Hidden place on Vicolo Mariana (ally way, actually). Service was friendly and the food was quite good! I missed the pizza on the menu but made do with the Ravioli. Bonus: shady tables!

Just finished having an amazing meal with my family at this beautiful outside seating restaurant. The service was perfect with great recommendations and kindness. I would recommend!!!!

An interesting place, if you can find it It was our first meal in Rome, having just arrived by train and gotten checked in where we are staying for a few days. My wife came up with Edoardo's and off we went to have dinner. Not easy to find, we circled around what seemed back alley residential parking areas until we were all turned around trying to use Google maps. My wife, not shy asking directions from any passerby, tried that and had that person perplexed as well. She then stopped in another eatery that sells gelato and asked for help. A wonderful man, who when he tried to explain to our blank looks, actually walked us down and around a corner to the restaurant. Our first impression of the people of Rome is very high. They have outdoor seating but to avoid being close to anyone that was smoking, we opted to eat inside. Neither seating area was very busy, and as a result we received excellent service. The inside is a mixture of artwork and photos, the walls a deep pink, the rounded ceiling purple. This was a dining room with character. Our server was extremely helpful in making suggestions and recommendations for my wife, who settled on what turned out to be a very good spaghetti and clams (mussels?) dish. I went with pizza. Even faced with more foodie worthy dishes, I try to eat pizza. My pie of choice was Norina funghi e salsicce, or mushrooms and sausage pizza. In our travels through Italy the last couple of weeks I've learned to love the weak bottom crust I would complain about back home, and here I was with a more American style pizza. Thin crust to be sure, but some support from underneath. The pizza was large and delicious, the background music familiar, service helpful and friendly, the restaurant interesting. It was a great meal and a great start to Rome.

Stopped here for lunch with a group. Unfortunately that day the credit card machine was down which made it a bit more difficult. The service was mediocre. Felt like the two gentleman there spent most of their time chatting with friends that stopped in than worrying about the guests. We ordered a few pizzas and a chicken dish. The chicken was very good. The pizzas were good as well (they were a bit greasy and missing the slightly burnt bottom that you would expect of a Neapolitan pizza). Overall a decent option.

Absolute gem hidden in the back streets of Rome. This menu is great for lunch True Italian but lighter menu with appetizer portions and light fresh salads. Today I had Buffala Campana Docg E Prosciutto or Buffalo mozzarella and prosciutto. Hand made buffalo served as shown in large portions and great to get the pallet ready for Con Crost. Di cPane or Sauté mussels w white wine and Sicilian bread croutons. It was a tad salty for my taste but I'm a bit salt sensitive ..table share is always welcome and sizes are good to do so. Unlike many cultures here in Rome they welcome you to clean the plate with left over bread and fresh Italian Olive oils. The flavor is lightly bold with garlic and perfect afternoon lunch coming from a hand day tour. Remember this too has small seating but welcomes groups. $$ On price and would prefer Euros and cash vs Cc. Bon appétit

The vibe of the place was not really nice, the waiter made us feal unconfortable! The meal was ok, but the bottle of 2€ worth vine was sold by 20€ and the bill was added some 4€ extra charge and 3€ water, but we did not even drink the water! We also went to the place just because of terrace and we was not even alowed to sit outside! In the end we paid 70€ just for medium meal! High price, low value!

Spaghetti with sausage and chicory (front) and lobster linguine (right).

Great food, bad service. Loved the orchiette alla norcina and the pork (tasca di maiale).

At first when we arrived at Sofia's we were skeptical since the restaurant was completely empty (this was around 6pm). But then we realized that europeans tend to have dinner after 8pm (the restaurant filled up around that time). So don't hesitate to go inside if it's looking a little empty! What we had: Focaccia Bread - Possibly the best bread we had in Italy. It was made fresh and very well seasoned. Seabass carpaccio - light dish that was very well balanced. Duck ragu - omg this was beaut. Highly recommended Pasta with bacon? - pretty good as well but wasnt as good as the duck ragu. Duck breast with salad - cooked to perfection and all the flavors were very well balanced. Beef fillet - it was also cooked to perfection. The sauce complimented the dish very well. Overall, i wish we had the opportunity to eat here again rather than trying other restaurants that werent even half as good as this place.

As a Southern American trying to navigate Rome, I'm still completely confused. I cannot for the life of me figure out north vs. south or east vs. west in this city. Every street somehow looks historic, beautiful, and exactly the same. By 9 PM, after walking more than 10 miles today and standing in countless lines -- one for over an hour -- I was exhausted. I was close to my hotel and started looking for somewhere to eat. I had already passed Sofia earlier and really didn't want to backtrack even a few blocks. But after going the wrong direction again and somehow ending up right back near it, I figured that was a sign. So, Sofia it was. My ordering skills in Italy are still not exactly professional level. I really need a local Italian to help me. Yeah, I'm slow... remember, I'm from the South. I ordered the Mezza Maniche Carbonara. I mean, you can't really go wrong with noodles, cheese, and pork, right? A few minutes after ordering, they brought out this little appetizer-looking thing that I'm still confused about. It was this tiny little ball about the size of my thumb. I took one bite and it was absolutely delicious. Honestly, I'm not even sure I want to know what was in it, but at that point I was hungry enough not to ask questions. Then the pasta arrived. Drumroll... First bite? Absolutely divine. Rich, creamy, cheesy pasta with perfectly cooked pork mixed throughout. Fantastic. I devoured the entire plate, chased it down with a Coke, grabbed my glass bottle of water, and walked down the street carrying it like a Roman wino. Great food, great atmosphere, and a perfect little outdoor dining setup on one of Rome's tiny city streets

It's a small entrance down a cobblestone street but the outside is deceiving. Inside there's a bakery with all sorts of treats, and behind that, the restaurant opens up into a large dining area with big brick arches. It looks grand but is very casual. All the staff are super friendly and speak English. We tried a margherita pizza with mushrooms and prosciutto, tonnarlli cacio e Pepe with artichokes, and carbonara. Both pastas were fantastic with cheesy and creamy with a hint of spice from pepper. The pizza was awesome. If you enjoy thin crust or are carb sensitive this is for you. For dessert we tried maritozzo, basically a cream filled baguette which wasn't my favorite.

Overall, the food was quite good here and they had decent sized portions. Our favorite dish there was an artichoke carpaccio which came with shavings of pecorino, olive oil, arugula, and lemon juice -- surprisingly good! Pasta was thick and chewy, so it was quite filling, and it came with plenty of sauce. They have a decent selection of coffee, beer, and wine as well. The space is nicely decorated so it's fine if you're looking for something casual or for something a little nicer as well.
