Love the spin that Tita's put on the island style restaurant! They have classic plate lunches that are yummy but they also have other different menu items that you wouldn't expect. The loaded fries are definitely a fun twist, we ordered both of them and were not disappointed. Even the plate lunches have other less traditional options. The guy who took our order super nice and great in explaining menu items and the effort they put into creating each dish. Our kids loved it too! Looking forward to coming back soon!

I love Hawaiian food and when I heard about Tita's Tropical Grill, of course I had to try it! I just finished a hike at Pisgah and I was starving! I stopped in and what a cute place! Great customer service and the menu! I almost opted for the Huli Huli chicken but I had the Spicy Mayo Poke bowl, as I'm kinda obsessed with poke bowls! Tita's didn't disappoint. I also had the Pinada, ok yum! They offered me a sample of the pineapple whip which I thought was so sweet! I took my poke to go and it was so good! I found out the same people who own Toxic, again obsessed with their burgers, own Tita's. They definitely didn't disappoint and I will be back to try all the things! So good and yeah to another great place! Prices were good, clean restaurant and friendly staff! I definitely will be coming back! Can't wait for the restaurant in Pleasant Hill to open too! Woohoo! Thank you for another wonderful place!

Delicious, late pickup order at 7:45pm and we were served hot food with nothing but kindness. Hate to admit we've been "sleepin' on" trying this place and now I'm hooked. Mac salad is especially delicious and the chimichurri is equally tasty! Also noticed a very clean and nice bar area for seating so we will be back for dine in!

The Hulu Hulu chicken was good and tender. My only complaint was that the Mac salad was completely bland.. Just mayo and noodles

Caleb was also quite friendly and helpful. The food was good. It wasn't amazing, but it was good. No one complained and everyone ate what they got. The rub... the meals averaged $27 per person before the tip. My meal consisted of a cup of white rice, a half cup of black beans, a small serving of black olives, a quarter cup of chopped tomatoes, a tablespoon of crushed peanuts and about 2 oz of a tasty cilantro sauce. Add to that 5 smallish shrimp (they advertised prawns, but these were shrimpy prawns) and I felt a little ill used. Again, everything tasted good. The prices just didn't make sense to me. The place has a clean and tidy tiki bar vibe and is pleasant enough to sit and talk without feeling a need to get outta there. They also have outdoor seating in a pleasant of not busy courtyard space shared with other businesses. Their beer and cocktail selection was decent and they booze prices were not too bad compared to similar local establishments... Will I go back? Maybe. But I hope the portions are better for the $ if and when I do.

Excellent! As a Puerto Rican living in Eugene, it's awesome to see more Latin food popping up. This…read moreis essentially the equivalent of what is known as a "soda" in Costa Rica: a no-fuss establishment that serves comforting Costa Rican and Caribbean staples (the sweet gospel of rice, beans, and plantains). I ordered the chicken and salsa ($8.50) and the patacones ($5). The former came with the titular chicken breast stewed in a tomato based sauce, gallo pinto (the Costa Rican take on rice and beans), maduros (fried sweet plantains), and a fresh cabbage salad. For the uninitiated, patacones (or tostones, as they are called in the Caribbean) are twice-fried green plantains, which are starchy and savory. Think of them as the Latin variant of a french fry. Another great addition is the Salsa Lizano. This is a traditional sauce drizzled over many foods in Costa Rica that sort of resembles a sweeter, more herbaceous Worcestershire sauce. I'm glad I finally got to try it! The food itself was delicious! The chicken was incredibly tender, and the tomato based sauce was surprisingly deep and flavorful. This perfectly accompanied the gallo pinto, where both rice and beans were cooked perfectly with the familiar inclusions of peppers, onion, and spices. Both of these were made even better with a generous drizzle of the Lizano sauce. The salad was a nice counterpoint both texturally and also in terms of the more raw, vegetal flavors. It reminded me of the typical sort if slaw that you would get if you were eating pupusas. One thing that really stood out for me though were the plantains (both the sweet maduros and the starchy patacones). For whatever reason, I haven't had the best luck getting good versions of either of these plantain dishes in Oregon at restaurants that offer them. The plantains for maduros need to be RIPE. For patacones, they need to be super green, and when they're fried the second time, they need to be thick enough to not completely dry out (you're not supposed to be making plantain chips). The plantains at Whapping though, were PERFECT, and should serve as a reference as to how you;re supposed to make these dishes. The patacones were even served with refried black beans and cotija cheese, which I had never seen done before. Now though, I retroactively regret not having eaten the countless patacones of my past without this! I'm so glad that Whapping has opened up here in Eugene. As a Latin/Caribbean food aficionado, this place is very welcome, so be sure to check it out. ¡Pura Vida!

Facets of his food were OK, but as a whole, I was pretty disappointed. I wanted more assertive flavors!! The cabbage salad item was a bland, under seasoned (even if it's authentic), and a dry mess (it didn't help that the actual cabbage was tasteless to begin with. Just leave it off. The red beans and rice were solid. Fine. The chicken was boneless/skinless sadness drowned (boiled) in a generic tasting curry-ish sauce. Give me some flavor on the bone, please. Super gentrified and super pandering to a white-bread boring palate. I wanted more!

La Wawa Puerto Rican Soul Food - Lincoln City, OR…read more Driving on the way back from Newport, OR to Seaside, OR .. we were hoping to find a spot for some great vegan food. A quick Google search and we landed upon a perfect option, La Wawa Puerto Rican Soul Food. When looking up their menu we were thrilled to see, not just items that could probably be accidentally vegan ... no no, they have a full on Vegan Plate listed in their menu! In addition to including a picture of the actual food we received, I've also included a picture of the Vegan Plate as listed directly on their website. For your plate, you get some typical staples of slaw, rice, beans, maduros and tostones, each item seemed perfectly spiced and flavored and the respective textures were spot on as well. We actually ordered a separate side of tostones to hold us for the drive back (waiting until back in the room before wolfing down for the Vegan Plate). So, one word of caution ~~ blink and you'll miss them ~~ especially if driving at night as they are based out of a food truck. Whatever listing we found for them when Googling, we failed to take notice of their business model being a food truck model as opposed to a brick and mortar location. They are right on south side of Highway 101 so they're easy to find so long as you're using Google Maps or Waze and mindful that you're looking for a food truck. There's a lot of options in the North Oregon Coast, some accidentally vegan, some specifically labelled vegan, Pizza, Thai, Sushi, etc ... all great options. The Puerto Rican food was something we found to be a bit unique for the area. So if you're looking for something just a bit different than the norm, along with the comfort of knowing you're eating a vegan dish ... you need to drop on by and show them some appreciation!

The owners Eddie and Amanda are phenomenal people and excellent chefs. Forgot to check in today and take pictures, but our appetizer of tostones (fried green plantains), entree's of chuleta's (pork chops) and beans and rice, dessert of maduros (fried sweet plantains) and cafe cubanos was so delicious and satisfying. They are in a new location near a wooded area off the 101 that's cute - we saw a huge family of Does and their fawns, too. Give them a try next time you're in Lincoln city. Buen provecho :) PS - there is plenty of parking and the dispensary does allow you to use the restroom, they let my husband use it. There are plenty of nearby public restrooms with beautiful ocean views, too.
