Been eying this place for a while. Its located in the renovated Loards Ice cream, which Id been coming to since I was 10. The drew me to this was the Ribena Lemonade. ribena is a drink the th UK, Australia, but is a black currant drink.so combining with Lemonade was great. I ordered the Wentino and the Ribena Lemonade for pick up. The sandwich was a good size and really good the Ribena came with nice parchment like paper between the lid so that it didnt spill and sanitary. hot butt sandwich so good! second time getting it and enjoyed it as the first time. we got 2 hot butt sandwiches but one of them had more meat than the other. drinks definitely need improvement, last time i got drinks and i didn't like it. this time we got green Thai tea and mango passion fruit. both were ok. neither was too sweet tho so that's a plus! service took 10 mins just like last time. read more

Delicious sandwiches at Weslo's! An under the radar spot as it's located in a shared space with Loard's. Service was quick and friendly. There's a few tables outside for seating. We ordered the Hot Butt, The Weslo, Westino, Kimchi Chicken, and Wakobe. Overall, these are tasty and well balanced sandwiches! The meat is cut thin and it's a generous amount that they give. My favorite sandwiches were the Hot Butt and Wakobe! The others were solid as well, aside from the kimchi chicken which was a bit of a miss for us. It's nice bread that they use, crunchy and the perfect size. The drinks were good as well - the Thai green tea had a nice jasmine taste to it! Would definitely come back! Weslo's has the best sandwiches in the East Bay, hands down! I first tried them when my work catered lunch from there, and I couldn't wait to visit in person on my day off. It was even better than I expected! For me, a great sandwich is all about the bread-to-meat ratio, and Weslo's nails it. They use Acme bread and Boar's Head meats, which makes every bite feel like a little piece of heaven. Some of my top picks are the Wentino, Lemon Chicken, Weslo, and Hot Butt--each one's a winner. If you're thirsty, you have to try their Hong Kong milk tea or the mango passion fruit drink to go with your sandwich. Perfect pairing! Bonus: They're on DoorDash too! On the first visit, we tried the "Wentino" sandwich (loaded with meats and provolone cheese) and Hong Kong milk tea. The sandwich tasted amazing from first to the last bite, with meat in every bite! Mom and I stopped by to grab lunch for the fam and some ice cream from Loard's to go. Perfectly timed reopening as weather is starting to warm up. We've been in the neighborhood for years and have seen Loard's through its closing. Now with its reopening I was excited to check it out. They have upgraded the interior and have added Weslo's right to the side (sandwiches and fruit/milk teas)! I love milk tea, so I was super excited to see this addition to the neighborhood. My dad doesn't do carbs so we asked if there is a lettuce wrap version. That's not currently an option, but they did very kindly offer to turn the sando into a salad! Dad liked his salad! My mom liked her Wakobe sandwich, and I really enjoyed my Wentino! The Wentino is an italian sandwich. I'm usually a dunch crunch person, but they had run out of dutch crunch that day so I went with the french roll, which was totally fine. I'm not sure if the complimentary drinks were a part of soft opening or just out of their kind hearts lol, but it was very much appreciated! I was really surprised that I loved the Ribena lemonade the most, having totally looked over it while eyeing the menu. I also tried the mango passion fruit and thai green tea. The Thai green tea is florally, and not too sweet to begin with. They didn't have the coconut cream prepared yet, so I went I opted for the regular creamer for the thai green tea. It was still enjoyable but I'm curious to see what it would taste like with the coconut cream. I'll have to return to give it a try! Maybe with an ice cream topper perhaps? The man who helped us (sorry didn't catch his name, but maybe he is the store owner/manager) was amazing and super accommodating. We sampled the lemon chiffon, mango, coconut pineapple...all delicious! Mom decided to grab a tub of mango and lemon chiffon! We'll definitely coming back again. The willow is on the sweeter end with the fig spread but it got a good balance from the arugula. The hot butt is on the more savory end but they were both amazing in flavors. They're not those jumbo sandwiches but they're a good size. The HK milk tea is really creamy and milky whereas the phin coffee got a good balance of sweetness and bitterness. Ofcourse I picked Weslo's and ordered catering for the office meeting and it was a huge hit with everyone. People kept asking where it was from. Popped by cause I was craving Hong Kong milk tea, which is pretty hard to find. So glad I did! The milk tea really hit the spot, smooth and creamy but still with a strong tea flavor. The sandwiches also sounded unique, so we ended up getting the Willow and Kimchi Chicken. The staff was very helpful and patient with helping us pick. They even explained that their pickles are closer to Vietnamese/banh mi style since I don't normally like pickles. I really enjoyed the sweetness from the fig jam in the Willow. I wasn't sure about the Kimchi, but it was well-balanced with a light kimchi spread. I appreciate the Asian inspired flavors and love supporting a local business. Had the Willow sando at a catered birthday party, and wow... this sandwich was a standout. The combo of savory prosciutto with the sweetness of fig jam was perfect. Balanced, flavorful, and just different enough to feel special without being over the top. The presentation was also impressive. The platter looked beautiful, everything neatly arranged and super inviting. You could tell some care went into how it was put together, which made it feel a step above your average catered sandwich. Stumbled upon this looking for a quick bite to eat. This place has easy access from the 580 and no Oakland traffic. I only tried the Kimichi chicken sandwich and was pleasantly surprised. This was a great sandwich with kimichi spread but not too overpowering. Great balance of taste. The other important part of the sandwich which they did right was the bread. I have tried to many places that bread was a bad generic roll. This places uses great bread this is not your crappy cheapy French roll. DON'T let the funky location throw you off ( it is co-located with ice cream shop). Righ as you walk in, there are nice waiters that greet you and give you plenty of time to order. The sandwich shop is also connected to an ice cream store called loards. Everything we tried here was no less than perfect! It has a very chill atmosphere with some tables to maybe hand out and study while eating a sandwich or drinking some Thai tea and mill tea! We had the #8 Hot Butt and #6 Wakobe, and both were delicious. Each were different but the herb bread was good and the spreads were great - both the lemon spread and the aji verde. I also had the Mango Passionfruit tea, which was well balanced and not too sweet. I would definitely go back for another sandwich (but maybe build my own).
