What a friendly place! When we walked in the hostess was so cheery and helpful and welcomed us profusely. It was a fun start to our meal! There menu is rather extensive so if you don't know much about Chinese food I suggest a google search while perusing the menu, or asking the waitress. The room is small but has plenty of booths and tables and is tastefully decorated with Chinese lanterns and fans. A fried dough with sauce was brought out to us as a free appetizer which was nice. They have lunch specials for a good price but you can order anything off the menu all day. I got the vegetable delight lunch special which came with my choice of soup, an egg roll, rice and the veggies in a sweet sauce. Not knowing much about Chinese food I might try for something more 'exotic' next time but this was flavorful and filling. The egg drop soup was a bit thick for me, but it had nice flavors. The veggies were crisp and a variety which I loved. Others got beef moo shu and loved it. And now that I know what might be a good option I'll try veggie moo shu next time. First time visit here as I've been craving moo shu pork and this location in Southport is close to home. The inside was decorated with some fun pops of color and art, they weren't busy but steady lunch traffic, both dine in and takeout. Service was great, very fast if ordering from the lunch specials. Their moo shu pork is only offered with a dinner menu, but that's fine with me, it was worth it to get that amazing sauce! I'm used to everything being served separately, rather than rolled into the pancake for me, but that was less messy. And the portion size was big, so 1 enjoyed there and 1 to be enjoyed tomorrow. I also ordered one to go to deliver to my mom, the kitchen very kindly waited to start it so it was ready exactly when we were ready to pay the bill and leave, and was packaged well so still hot once home. This is a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant. You may pass it and don't even realize it's sitting over there. Came here on a Wednesday around 6:30. When we walked in there was just one other couple there so plenty of seating and no wait without reservations. The server was nice, a little hard to understand but nice. The food came out quickly and it was nice size portions. The food doesn't taste like your typical Chinese food. They put a different type of spice or something. Their chicken also really tastes like chicken. Sometimes you know with Chinese food it can be a little rubbery but this place does a good job with theirs. Price point a little higher than normal but not crazy. Parking is free also and there is plenty of it. If you live in the area it's worth stopping. Today I ordered some egg rolls for takeout. I went and picked it up and the lady at the register was super friendly and polite. The last time I was here I ordered Hunan beef and it was really good much better than the place down the street that I ordered from.The restaurant is a little small inside but there were plenty of people enjoying lunch, nice atmosphere. In korea, Chinese immigrants opened restaurants and served Korean styled Chinese food which is slightly different from the mainland. Black noodle and Jjambbong are the most popular items. I love this place, it is family owned seat down Chinese restaurant, one of the last few Indy, they have been operating for 31 years and the guy that started it is still running it. Their food is good and they have great rotating dinner specials, the servings are huge! I can say that 2 dinner orders can feed 3-4 people depends on how hungry you are. I suggest getting their Mongolian beef because it is delicious. All their food is made to order so don't expect your food to be brought out within 3 mins. We've eaten here many times and have yet to have a negative experience. The food is consistently delicious. And, this is not the typical chinese restaurant. The sauces are each unique. Tonight I had Wor Shu chicken which was absolutely delicious. And I shared crab angels which are some of the best crab wontons I've ever had. I ordered takeout from here earlier today I ordered general tso's chicken (not what I expected it to be) very disappointing with fried rice which ended up being white steamed rice with a few small pieces of egg in it (that's not fried riced) I also ordered crab Rangoon but no sauce was provided and was over cooked so was not good I also ordered pot stickers which were hard af no silverware or napkins were provided and I'm staying in a hotel so had to eat with my hands... the only thing that turned out ok was the sugar biscuits but still I'll never eat here again and what a waste of money read more

We rarely eat Chinese food because I have yet to find a Chinese restaurant worthy of a repeat visit. We saw great reviews on Yelp! so we thought we'd give it a try. While the restaurant isn't particularly fancy ( it doesn't look like it has had it's interior updated for 10-20+ years) it isn't bad. The staff is extremely friendly, accommodating and helpful. We ordered sesame chicken, cashew chicken, egg drop soup, chicken lo mein and crab rangoons. It was all excellent and a much better quality than I would have ever thought I could find in the Midwest!!! The service was excellent and quantities were generous. It was good enough that we have already visited again, ordering the same dishes. At this point, I am anxious to give everything on their menu a try. This is such a treasure! It definitely feels like hasn't had a remodel since the 90s but that's part of the nostalgic atmosphere. Servers are very attentive and kind. The menu feels like it draws inspiration from Cantonese, Szechuan, and of course Americanized Chinese food. Almost everything I've tried has been very good. Pretty eh. Bf and I decided to go here because our usual place was closed and we really wanted Chinese food. He ordered the orange chicken and I ordered the Hunan Beef and we both had the egg rolls. Starting off, the egg rolls were gummy, chewy, and not the crunchiness we expected based off how they looked. I only ate half of mine. Not sure if the egg rolls were pre-packaged but it was mostly cabbage and had no flavor. His orange chicken was mostly dough with sickly sweet orange sauce. His fried rice looked like rice with yellow food coloring. There was no fried to his rice at all not flavor. The Hunan beef was ok, but the menu indicated that it was spicy. Spicy where? Lots of veggies with the beef, which I always enjoy. Overall, we're not going back and we both had stomach aches after eating. Evidently the original owners sold this sometime in 2021. Went there last night since it was a favorite restaurant. Used to be... is not now. The egg drop soup was salty.. did not taste fresh. Ordered the Mongolian Beef which is tender beef cooked with scallions. The beef was burnt and there were no scallions. Only cut up onions. The sister-in-law (it was her birthday) had cashew chicken. Half of the dish was chopped celery which she didn't eat and it was so very clear that the cashews were not a part of the dish as just tossed on the top right before it was served. The husband had General Tso's beef dish. Should have been spicy but it was only spicy in that you could smell the spices... didn't really taste that good. Overall - not good. Just found out that the owners had sold last night, but we had been going there for decades mainly for the owner who was a truly remarkable chef. Will not return - very disappointed. read more
