I'm currently pregnant and knew I wouldn't be able to go back for a touch up for some time. Two months after I got the highlights I had noticed it was growing in very blocky. A few coworkers pointed it out and encouraged me to reach back out to the salon to touch it up. They reminded me that it was not worth what I paid and I should get it fixed. I emailed the salon and their response was they could book me a touch up appointment with no discount. That because we were out of the one week window they were not willing to do anything. Very disappointed! I was hoping to be a long term client.

They were very rude when they called to see where I was and didn't listen to my explanation before hanging up and fully charging me. Sad to see such a good place slip like this.

No mention of a refund for $20. I emailed her again asking for a $20 refund and no response. As a repeat customer and only asking to be charged for what I booked, I expected a better response. I have been to many top hair salons from Beverly Hills to Manhattan. I'm always looking for that "top stylist" and great experience. Many of these salons can be intimidating or uptight. What I have found at Edward's Salon is so refreshing! Edward's Salon has the expertise that I am always looking for in a stylist or colorist, and it also has an inviting environment that makes you feel comfortable and welcome when you walk in the door. Their is always fresh fruit and latte's for you while you wait. Just gotta love that! I always have a great time when I'm there. Edward himself is one of my favorite stylists. He always gives me the style and color I am looking for, and believe me I always want the latest and greatest! When I check out the work from the other stylist in his salon, I would say, I always see great looking hair and happy clients! Wow, I just read some unhappy reviews. I can't believe anyone had a bad experience at Edward's. I feel if you are truly unhappy with a service you received, always talk to Edward. I know he would not let you leave his salon feeling that way! When in doubt get a consultation to make sure you are on the same wave length as the new stylist you have booked ! Edward's rocks. This isn't that typical salon experience where you get snobbed out from the moment you walk in the door and are made to feel like the salon is doing you a favor by taking your appointment. Not even close. At Edwards, the atmosphere is inviting, fun, warm and friendly. The stylists are talented and up to date on the latest trends and technologies. Not only do you end up getting a great cut/style, but it's a great experience. Edward, himself, knows all of the customers and goes out of his way to make sure that they are happy with their cut. Edwards is a hidden gem and I get a good laugh out of the fact that people are spending twice or three times the money to go to some of the other "high-end" salons in the area only be treated poorly. I actually find myself looking forward to my appointments. In a day and age when personal relationships and service seem to be dying - it's nice to know that there's a place that will not only deliver great service, but where the staff take the time to know you. Great cut. Great people. Great value. Can't beat that. read more

Edwards Salon has a nice comfortable atmosphere, but their stylists and colorists are not as well versed as many of the stylists in the city. I had an older British woman who looked at herself in the mirror as she cut my hair, then she bragged about herself, and lastly, she told me that I had to fit my schedule around hers, since she is such an experienced and talented stylist. The prices for what you get is ridiculous! One example, I have been getting my hair colored for years (in the city) and all of the colorists I have ever been to have always lifted my roots, and then put a toner on afterward, which fills your hair follicles and gives you that depth and shine. That is always part of the process and is included in the price. At Edwards, they do not do that, and if you ask for it, they charge extra. This salon is way overpriced for what you get. Take a quick trip over the bridge and you will find some excellent salons, go to Edwards and your pocketbook will suffer, and your hair will not be so great. read more

For cut and highlights with style I've been looking for a comfortable place in Marin to get terrific highlights and an easy to maintain cut. A friend recommended Edward's and I couldn't be more pleased. I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and the smell of warm chocolate chip cookies that were just being placed in the waiting area. Not a bad start. After a consultation, Edward gave me a clean, modern cut and just the highlights I asked for. His prices are comparable to what I was paying in San Francisco, minus the bridge tolls and parking charges. No wonder my friend has been coming here for ages. I've been going to Edward's for a couple of years now and thought i should finally write a review since that is what got me there in the first place. 1st I have to say that i have a crazy schedule and when i need my hair done I have a small window to get in so I've seen several different stylist there and they are all GREAT! Never have i found a place where the stylist don't trip on me being in another stylist chair... they say that they realize keeping me in the salon is the most important part and since everyone feels the same Me the client always gets GREAT service. Prices do range but there are plenty $70 to $80 if you don't want to spend $100+ and the tea and cookies and other goodies are great too! I do feel like i get a great bang for my buck when i have a cappuccino and a piece of fruit... like flying 1st class over coach... sure you get to your destination but when in 1st... the trip is just better! :) read more

I am an older guy who was turning gray quickly; my wife convinced me to visit her colorist/stylist, Edward, at Edward's Saloon in Mill Valley, CA. Initially I was apprehensive about going to a salon that appeared to cater to the ladies but became immediately surprised with my first visit. Edward and staff made me feel quite comfortable. The shampoo was therapeutic - it relaxed me. Edward did a great job with the cut of my hair and even a better job with the color; I looked 10 years younger after his artwork but in a natural way. Edward highlighted my hair that blended into my natural gray color - no signs that it was a "dye job" and no questions at work by my co-workers. I have been a client of Edwards for over 10 years. Before discovering Edwards Salon I thought I had been to the best. Nothing compares to the cut and color I receive from Edward. I trust him completely and know that when I leave I will look and feel fabulous. Edward is a perfectionist and an artist and takes pride in every aspect, not just his work but in providing a relaxing atmosphere without the attitude I have seen in some upscale salons. Beyond Amazing.!! Not only was the salon beautiful, but the owner Edward is kind, easy-going and simply a pleasure to deal with. And funny! I have been to MANY other salons in Marin County, especially because I am a huge fan of Oribe Products (they are amazing!) and he was lucky enough to be one of the exclusive salons to carry that line. Edward himself is incredibly talented and always knows how to make me laugh and can get anyone to crack a smile. My cut was perfection and my color lasted the FULL 8 weeks. I have been to the salon a dozen times for everything from trims to cuts to full color and highlights. The entire staff is fun, friendly, up beat and just like a big family. They have always treated me wonderfully but they treat each other really well too, which is important to me. The staff seems to generally like to be there. I am not attached to a particular stylist because I like the interpretation that each one that I have been to has done. Emily has done a fab cut. Edward did great bangs on time after hours when I was in a crunch before a dinner party. Julie did great highlights...I could go on and on. The space is beautiful (and newly remodeled) and they carry my FAVORITE product line, Oribe. I most recently had an appointment with Jessica and she was just amazing. I have known Edward personally for approx. 20 years. He is an exceptional person in every way. He gives back to his community by being a "Big Brother" and giving haircuts to the homeless as well as sponsoring chairable events. He sincerely cares about humanity and relates well to any age group (young or old). As for his salon and workmanship, he offers you complimentary fresh baked cookies, fruit and use of a computer while you are having yorur hair done. I go right to the source and Edward is a genius! What he can do with highlights is equaled only by mother nature herself... I have had many people ask me if I really color my hair! That is the way highlights are supposed to look, sun-kissed and natural, and he understands. What's more, he and his staff go the extra mile to find products that truly work for my hair (dandruff... among other issues sadly!) and lifestyle. Not only is the interior design great - with soft colors and a fresh modern look, but they've got some great treats too! I am a complete fan of Edwards Salon, specifically Kathy as a stylist and Pam as a manicurist. I have a staff of 6 in my jewelry store, and 5 out of 6 of us, my sister, my nanny, and my daughter all go to Kathy. She is an expert at color and fabulous cuts, and she can always correct a color job that someone else has messed up. I love that she will do what you ask her to do, and not what she thinks you need to have, and she will give advice on what is best for your hair. Julie Casady has been my "one and only" for over a dozen years! Marin hairstylist legend, August Chemotti, cut my hair for over 20 years before his death. It wasn't easy finding someone of the same caliber and for me, it was also important to find someone that I really looked forward to seeing every six weeks. I recently had my hair styled/colored at Edwards's Salon in Mill Valley. Gennie was the BEST I have ever had. She knew how to adjust the hair to my liking and as well, could offer a superb color for my white hair. It wasn't as if Gennie just went forward with the style/color. I went in to get another Thermal Straightening and Edward told me about a different relaxing treatment called Keratin treatment. it cost half as much and made my hair feel AMAZING!!! no damage just extra conditioning and half the price. All that changed when I went back last week on Nina's recommendation to work with Kathleen. She is a treasure. A fantastic listener, patient. She loves what she does and that comes through. She's delightful company to boot. None of that would matter if the haircut and color didn't turn out great. I was not at all sure my hair could be salvaged after being razored and chopped in recent months. The color is dimensional and natural and the cut is terrific too. It feels wonderful to know I've re-found my way to a new hair home. And I got a bunch of spontaneous compliments!

She did my 97 year old moms hair and was very aware of her arthritis and made her comfortable. My mom was so happy with her new cut and how easy it will be to take care of. She was very accommodating and we scheduled one for a few hours after my call. I came in a little before my appointment and there was no wait. Dilsa was very personable and sweet, all while giving me a fresh cut. I'm very particular about my hair, and she made sure it was to my liking. As for styling, I'm usually not a fan of salon styling, only to go home and fix it. Dilsa gave me some beautiful curls that lasted all day. The price was reasonable and overall my experience was wonderful.
