Own a 1996 Kenmore washer that wouldn't go into final spin dry..I wanted to see if a repair was possible. Oscar arrived very promptly at my home to help find the cause of the slow water leak coming out of the bottom of my washing machine purchased way back in 1988. I was impressed by how kind, thorough, and knowledgeable he is. Oscar didn't give up and found a very small, almost hidden, crack on the outer tub of the washer. He was able to locate a dealer who still sells these old-model outer drums. Since the price of the replacement drum would be almost as much as the total cost of comparable washers being sold now, Oscar obligingly advised me on the washers I was considering buying. The charge for his labor and time was very reasonable. The two times that I called his phone number listed here on Yelp, it rang 9 times then transferred to his voicemail. We have an LG dryer in one of the apartments we manage that was not generating any heat. I called a few repair shops here on Yelp to explain the issue and as expected, all said they charge a service fee to assess the issue and the fee will be applied to the final bill. That's a bit annoying because of the sunk cost if you don't agree with the estimate or feel uncomfortable with the repair person. But I understand the logic. Oscar has the same policy. HOWEVER, he didn't have an opening that worked with my schedule and instead patiently listened to my explanation of the issue and immediately suggested I reset the heat sensor switch by simply accessing the interior and pressing the shutoff switch. He provided detailed direction where to find the switch and how to access it. After following his instructions, the dryer is operating normally again. I called Oscar yesterday because my 8-10 year old dryer stopped working. He got back to me very quickly. He came this morning and found that the thermostat was not working. He had the part in his truck. He also took the time to check the belt and vacuum out the interior of the dryer. His charge was very reasonable. Fantastic! Showed up on time, with parts in hand, did quick work, and left the place clean. Long version: I submitted a Yelp request to replace the big rubber gasket in the front of my clothes washer, and I included the model number of the washer. I had 6 appliance repair companies respond within seconds and all of them just offered what it would cost to show up and take a look. Washer wasn't working properly. They scheduled me right away and came to service the washer. A part needed replacement which had to be ordered. It was ready after 3 days.
