Fair prices and delicious food, Egg House delivers really delivers when it comes to food. Service is also fairly quick and decor is simple but comfortable. Despite being quite busy, it isn't super difficult to park and tables cycle fairly fast. Food comes in very large potions at close to $10 an entree, of which you can easily save the second half for another meal. I really liked the chocolate chip peanut butter with banana malted pancakes which was a short stack of 3, but so huge it's larger than a full stack at some other places. Surprisingly the mix of the peanut butter and chocolate sauces weren't too sweet and this contrasted nicely with the soft bananas and crunchy chocolate chips. The caramelized apple stuffed french toast was also enormous with a full 3 slices of eggy french toast and warm but still slightly crunchy cinnamon apples that contrasted nicely with the pecans. The sweet cream cheese matched perfectly with the caramel sauce. The denver skillet was a nice savory mix of onions, peppers, cheddar cheese, with bacon substituted in my photo. Service was not good, they were understaffed although the food came quickly once we were able to get our servers attention to place our orders. I asked for an egg white omelet and when it arrived it clearly had the yolks. So, when I asked her if it was egg whites only, her reply was, it should be. Well, I don't want to be sick all day, so can you please check, and she found out that it was not whites only and had it remade. My husband really enjoyed his food, and the coffee was good too, but it took a long time to get a coffee refill. The space is cute, but over all....I would not hurry back. read more

The wait is usually about average but depending on how busy it is, sometimes your meal will come very quickly. The waiters always like to be friendly to you and are super nice about everything. Always on the look out for a new breakfast spot we gave this one a try and were delighted with our experience. We arrived early so there was not a crowd and the staff was happy to see us. Grabbing a booth by the front door we surveyed the menu, which is ample, and made some selections. Before we knew it we were stuffing our faces with food! I went with the Eggs Benedict, naturally (it's my go-to for new places), and enjoyed what I ate. I will say, the hollandaise was just a bit runny but everything tasted fine. While we ate our waitress checked in on us several times and everything went swimmingly. There really isn't much more to say other than that I recommend swinging by and having a bite here. Delicious local place in downtown Lombard! Went in on New Year's Day and didn't have a wait! Our waitress was so friendly and offered us a freshly squeeze orange juice mimosa. I didn't even get a photo of the full mimosa because it was SO delicious that i took a sip before the photo. You can see where they freshly squeeze the orange juice. For breakfast I got the avocado Benedict and it was so perfectly cooked and fresh. My husband got the country skillet with biscuits and those were so flaky and buttery in a delicious gravy. I've eaten breakfast here four times this month on two separate trips to visit Chicago from out of state. We enjoyed some Chicago staples, of course, but I have to say that Egg House was my favorite food from both trips! The food quality, variety, and portion sizes were unmatched. I have judged a breakfast restaurant by their pancakes. Egg House pancakes were exceptional; they had a bit of a nutty flavor to them (nutmeg? Buckwheat?). I finished the small stack. My waitress warned me that the "two eggs are like four eggs", she was not kidding either. Egg House has shredded hash brown potatoes or sliced potatoes grilled with onions. I went with the potatoes and onion option; it needed a bit of salt, but every table had a sea salt grinder to season to taste. Little neighborhood corner restaurant that has an updated diner feel but cozy. It was a snowy cold winter day when we visited and we were greeted warmly upon arrival. They have booths as well as tables and we got to pick our spot next to a window. The waitress was very attentive and kept coming back with water, hot coffee and to take empty plates. The menu is extensive and even though they don't have a ton of vegan options you can make some things work with tweaking. My husband loved the avocado eggs Benedict and said it had the right amount of Hollandaise to make it perfect. I had a skillet minute the eggs and cheese, so basically grilled veggies over hash browns. The waitress brought me some house made salsa which sliced it up a bit and made it perfect. The atmosphere is very quiet and respectful as well as local. A few come Stoner's were greeted by name and it definitely had the few of a place you would treat like hone. The portions are big and filling, and the coffee is good (very diner like in flavor but robust). We really loved watching the orange juice being squeezed with the fresh press that they have! The decor itself was lovely, and it was a homey vibe. The skillet itself was very tasty, though the portion size wasn't necessarily generous. It was a bit on the pricer side in terms of skillets. Overall, it was A-OK.
