Lots of breakfast, brunch, and lunch options to choose from. Coffee is good and I thought it was a nice touch that they offered us to go cups to take a full cup of coffee with us! Terrible food, it came out cold and overpriced. The potatoes taste like cardboard, and the coffee tasted like water mixed with used grounds. Even worse service. Incompetent waitress spilled coffee all over me, ruining all my clothes and my shoes. You couldn't pay me any amount of money to return to this establishment. Service is great (as usual), they even brought out birthday pancakes because it was one of the guest's birthday. I built my own skillet and got onions and tomatoes with it and it was really good, the potatoes were crispy and the eggs were perfectly over medium. The salmon avocado toast and the farmers Benedict were also great, but the potatoes were cold at first and they brought out new ones, and these were warm but they were mushy and almost undercooked. I personally didn't have that experience with my skillet but it is something worth noting. Other than that, the environment was great and the restaurant was clean and home-y, I'll be back!! read more

Seems like a quality operation with all the things. Big menu with lots of choices. They are trying out fancy espresso coffees (these are not bad--a bit weak--but they are still woking towards excellence on this score). Nice peeps, effective team, big and clean dining room. read more

The service here every time is outstanding! They are very attentive and always give great recommendations after listening to what you're thinking of getting. The banana bread French toast has my heart. It is so so good, I don't know why more places haven't done this. It takes several things done right by a restaurant to impress me, and Egg Harbor did all these and more! The food....a fabulous choice of items with just the right amount of creativity added to familiar dishes. Choices...as a vegetarian, I so appreciate the ability to substitute meat with veggie sausage or select egg whites for a healthier option. All four dishes ordered were extremely tasty! A standout for me was their brown sugar/cinnamon/oat milk latte. How is this so much more delicious than what I make at home??!! I must know! Can confirm: this is the best breakfast spot in River North. It has a beautiful aesthetic for sure. But the food goes above and beyond (cause really who cares if a place is pretty if the food is subpar). The flavors... the freshness...the coffee bar within the restaurant! The service was very helpful and made substitutions for me upon request. They even have a whole menu devoted to gluten free friends. I saw another review said there was a wait, but I went at 9:30 on Saturday morning and had no wait. I'd say it was 75% full even when I left. So much to love. This will be a regular for me. For anyone trying to understand what it's like... It reminds me of First Watch a lot but a step above. I even would say it has surpassed Ann Sather's for a breakfast spot go-to. I ordered Joe's Healthy Scrambler with a biscuit (yum) instead of the English muffin, and an espresso shake with caramel. 10/10 read more

I hadn't seen or spent time with my Daddy in 8-years, so we decided when I flew in from Bali, to go enjoy a meal. By default, we were walking by the River North location as we wait-listed by another restaurant...but, we were NOT disappointed! We were welcomingly greeted upon entry and within the 5-minutes we were seated. The vibe (dining area) was clean, inviting and roomy; after reviewing the menu - we knew what we all wanted. The service was done in comfort as the host, Lisa, smiled and appeared to enjoy her occupation. We ordered: 1-Strawberry Orange juice with a Lobster Scrambler; 1-Hot Blossom Tea with a Bacon Bibimbap; and 1-California Club with 1-Water 'no-ice'. Food was plated nicely and delicious. We all took our remaining portions home. My Daddy said that he enjoyed the freshness of the sandwich; my daughter enjoyed her Bibimbap (just a bit too much 'pickled' items tho); and although I was comfortably full, I wanted to keep feeding on my Lobster Scrambler. The Lobster Scrambler was delicious - even as a dinner bite. I like the merge of seafood and the Hollandaise sauce mixed into my fav protein (eggs); also, I usually end up with too crunchy toast from the kitchen - so I have habit in asking for untoasted bread, but EH did just right with the lightly buttered English Muffin. And I'm not sure what the jam was that accompanied it, but it was DELICIOUS also. The KITCHEN CREW "did dat!". Again...I didn't get many names - but this dining chose ended up giving us a great family moment that was pleasing from the outdoor weather to the indoor vibes and food! Very good! The food was delicious I ordered the Avo-Rizo burrito with egg, chorizo, avocado and pepper jack cheese. It comes with a bowl of fruits and harbors potato. I also ordered the strawberry matcha latte and it was delicious. The service was fast and cordial. Don't need to wait long for the food. Egg Harbor on Wells is a delightful spot for a traditional American breakfast. The best part of our experience was the friendly and attentive service. Our waitress Debbie was amazing. The food is very good but not uniformly exceptional. Our pancakes were excellent, but our scramblers were a bit overcooked and our hash browns a bit oily. I would order the garden scrambler again, but with the eggs cooked a bit more gently. Portions were ample. They allow substitutions including various types of toast, pancakes, potatoes and sides. These folks aim to please. The coffee was pretty darn good. They left a whole pot on our table and even offered to give us paper cups to carry out the leftover coffee. I like that they have outdoor seating. However, it's on Wells St. directly in the morning sun. On a hot day, I wish they had umbrellas on the tables to offer a little shade. Overall, it's a nice place. Although not inexpensive, it offers a fair value. read more

Visiting Chicago decided to try this breakfast place close to our hotel. Nice atmosphere, great service and what's important we didn't wait too long for our order. My friend and I have been coming here for two days straight. And let me tell you it was amazing! We got a breakfast combo which includes a pan with an egg and 3 ingredients of your choice. Also, it came with banana bread toast, and a cup of fruit. The next day I asked to substitute the banana bread toast with cinnamon swirl pancakes and it was even better! I also got the caramel toffee latte which had a great quality espresso. My friend got a matcha latte and said it was one of the best ones since it didn't have this bitter aftertaste which matcha tends to have. 10/10 recommend this place! read more

The service was quick and friendly. However, none of the food I had was balanced or well made. I had a cappuccino that was huge, which might just be the way they do them, just isn't my preference. Then I had a scramble that tasted like it was mainly a brick of cheese with some egg and veggie bits in it. It wasn't well mixed so I was digging for some variety outside the cheese mixture. This is my favorite neighborhood brunch spot. I love their coffee, strawberry mimosas, pancakes and the Joes healthy scramble. They are so good about substituting ingredients and they always seat me right away. It's more of a family place not a typical Chicago party brunch spot. Service is great and chill vibes. read more
