I used Edward in February, 2016. The only reason I called him was because of the mostly good reviews he has at Yelp. He was supposed to arrive between 1 and 3 pm, and was here at 1:30. He diagnosed the problem with our dishwasher leak as too much soap in it causing the leak. He only charged $35, for the service call and diagnosis. I'm a wordsmith. But...I am speechless about Edward's quality of customer service, appliance prowess, follow through and 'the knight in shining armor' that he genuinely is. He is responsive, precise, on-time and simply 'ON-IT'! He takes into account the whole picture of what needs repairing vs. replacing, all the while carefully explaining the pros and cons both in terms of the remaining lifespan of the appliance and the financial investment of parts/labor. His labor pricing is very fair and he is honest about the cost of parts. His web savvy to find and order the parts expediently is above and beyond. I'm a hands-on real estate sales/leasing agent and a property mgr. We needed ice and water quickly for our new lessees. Within 2 biz days, Edward assessed the challenge, ordered the basic parts and also a back-up part as a precaution, then returnrd for the install. How prudent was that? He cleaned up tboroughly. Upon my request, he prepared my invoice on the spot. Had a recent visit on 9/4/13 from Edward to fix a Kenmore oven that would not heat up. My wife was able to get home early from her teaching job so that I would not have to miss work. Edward gave us an estimate of $180 to fix the problem plus any parts that was needed. My wife called to give me the estimate. I thought it was a little high but I said yes just to get it fixed. I accept all blame for agreeing, and I could have said no. It took him 10 minutes to put in a new ignitor, and he was done. $81.75 for part and tax and a labor charge of $180 for a total of $261.75. I called him later a little bothered by the labor charge of $180 for 10 minutes of work. He told me that I was paying for his skill and his expertise. Someone one else would have taken a couple of hours to do the job that he just did. He offered a 15% discount on my next repair, and I said there would not be a next job using him. This repair was GREAT!! I literally called and they were over to my place within the hour!! I was in a bit of a rush as I had an appointment, and they were able to diagnose and repair the dryer in 10 min!! (bad thermal fuse)....fast, efficient, and fair! My very old Maytag was leaking and I worried it was the end of it. I called Edward and he came as soon as it was convenient for me. He examined it, said, "No big problem!" and fixed it on the spot. Fridge and freezer stopped cooling Saturday night & we had a dinner party for the next day, Sunday. Called 7 places who claimed to be open Sunday, but Edward was the only one who called me back. Another fellow, Larry, came over and fixed it in no time (needed a new 3-in-1 relay capacitor). The cost for everything was $290 (parts & labor)...don't know if this is too high, but if we didn't fix it we would have lost a freezer full of meat! read more

Edward came out to assess the washer, dryer, oven, and fridge. He gave a 2 hour window and was right on time. He started with the dryer which had been moved by other workers around the house and vent hose was not set properly. Was able to get it set properly and positioned the dryer back in place. Been two days and it is running great with no more moisture in the laundry room. He checked out the other appliances and assured me they are in proper working order and gave suggestions I didn't know to consider to help keep them running properly like washing machine cleaner. We needed a new dishwasher installed. Edward gave us a good quote for the job, and he made sure we had all the necessary parts while we were on the phone. He showed up on time, and had the dishwasher installed in less than 1/2 an hour. Plus, there were no surprises in the price: we paid what he quoted. Had problems with the hinge pin on my refrigerator door. The whole door kept falling off due to the hinge pin being stuck in the door cavity. Called Edward's Appliances and the gentleman on the phone talked me through the whole procedure to get my door working again! He must have spent over an hour on the phone with me and even called back later to see to how it was working! No charge! Totally stoked that there are still people like him in the business world! Really great service and great guy! We were in a pinch and Edward was able to help us out. Our laundry dryer went out the night before we were supposed to go out of town and then our youngest got hit with a stomach bug later the following morning. Edward came to the rescue. He figured out that it was likely one (or a combination) of the 4 radiant temperature sensors that had gone out. My dishwasher suddenly died after a recent power outage so I called Edward's to come out and diagnose the problem. They were supposed to come between 11am - 1pm but showed up around 10am when I was at the gym. My son happened to be home so they looked at the dishwasher anyway. I guess I should say they looked under the sink, not bothering to do any type of testing or inspection of the electrical components of the dishwasher itself. For this we were charged $35 (which I had been told would be applied to any labor costs incurred) and given a quote for $428 to replace both the keypad and internal electrical components. I do not understand how they could possibly know that both needed to be replaced simply by looking under the sink. But then again, I wasn't there to ask any questions. Since this was almost half the cost of a new dishwasher we opted to buy a new one. When I called Edward's to ask how much they would charge to install the new dishwasher I was told between $120-150, but since they would have to make a second trip out to our house they refused to give us credit for the $35 we had already paid them. Hmm... wouldn't they have had to come back anyway had we decided to have them fix the old one?? read more

I would give them 6 stars if I could. I was given a 2 hour appointment window and the technician arrived well within the time period. He quickly diagnosed the problem and said he would have to get the part from the warehouse. I was happy that he wanted a GE part and not some knock off. He gave me the choice of coming back that afternoon or the following morning. The morning was better and again I was given a 2 hour time slot and as before Jerry arrived within the time period and in no time was my refrigerator working. Jerry was friendly, polite and very professional. It is the best experience I have ever had with an appliance repair service. Also, their prices are very reasonable. I forgot to mention yelp to get an extra 20 dollars off but the experience was so good I don't care. This is the only service I will be using for appliances and will be recommending on the Nextdoor Neighbor site. read more
