I stumbled upon this Italian deli/bakery while in the Parma area and checked it out. The prepared food section is expansive and quite good! I bought a few things to try. The eggplant parm was very good, not the way I'm used to, it was rolled w/o any batter or breading. I thought it was a nice take and enjoyed it. Also got one meat & one veg lasagna, both were good as well. Then onto salads...the potato salad with sour cream was really good, I just added scallions at home. The chicken salad seems popular, but after having more than a taste, I felt the peas & carrots were too much for me. Then lastly, the Mac & ch served cold. An unusual way to serve, again seems super popular with the regulars. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. And there were a lot of regular customers coming & going! I'd love to have a place like this close to home for sure! Their pricing is very fair! At checkout I ordered a chick parm sub and it was huge! Served on a homemade roll and only $10! Everyone loved the food at our wedding! We had appetizers, two kinds of pasta, 3 sides and a salad. We also ordered tiramisu cake and coconut bars as part of the dessert tables. Everything looked and tasted delicious! It would have helped to have one designated person we could communicate with leading up to the wedding. There were 3 different people who took our order, and I was a bit stressed that something would be missed. One of our main dishes turned from angel hair + alfredo to chicken alfredo, so that was a surprise at the reception, because we printed all the food labels and we marked it as vegetarian. I first of all have driven by this place at least 100 times and never knew the amazing things they have inside. I found out about it through Facebook where people were voting on the best sandwich in Cleveland. The one answer that kept coming up was Gentiles. The Bazzard. I went in on a Sunday and it was a pretty decent crowd and it smelled amazing in there. The girl behind the counter was cutting fresh baked bread. I ended up spending over $50 and it was well worth it. All fresh food all tasted amazing. The peppers and onions and their Caprese salad was out of this world. They make the Caprese salad a little different with green peppers instead of basil and it was a very refreshing change. But the main event here is the Bazzard sub. All I can say is you've got to go in there and try it because it's a game changer. It's a warm Italian sub on fresh bread and I plan on going back frequently to get it and other things. You can get your cookies in larger batches or, if you're like me and want a bit of a snack, you can get a few in a little box and you're all set! My personal favorite are the focaccia pizzas - they have them in personal sizes so one or two for lunch and there's no chance you'll be hungry until dinner. Plus I've found them to be good hot and cold. Also I didn't see it on their menu but if you happen to see that they have Arancini di Riso out you should get them immediately. Italian rice balls with mozarella cheese. What more could you ask for? They also have day old pizzas and other bits and pieces on sale next to the register. The Store Yes you read correctly, there is a small grocery store inside with many of the basic ingredients you need to embark on your Italian recipes. The Staff Everyone who's ever helped me out has been incredibly pleasant. There's a friendly atmosphere, even in the kitchen visible through open-air-like windows behind the register. You will never leave this place with a frown! The Parking When looking at the store front your first reaction may be, "why are there like 7 parking spots?" Rock hard white and chocolate "spudmonti" sadly. Delicious soft marzipan flavored pignoli cookies. The Chinese cookie was very good given how crumbly they are at other places in a Cleveland.
