    Fruit salad aka palate cleanser

Egg Pals is a breakfast sandwich (or sandy, as they call them) pop-up that's been mostly at Ramen Shop in Rockridge. They have bacon and a veggie sandwich option (which is currently roasted delicata squash) along with tots and fruit salad for sides. The sandwiches have 2 fried eggs, pickled onions, american cheese, and their secret sauce on a Starter Bakery brioche bun which combine for a delicious and decadent start to your day. They've been popping up with Molly's Refresher (https://mollysrefresher.com/) for the beverage side of things. Follow their instagram (https://www.instagram.com/eggpals/) to find out when & where they'll be popping up next.

Super fun pop-up. We tried three sandwiches and our favorite was the pickle one! Delicious and quick.

The absolute best egg sandwich. I wish I could get this every morning and twice of Fridays.

Apologies for those who for various reasons don't eat pork, but I love their Millionaire Bacon which is thick seasoned bacon. Their KFC, their version of Korean Fried Chicken is also really good, I've never had a bad experience with them. When I've gone for brunch somtimes they have been waits, but there is a lot of seating and their staff work pretty hard at turning around orders and turning over tables, they have seating outside on the sidewalk or parklet in addition to inside the restaurant, which I've utilized when I brought my dog. Kitchen Story fuses some good flavors together and their portion size is healthy relaive to the price. Check them out, and oh yeah.. try the bacon.

It has some fun fusion items on the menu and Millionaires bacon to turn heads, but that's probably the better dish on the menu. The Korean fried chicken and waffles were boneless, mostly breading, and the waffles were just OK. The espresso martini was pretty good and strong. I don't think I'd come back to make a reservation here. Perhaps if it was the only spot open to take my group in and we wanted a cute ish brunch.

The pop-up operated from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and we showed up at 9:45 a.m., the line was already down the block. There were three burrito options on the pop-up menu: - Chx colorado: mild chile CA red sauce, mayocoba, jack cheese - Huitlacoche: shiitakes and oyster mush, jack cheese, black beans - Bean & cheese: frijoles negros, cheddar, red + green sauce Of the three options, my wife and I ordered a huitlacoche and bean & cheese burrito. Our friend ordered one of the chicken burritos so I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to try all three. Of the three burritos, it was honestly hard to choose a favorite because each one was so different in taste. I will have to say though, the bean & cheese burrito, despite being the most "normal" one of the bunch, seemed to be the one that everyone would order again out of the three. The star of the show for me though was the tortillas. The tortillas were toothsome and were grilled to perfection. I'll definitely have to pick up a pack next time I'm shopping down the street at Berkeley Bowl. If you're able to catch Xulo at a pop-up, I would definitely make room in your schedule to do so. The burritos here are delicious.

Similar to my previous review for Year of the Snake, Xulo was the Saturday pop up off 8th Street in Berkeley with a few different burrito menu options for the day including their notable bean & cheese, a meat option, and veggie option. Omg, what a treat! Everyone was so incredibly nice, and you could tell they have a really special thing going. They were selling their hot sauce too, and that was fire! I would love to try more items, but it's so hard to say no to the classic bean and cheese. It's just such a classic and when done correctly, chef's kiss! I'll have my eye out for their next pop-up in the area, and will most def be purchasing those tortillas. On their website it lists markets that sell the packaged tortillas like Picnic in Albany and Berkeley Bowl..nice!

Their version of Adobo was so good that it inspired us to start adding coconut milk to our own recipe at home and we've never looked back. The restaurant itself is warm and inviting, with beautiful plants throughout that give it such a cozy, homey feel. The staff has always been welcoming, making every visit enjoyable. My personal favorites are the Calamansi drinks and the Palabok, both are absolutely delicious. If you're looking for creative Filipino food that still honors its roots, FOB Kitchen is definitely worth checking out.

We ordered the Adobo Fried Rice and Lechon Kawali Silog. The fried rice was fantastic--it had a nice crispy rice texture that really made the dish. I also liked the silog which came with very crispy pork, super flavorful garlic rice, a refreshing salad, and a citrusy dipping sauce that gave it a unique twist. Whatever you order, make sure to add their hot sauce! It definitely elevated each dish! The ambiance of the place was kind of boho chic and it was relatively empty at around 12:30pm on a Thursday. Service was nice, our waitress was prompt and paid a good amount of attention to us. I feel like they are a bit understaffed though, but that might be due to business being slower than usual during the time we went. Overall, I would recommend this spot to people look for Filipino food with a twist in the area. Would love to come back myself to try their lumpia, sticky wings, or desserts!
