What an amazing time at EDscapade! I love doing escape rooms but my boyfriend is just starting, so we did the BOX room here and it was so fun for us both. We were greeted by Peter at the front and signed the liability waivers. We were then led into the room where they gave us the rundown of the rules of the game. Then the fun starts! There were a lot of interactive elements that I haven't experienced at other escape rooms. I don't want to spoil the room but I recommend this for novice players and even advanced for a great activity to do. I'm excited to go back to do Hostage and Nursery. read more

Just went with 4 individuals and did Box. We had a blast! I was accompanied by my daughter, nephew and niece, all between ages of 8-12. It was a great experience. And we have done other escape rooms before. What we really liked about EDscapade was how amazing and interactive our host was! We had Leo Lauron as our host, and great sage! He was even in costume and the way he told the story and interacted with us through-out got us super pumped to solve the puzzles and escape in time! Caiden was a great host from the get-go. He had me tricked until the very end! I won't give away his secret just in case other people fall for it. The whole experience was both hilarious and spooky. I can't help but wonder if they're just laughing behind the cameras while watching everyone freak out. While blindfolded in the waiting room, Caiden took everyone in one by one. Meanwhile, we hear people around us stomping and meowing. I think even Bat Man swung by. Anyway, I was in a group of 5 for my husband's birthday. We did the Hostage and managed to escape with 7 minutes left. We will definitely try to come back for the other rooms--especially the nursery if I can find people brave enough to go with me. I recommend, and if possible, go on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night to get Caiden! read more

Just went to play the Hostage with my family and the game master Caiden and had an amazing experience. Lived up to its thrilling experience and was pretty scary to do. Caiden was a really good game master and was able to guide us through the escape room whenever we needed help. Would definitely want to try more of the escape rooms here! read more

Update 9/26 - in case you can't tell, my bf and I are obsessed with this company and we've brought 4 different friends here so far. We played Nursery and D'Angelo was an amazing gamemaster!! We did maybe 50% of the game because I'm a huge weenie and I had to tap out too many times for sanity breaks, but as usual, the atmosphere, storytelling, and set design is phenomenal. Warning - it's way scarier than Hostage so you really have to prep yourself before going in. We went back for B.o.X. today and it was SO. MUCH. FUN. Clay and Tim amped up the immersion level to 110% literally right from the beginning, and were HILARIOUS when we were asking for hints. Truly a DnD adventure and with them it was so easy to really throw yourself into the game. Honestly, I wish I can relive the day because WE BEAT THE RECORD for the fastest completion time (hopefully the afternoon teams didn't just break our record right after us HAHAHA)!!!!! Thank you for the most amazing time ever. The owners are amazing and were so kind to us, and that just enhanced our overall experience with this company. You don't know how excited we are for Wicked Wednesday and for new rooms to come out. Not to be a huge stan but for our next game we're gonna be in our EDscapade merch to win big again (honestly probably just gonna drop by earlier to take a photo of our team name on the window outside). Just finished B.O.X today as my 27th room. We had a BLAST. Great place with awesome customer service. Dylan was our GM and provided great nudges to help us pass the game. This room is considered the easiest at this location. Awesome theme with plenty of unique puzzles I haven't encountered before and pretty immersive. We were able to pass with just one minute left! It was really exciting towards the end. I recommend having a group of 4 so you have more time to complete puzzles or if you're just a group of 2 to have about 2 rooms under your belt. Dylan informed us that the place is owned by educators which is awesome (hence the "ED" in edscapade :). Shoutout to Daniel as well who did awesome as our guide. We had a group of 7 and wanted the easiest game we could find, so we picked "BOX" at EDscapement. We had all done about 3 games in previous years at different places and never escaped. We made that clear to Paige, our host and made sure she would help us when we needed it. Many times we started following red herrings and Paige straightened us out! And we got out with minutes to spare! It's so much more fun when you solve all the puzzles and get out, even if it takes a lot of clues. I don't think we're ready for any of the harder EDscapement games though. read more

My team and I played two rooms here so far. B.O.X. is a very immersive, fun escape room, with a little bit of comic relief, which we really loved. Our host Quang was very nice and patient with us as we started the game and did not hesitate to talk about a mutual love for escape rooms at the end. He even gave us some recommendations for escape rooms in Southern California, since we have finished most in the area. Jonathan was our fun GM as he enthusiastically portrayed his role and described the room to us. The escape room itself had great decor and we liked the puzzles; they were practical and the next steps were fairly obvious. There was very fun and unique puzzles in this room and moments of fun intensity! We definitely enjoyed this room. Hostage is a fun room as well! We enjoyed the fear content, which truly kept us on edge. Our host Daniel was very nice and patient and kept the room very mysterious to us and had fun conversations about escape rooms in general. The room itself had a nice set up, we enjoyed the creepiness of the decor! This room was definitely harder to complete because the puzzles were more ambiguous and it was hard to determine what or where a puzzle had revealed a new finding. Luckily they provide you with options on how to receive hints and the constant nudging was greatly helpful in this room since we were too terrified to think. Shoutout to our GM Sonya! She was able to help all players with their puzzles and you could tell she wanted us to succeed. Although I was drenched in my sweat, her kind voice helped me stay calm and collected haha! Overall my friends and I have really enjoyed the rooms we played so far and like that there are optional puzzles to strike our curiosity and make the rooms replayable. Will we be brave enough for the nursery? We shall see! read more

First Timers! We did "Hostage" and OH MY GOD. I wasn't sure what to expect - We didn't read much about it ahead of time, and kinda booked it on a whim. But I am SO impressed. I really loved how they told the story and they moved us through everything. There was a clear game aspect to it, but it was also very immersive, scary and real. The whole time there were multiple different missions or puzzles we could work on.. so if we felt stuck on something, we could turn our attention to something else that would help all the other pieces fit together. There were only 2 of us, so I felt like we were at a little bit of a disadvantage for getting through every little thing. But we also really enjoyed that level of difficulty. TIM AND DANIEL are the best! They are the reason why we will continue to come back. They made it so much fun from the time we stepped in the door til the time we left. read more

Did the Hostage thriller/horror escape room and it was such a blast! The atmosphere and mood? Immaculate. As a horror fan, it really got my blood pumping and adrenaline rushing. I am not one to leave bad reviews but hostage game room was not worth it. The boyfriend and I did it, and left very disappointed. For context we have done numerous escape rooms ranging from various difficulty. The clues were not very interesting and they seemed to put more thought in "trying to make it scary". Puzzles are not difficult just time consuming. At one point you are just being told what to do exactly with no puzzle at all. We unfortunately did not finish the last puzzle and even our game master couldn't figure it out. He eventually just said "it should look like this". read more

Did the Battle of Xu'Qua with my partner, and twas a fun experience! The puzzles themselves are very solvable, but there were a couple of ones that were difficult or needed the game master's help. Our game master Heather was also very kind and funny. We appreciate the role play, and she was a very helpful sage. (Side note: We asked if the music could be turned off because it was scary and she jokingly said that it was for immersion. Loved the music that was playing before you entered and waiting in the lobby. Paige was our game master and she was really good at her role. She really got into character when telling the story and it really built up the suspense for the game. The room was fun and would recommend to anyone who's into horror. SO. FUN!!! And 1000% recommend. I've only been to one other escape room so I wasn't sure what to expect and Edscapade did not disappoint! In fact it was the best one I've been to yet! I'm a horror addict so the Hostage game was perfect and truly scary. Amazing aesthetics, good story line, and difficult but manageable puzzles to follow. I'm already excited to go back and try to solve the extra puzzles I didn't figure out in time!!! 10/10 recommend :) it's especially a fun thing to do in a time when a lot is closed. I did the Hostage escape room and it was SO FUN. I did it with 6 people and it was so interactive and scared us to the max. I was a bit afraid of the live actors but it just made things 100x times better in terms of being immersive and real. I appreciated the helpfulness of tips and the room itself made sense throughout solving things. I wish my group had a bit more time to solve things out because we messed up the lock at the very end! My parent friends and I did the Hostage room together and escaped! Prior to coming, I had been agonizing for days because I'm a huge scaredy cat who doesn't like horror movies nor that feeling of being hunted. LOL. For me, this room was an acceptable level of thrilling/scary without being too over the top. If you are truly uncomfortable, you can request to not be touched. I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant so I asked to not be touched/ scared so badly that I may potentially trip or fall over. :) Marissa Yuan was our host and she was the perfect amount of creepy/fun and helped keep the momentum going. Aaron and Caiden were great gamemasters! Very patient, funny, and attentive. We are from out of town but decided to return to EDscapade for B.O.X after trying HOSTAGE. I was worried B.O.X would be too easy as it was listed beginner friendly and most of us are intermediate players. However B.O.X was actually fairly challenging and we barely managed to escape! Regardless, I'd still recommend EDscapade to anyone as it is by far the most interactive and creative escape room I've experienced. I cannot wait to return again! read more
