    Street taco
    Shanna K.

Wow!! This little place is absolutely amazing! It was SOOOO Delicious! My husband got street tacos, I got a breakfast burrito and my son had a bean and cheese burrito. As you can see there are only two pictures my son devoured his burrito before I could get a picture he loved it so much! Can't wait to go back!

Casual and good. Jarritos with bean and cheese burrito.

Wow! Talk about Sticker Shock!…read more I have been wanting to check out Popeyes for a long time but don't have any local to the Eugene Springfield area. We were in Cottage Grove on business so I took the opportunity to go in. First thing I saw when we walked in was the menu marquee with prices that made me double check, uh... wow, that's pretty expensive stuff. Not used to seeing $34 and $63.... I usually get pretty good fried chicken at the supermarket for about $12 for 8 pieces, here they want $34!?! Anyway, I still wanted to check it out. The staff were super friendly, I mean like, they were fun to interact with, a very cheerful store! I opted for just a sandwich, small fries and a small drink. That was a little more reasonably priced but still kinda expensive compared to other fast food. The store wasn't very busy so it was surprising to see trash on the floors and spilled soda all over the dispenser counter. There were even dirty boot prints on the floor even though it hasn't rained in days. The fries were called 'Cajun' but they weren't spicy at all, a little on the stale side, probably better when fresh. The sandwich was a crispy grilled regular chicken, not spicy and it was delicious! Almost made up for my sticker shock. The chicken was well cooked with a fantastic crispy coating and the bun was warmed and soft. The pickles didn't make sense on chicken, but no big deal, the flavor of the bread, mayo and chicken worked very well.

We were just there. Drove from Eugene. Ordered and got home and was missing okay if our order…read more Called 5x no answer.

I ordered the Mild Spice, which is basically medium on their spice list (#3 out of 6) and it was pretty close to my limit... I can only imagine what their # 6 is like (OUCH!) Really good flavor, juicy and tender! Very crispy crust on the chicken too! Onion rings seemed a little salty, but they were good. Good service too! I will be back!

Had to update, they've been closed for a bit and finally opened back up this week? Anyway, my…read moreboyfriend and I got chicken yesterday, however we completely forgot neither $12-$13 item comes with fries! Let me give you a rundown of the menu, $12.75 for the 3 tenders, usually jumbo but yesterday they definitely weren't- and the sandwich is $13.50. The tenders are usually huge but yesterday they were regular size I guess. The fries are $5 each, and pretty much any side starts at $5 here. Honestly the food yesterday was kinda mediocre, the chicken wasn't breaded well and was falling off the chicken, which tasted bland without the breading and seasoning, the bread it comes with was super soggy, and the last piece of bread anyway lol. The sandwich was really disapponting, the chicken wasn't seasoned well at all. Each food item only came with literally 1 pickle which was odd. Also we were waiting for the food and I don't know if he ever even called our name but when my bf went to check on it, it had already been done and sitting there? Obviously we don't need to be chased down but if you're not busy and we're literally behind the stand, you could at least try to mention something? We both thought that was weird too, the service just kinda seemed off today, the vibes weren't that great. Overall probably not returning, almost $30 and we didn't feel the chicken was the quality it typically is, and we've been here multiple times before. Typically we spend closer to $40 though, for each entree to have the completed side as a meal, and honestly for 2 people and in this rising economy, that's too steep to chance it not being that good. Super disappointing, would love to support local and have good food but not willing to risk $30-40 like that again.

Came in today at 8:10 like usual. Immediately told half their menu was, surprise surprise, not available, and that we could not dine in despite being open for another 50 minutes. Everything went about as usual until my daughter asked if she could get a refill, like she has multiple times before, while we were waiting on the food. The girl running the register, who somehow managed to get our 2-item order wrong three times while taking it, refused to allow her a refill. When I asked why not, she stated it was store policy that refills were only allowed for guests dining in. When I pointed out that she was not allowing us to dine in, she smuggly replied "that is correct." Rather than demand a manager, who presumably wadn't present since it was only the two teenagers running the kitchen and register, we've decided this will just be our last trip and advise all of you other yelpers of the substandard service this place has made a practice of providing.

The chicken fingers are huge, much larger than the usual size you get in other places. The serving of fries is also huge. The drink that comes with the combo is small. Diminutive, even. It was too much food for me, but I didn't know how big the chicken fingers are here, because I had never eaten here before. Same with the fries. Two of me (and I'm not a small guy) would have been happy with what I ordered. I ordered Cajun sauce to go with my chicken and that was a terrible mistake. I am from New Orleans, so as you might imagine, I've eaten a lot of Cajun food in my life, and the sauce did not resemble anything Cajun I've ever had. I daresay it tasted more like Mexican hot sauce than anything else, but mostly, it just tasted bad. And not that hot, either. I went back up to the register and paid for another two containers of sauce, and this time the selection was more mainstream, that is, honey barbecue. Which was good. Not great, but, you know, good. The dining area is very basic, very spartan, some inexpensive chairs and tables and a muted flat-screen TV (with closed-caption) on the wall. The single staff person at the register was very solicitous, too much so, frankly. Cloyingly nice, almost to the point of being obsequious. But perhaps I am just too jaded and cynical, other people may love the immediate high level of friendliness and familiarity. Country music was playing loudly while I was eating. After a while I realised that it was not actually country music, but rather, Christian pop music. If you're on the Pepsi side of The Great Soda Schism, you'll be happy here. If you're on the Coke side, you're not going to be happy. I like Coca-Cola, so I ordered a lemonade, which turned out to be not lemonade, really, but water with almost no lemon taste in it. It came out of the dispenser, so maybe the tank was almost empty or something, I don't know. It was water with the faintest taste of lemon. That's what I got for a drink. There are a great many restaurants that do wonderful things with a chicken. The chicken-lover landscape offers up an embarrassment of riches. With that in mind, I think I'd pick another spot for fried chicken. Not because the chicken was bad (it was not), but other things about the place were not particularly appealing to me, and it's not as if the main drawing card here (which is the bird) is so completely fantastic that you brush all the shortcomings aside. The chicken isn't that good, you know? It's good, but not so good as to make you forget about everything else.
