The House that Johnny Pain built! Bingo Tuesday.

I drove past this place many a time before I actually stopped in. Once I did though, I wanted to kick myself for not getting here sooner...no pun intended. This place is the closest thing to an Austin dive bar that I've been able to find and I love it for just that reason. Nothing like a little piece of home and a hilariously friendly staff to make you feel welcome. I would feel remised if I didn't point out that it does get smokey in here, for those that are turned off by this fact. Just because I like this place doesn't mean that you will.

Gus catering to the older broads. He's still got it!

I had my first White Castle burger laying on the floor at this place. When the weather is nice the patio is great. Ask for the world famous Moon Bomb! Place reminds me of Patty's Pub on Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Great place to get weird!

Animal friendly as long as they have a leash!

This is a decent hang out. You can get a good variety of drinks. The atmosphere makes for a casual place to mingle.

Decent little dive bar, eclectic people for sure but that's always fun and I have yet to find any anywhere that can beat their prices!

Just don't go here…read more I've lived here for 5 years and by far the worst restaurant experience I have had in Oklahoma, and if you see my other reviews I'm pretty forgiving and tend to give spots the benefit of the doubt. This is a place worth an absolute flaming of a review.... But they already wasted enough of my time and energy today so I'll just summarize. No management on scene, no hostess, one server, two bartenders and a restaurant at 50% capacity on Mother's Day at 1 p.m. From walking in to having our orders taken, 30 minutes. 45 minutes later our order of roasted vegetable salad, steak eggs Benedict, and sourdough toast arrived. Salad was very well burnt but my mom was trying to be nice and didn't want to walk out. Eggs Benedict came out with two eggs boiled through, a hollandaise sauce with a sour smell and cold steak. I didn't eat it and no one seemed to notice, had it removed from my bill easy enough, but again zero F's given and no management showed daylight. Wife's toast actually arrived 5 minutes after the 'rest' of the food and the only thing hot and delicious. Toast here is $11, so there's that. No one cares here. From the health violations and poor food safety I saw in the kitchen, the multiple tables I witnessed sending back food to the multiple parties puzzled as to why they weren't being sat or once they were entirely ignored... it was so wildly bad I was embarrassed for everyone else having the same experience. Again, don't go.

It's so much larger and open. The bar is good size as well. We sat upstairs and loved being able to take in all that was happening, bartender, chef, staff it was great. Our food was amazing! The salad was simple but delicious, steaks were bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The Mac and cheese was a little dry for my liking but was good. Our drinks were unique and very good but the show stopper was dessert .... The bread pudding! I've never had anything as good. Raven has mastered bread pudding. It takes 20 mins so order it early on.

Okay, I finally tried Cheever's after seeing it recommended so many times, and honestly... I get…read morethe hype. I went with a friend for lunch, and the whole place had such a cute, cozy vibe. It feels a little upscale but not in a way that makes you feel underdressed if you show up in jeans. The staff was super sweet, and our server made great recommendations. I ordered the chicken fried steak, and it was SO good. The portion was huge, and the gravy was chef's kiss. Also, can we talk about the bread for a second? Because I would genuinely go back just for that. I kept telling myself "one more piece" and then suddenly half the basket was gone. The only reason it's getting 4 stars instead of 5 is because the wait for our food felt a little longer than expected. Nothing crazy, but by the time it arrived, we were definitely checking the kitchen door every few minutes lol. Other than that, everything was great. The food was comforting, the atmosphere was nice, and it felt like one of those places that's perfect for catching up with friends or taking your parents when they're in town. Definitely adding this to my list of favorite OKC spots. Next mission: trying the brunch because everyone keeps talking about it.

Great food, great service, and absolutely worth the stop. A special shoutout to our server, Luz S., who was delightful and made the experience even better. Kelly and I split the chicken fried steak, and that herb bread was to die for. We'll definitely be back.

A lovely dinner at Frida Southwest. Frida's is an interesting venue with its modern layout and…read moredecor. It's unique in the Paseo District as it is a relatively new purpose built building as opposed to the older buildings that occupy the Paseo scene. I liked the overall layout and the positioning of their oval bar. Although we ate inside due to the heat, the outside dining area is lovely. Looking forward to going back in the fall and enjoying their lovely patio. The menu while interesting, has enough traditional fare to avoid having their menu characterized as eclectic." It's a well rounded menu with southwest influence. We started with drinks. Jan had a G & T, and I had a dirty martini with Gin. We skipped appetizers and ordered our mains. I ordered the shrimp and grits and thought it was excellent. The dish comes with. Cajun garlic marinated shrimp, andoulie sausage, roasted corn saute, cheader chive grits, hot honey butter and charred lemon. It was delectable! It was served with a side of suckatash that was very southwest and very good. It had a a little kick. Jan ordered short ribs served on a bed of chive and cheader whipped potatoes. It came with two sides, chopped and pan seared brussel sprouts, and ancho braised mushrooms. Jan was happy with her selection and gave it two thumbs up. The service was good. At near capacity, the restrauant was quite. The prices are moderate high.

The potatoes might've actually been my favorite part of the whole plate, which sounds weird to say about a side dish but there it is. We also got the cornbread sticks to share - they came out warm with this whipped butter, and I'm pretty sure those disappeared from the table faster than anything else we ordered. I also had one of their gin cocktails, which surprised me a little since I don't usually go for gin. This one was light though, easy to drink, didn't overpower the food.
