This is my favorite Chinese restaurant. I use to live in Greenwood just down the street. Now that I have moved I still drive to Greenwood for lunch when I can. Talking to one of the owners on this visit she told me this location has been open for 18 years and they have had a restaurant in Greenwood for 40 years. I am pretty sure I have been going for 15 years. And I am have been eating the beef and broccoli lunch for all of those years. The price has has increased over the years but it is still under $8 for an entree fried rice an egg roll and a cup of soup. The food is fresh made to order and it comes out quick. This is a family owned and ran restaurant. I have been see the same faces over the years. I wish them many more years of business and hope they are training the next generation to take over one day. read more

I ordered the Cashew chicken combination, but did not come with eggroll and was up charged for the egg drop soup. Tangy beef was not spicy as indicated and not the biggest fan of the flavor Not the biggest fan of the breading on the orange chicken and cashew chicken because it got soggy and didn't stick well, the orange chicken sauce is good. This restaurant is part of a small local chain. It is located in a small strip mall behind the Little Cesar's. The parking lot is small and spots are at a premium. The resturant is an equally small dining area with a few booths. There is a single chair for those waiting for to-go orders to sit. Many end up just taking a seat on one of the booths. The dining area is a bit plain and has a classic feel. The restaurant serves not only egg rolls, as the name implies, they have you typical Chinese food fare including vegetable, pork, beef, shrimp and chicken dishes, chicken fried rice, and lomein. They have lunch specials which are a small portion of the regular meal. I got the teriyaki chicken lunch special, which came with an egg roll and some fried rice. I also got two extra egg rolls to round out my meal. The staff there were friendly, bit I will admit that I did not have much interaction with them. It took about 12 minutes for my lunch to be prepared. It was fresh and hot. It was not the best Chinese food that I had, but it was pretty good. If you are dining in they have the mustard and sweet and sour sauce in bottles on the table. They still have packets available for to-go orders. You can call your order into this restaurant prior to coming. I highly suggest doing this if you are getting an order to-go. This is a nice Chinese food restaurant and it can get packed, especially during lunch time. It is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. read more

The staff are all super friendly and the tables are always clean and wiped down. One of the waitresses always gives us free cookies which are my absolute favorite! The food overall is pretty good. The rice looks and taste like it's Instant Rice though. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant is clean. They allow free refills, but you have to ask for them at the counter. I was a little disappointed that they didn't offer Chicken Egg Rolls, only Pork. I have frequented this restaurant for about 20 years. Usually just whenever I'm in the mood for rice, chicken and crab Rangoon. The crab Rangoon here is sweet, which is perfect for me!! Today, I had you guessed it crab Rangoon and spicy lo mein with vegetables and pineapple. It was delicious!! I have to say I miss the mother and father team...but the younger generation is still so pleasant and nice. Having great customer service along with tasty food is right up my alley!! Great job!! The food, in my opinion, was terrible. It had no taste. The food tasted like the styrofoam containers they put it in for you to eat it while you're there. The rice was very dry. The food was not worth it. They can't even give you a regular plate, but they put it in styrofoam. This was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. They were very friendly, but yuck. I decided to eat here for lunch because it is really close to where I work. I ordered the Szechuan beef and a small order of crab Rangoon. Everything had a wonderful flavor. I loved the lunch also came with soup. I ordered them hot and sour soup. And it had an excellent flavor. The only thing missing was they didn't have any mushrooms in the soup, so I don't know if it was just my bowl or that's the way it comes but either way it was still really good. And also the lunch came with an egg roll. Now that I know that I like it I will be eating there frequently. So I usually go to Egg Roll Number 1 off of Emerson and let me tell you that they are not affiliated. No Vietnamese menu. This place is your all America Chinese food. For around $7 lunch, you'll get an entree, soup, egg roll and fried rice. You cannot beat the price! I had chicken and corn in a clear sauce. I love corn and wanted to see what this entree was all about. It was what it stated, chicken and corn with bamboo shoot in white clear sauce. Nothing exciting or special about it. Flavoring was ok. My husband got Hunan beef and it was above average compared to other fast food places. The flavoring was very tasteful and the beef was tender and juicy. Customer service was friendly and fast. Drove 30 mins to Greenwood to go to Lotus Gardens only to find they are out of business so drove across the street and wow what an awesome find! We ordered the combo appetizer (don't forget to order an extra egg roll as it only comes with 1) and he got the general chicken and I had to go with my fav, Kung Pao chicken. Everything was super delicious! The only down side was the atmosphere isn't very grand. It didn't phase my husband and I tho as the sweet man behind the counter was super welcoming and kind. He also has an amazing memory, remembering everyone's orders waiting for to-go orders, and is excellent at customer service! The music was also awesome! Crab rangoon was good. I ordered the General Tso chicken... I didnt care for it. I have never had General tso with the chicken used for sweet and sour chicken. It gives it a total different taste. I have eaten here on several occasions and have tried something different each time. The lunch special portions are generous in size and come with soup and an eggroll. The hot and sour soup is very good. The service is top shelf. I have been welcomed each time I have visited the resuarant. My food has been prepared promptly and delivered to my table with a smile. The owners take pride in the restuarant working to keep it clean. Customer service is exceptional. The Mongolian beef and the curry chicken are my favorites. Worst food I have ever tasted. They brunt my food and egg roll and then I asked could they possibly remake and they said all of their food comes out like that. I informed its a difference between cooked and bring. The chicken was extremely tough and I could not even bite into it. The man at the front and lady were very rude and tried to convince that's their food and would not remake. The man got loud at the front and I asked could he lower his voice so that I can hear and understand what he is saying and I informed him when you have a customer to talk to them with respect and to not yell at just an inquiry about their food. I have gone to this Chinese restaurant since I was in high school. It's one of my ALL-TIME favorites and I hope it never goes out of business. They have good size portion sizes and the food is always hot and ready. It's run by a kind family who are always welcoming. My favorite thing to order here is the chicken lo mein. It's FANTASTIC!! The owners are a husband and wife who take two weeks off every summer to go home to China to see family. When they go home, the restaurant is closed for two weeks. My husband always orders the soft noodle combo and he loves it. I typically order chicken and shrimp chop suey (yes, I know that's Americanized Chinese food and I'm very sorry). I love their hot and sour soup so I always order that as well. Whatever I order always tastes like it was just cooked and sent home with me. The vegetables are always brightly-colored and still crispy, the soup has tons of flavor and is the right consistency. And I love that they still use the paper boxes. I've come to ER#1 since I was about 10 and it was still next to the old Green Acres bar. It's quality American Chinese. It's about the cleanest restaurant I've ever been to and the food is good, consistent and the service is very friendly. Good people who are invested in their community! My husband loves the beef stuck and shrimp and beef fried rice (I call it surf and turf fried rice, lol). I'm a sucker for their crab rangoon but also enjoy the crispy honey chicken and chicken fried rice. Have a cold? Try the egg drop soup - a staple cure from my youth!
