I was in town visiting Oklahoma City to see some friends and some sites, and after going to the Myriad Botanical Gardens my friend recommended coming here, as Scissortail park was closed so they could decorate for the holidays. This was only a short walk from downtown, and featured a lively bar, decorated with charming Christmas odds and ends. The bar featured a large selection of what looked like 100 beer options, and I was pleased that they had a few gluten-free beer options for myself. It was very cold outside, down to about 18 degrees, so we went up to the 2nd story patio (i'm happy to report they had an easily usable elevator for myself and my powerchair), and that the tables were setup with fire pits in the center to warm us up. This was a nice detour and is a great spot to grab a beer if you're visiting downtown. read more

Came here before the First Round of March Madness and boy did they not know what they got themselves into. Nebraska fans took that place over! There didnt seem to be enough bartenders to keep up with the amount of people. At some point security ended up stopping people from coming inside due to being at capacity. What can I say, you weren't ready for Nebraska fans to roll into town. You were warned, given the heads up, and fell flat. Over an hour for a beer so you had to buy 8-12 at a time because nobody wants to endure that line twice let alone watch you pour individual drafta and take even longer. Customer service seems to be annoyed they were there and hosting the alumni center. Preparation was poor and execution fell flat. Could've been a chance to make a lot of money but you didnt believe them when they said expecting a couple thousand. Well, a couple thousand kept walking bc they didnt want to wait for a beer and it didnt take long to hit your capacity before turning people away. We skipped the second round preparty because of the fumble on the first. Michael and I started the adventure to Social Capital as part of my 30th high school reunion. We arrived in the morning to do a tour of the school, then some running around and fishing, before meeting up with my class about 6pm at social capital for dinner. Honestly the food was okay, but I could have done without the haunted house decor(granted it is October and my husband was with me. But with someone with Halloween PTSD from childhood, it was a bit un-nerving). But we had a great time with friends last night, so that helped. For dinner the hubby and I got chicken nachos( minus the pickled jalapeños and guacamole) and a dr pepper, and a Slider with fries an order of black beans and a dr pepper. Michael said the sliders was okay, but that the beans tasted like someone took a spoon from a pepper jar(from bite one too hot). There were no indicators on the menu that the beans were spiced. The nachos were perfect. Perfectly fried chips and the chicken was moist. They brought our order out to us, where we were, which was Great, but fighting the flies outdoors was a bit of a task. I wish they would had put the dinner item in a to go tray, when they served I to us, so we could have an option of something with a lid to close(bless my husband, he came up with an idea to put his tray on top to save my dinner). Over all it was a nice venue with plenty of space. I think there were two other events there besides us and they took up the main dining area and the roof top deck, while my reunion had the patio area on the bottom. Rented out the private room for my Bachelor Party and had truly an incredible experience. Our time-slot was from 8pm to midnight and they let us stay until 1am for no extra charge. I would say that I would give social capital in general 3.5 stars. I love the beer selection and the food is super affordable and decent (not great). The kind of food they have is well paired with a beer. I have been here a couple times now and it has never wowed me. I heard about the miracle pop up and so we decided to plan our staff get together there. I tried many times to get my questions answered but the events coordinator was very short with me. I still never got answers to my questions even after an email and additional follow up email. Our party date was coming up so I reached out to the manager. He did answer my questions but it was too late to book what I was really needing. We ended up just showing up and trying to get tables. Honestly it really was not even as nice or as big of a deal as what it has been made out to be. It's just Christmas decorations and pricy cocktails that are about 3/4 filled up and yes that was my entire team. They were in cute cups and you could purchase those separately. The lines were crazy long and only one line for people who did not have reserved tables/sections. We went on a Thursday from 4-7pm. I attended the Miracle pop-up at Social Capital. Absolutely loved the over-the-top holiday decorations and the photobooth. The drinks and the adorably festive cups were fun and really emphasized the holiday spirit.
