As soon as I walked in the door there was an unpleasant smell not sure what it was. The inside is not appealing either. I only found this place by looking for a close Chinese restaurant when I was driving home. I wanted wonton soup and crab Rangoon I also ordered cashew chicken to share with my mom. I usually do not like the wonton soup when it is brown but it was good. The crab Rangoon had a funny taste. Not a fan. This restaurant has a decent sized dining area but it is currently not open for dining. They are only accepting carry out or delivery. You can place your order online or call it in. There is an adequate amount of parking spots available in the lot that it shares with the other business in the strip mall that it is in. The staff was ok. They were not rude, but they sure were not overly friendly. They just did their job. They serve you typical Chinese food, and you can get most items in as a lunch or a platter, with the main difference being the platter is a larger serving and comes with an egg roll. I will admit, they do have some very reasonable prices. I ordered the sesame chicken platter with noddles. It was prepared very quickly. It took about 5 minutes. I got my food home and it was still pipinhg hot. It tasted ok. Your typical Chinese food carry out. It was not authentic or memorable. It filled my belly and did what it was supposed to do. The egg roll that came with the platter was the same, just average. The one thing this place has going for it is that is one of only a few Chinese food restaurants in the area. This spot will do for me in a pinch, but I would probably hit up another Chienese food spot, that may be a bit further of a drive, to satisfy my Chinese food craving. read more

After my sister-in-law raved about this place, my husband and I rushed to try it that week. Oh, dear...I am sorry to say it was a completely underwhelming experience. The only things that you could taste in the crab Rangoon were oil and cream cheese--barely any green onion or imitation crab to speak of at all. The fried rice wasn't even brown, and the vegetables were not steamed. My husband got bourbon chicken, and he said it tasted like it came from a frozen food box. Ordered lunch from Bamboo today. Have eaten there a few times the last few years. It isn't great but show me a good chinese restaurant on the Southside and I will buy you lunch. Today I ordered the szechuan chicken combo. The combo come with a lunch portion of the entree with fried or white rice and an eggroll. This was easily the worst meal I have had in several years. The szechuan chicken was in a tomato sauce or something similar. I asked for it to be extra spicy and it was more sweet than anything. Fried rice was also below average. This is the first review that I can recall giving but I want to warn others. I love chinese food. I would pay a premium for some good chinese. I wish someone would decide to open a chinese restaurant and choose to have good food instead of the norn around here. They serve delicious general Tso chicken with just enough spice. Personally I like a bit of zing to my meal although some family members find it too much. The food is prepared on time from when they say it will be ready and it's always fresh. read more

My noodles were too salty. The rice was average. I did like that they put corn, peas and carrots in the rice. Usually don't see corn in Chinese rice. Consistently good. This has become our go to carry out option. Hot and sour soup is amazing as well as Hunan chicken and moo goo gai pan.

So we tried someplace new ans the food was really tasty. Great lemon chicken, sweet and Sour and a good spicy orange. With Bamboo being less than a minute drive from my home my wife and I eat here more than usual. My wife likes it quite a bit more than I. I prefer brown fried rice where she prefers the yellow rice that bamboo offers. I've had the Bourbon Chicken and the General Tso's. Both are good. My go-to is the General Tso combo with the yellow rice(fried rice). I usually get a side of Shrimp Lo Mein but we have recently discovered that they have Rice Noodles with Chicken. The Combo comes with an egg roll. Overall the food isn't bad. Like I said I just prefer a more authentic Chinese food experience. If my wife were writing this review it would be 5 stars. Since COVID they do not offer indoor seating. You have to call ahead and when you arrive you look through the window where there is a table with orders sitting on it. You look to see if you order is on the table. If it is you enter the breezeway where they will cash you out if you have not paid yet. If you have paid they simply hand you your food through a partition and your in your way. The whole process is completely contactless. I stopped in for lunch on Saturday since I was in the Greenwood area. Since it was raining, I decided to eat in the comfortably spaced dining area. Since there was only one person running the front of the business, I placed my order at the counter instead of waiting for her to come to me. I selected several appetizers as well as an entree. To start off, I went with the Won Ton Soup (smaller size). It came with three slightly larger than comfortable bite sized won ton in a clear soup. The soup itself was delicious, with a bit of saltiness to perk up the flavor. The noodles were tender and had a pork sausage wrapped inside. The pork itself was rather one note in flavor...i.e. bland. It had nice visual appeal and overall good taste, but didn't have any "wow" factor. My second appetizer was the "Dumplings" which I have ordered elsewhere as Gyoza or "Potstickers". I went with the pan fried choice because I like how the noodle portion takes on another level of flavor when crisped. The inside of the dumpling had a combination of a more spicy pork than the soup and some shredded vegetables. Oh, and the dipping sauce was delicious with its multilevel flavoring. Highly recommended, this appetizer comes with seven per order. For my entree, I went with the Broccoli with Beef (I got a free side of white rice with the order). The plentiful portion had nicely cooked broccoli that had a bit of crunch, but was easy to chew. The beef was thinly sliced and generously sized. Maybe a tad overcooked, but not beyond reasonableness since the beef always keeps cooking when surrounded by hot veggies. The sauce was sufficient enough to coat all the meat and broccoli, but was just okay in flavor. Nothing really stood out about the coating. The service was courteous and efficient. Typically we eat out every Sunday after church. We were burnt out on the places in our normal rotation and were up for suggestions. Our daughter suggested Chinese and I turned to Yelp for reviews. We decided on Bamboo based on reviews and, if I'm honest, on the way there dreaded that it would be the stereotypical "dirty" Chinese restaurant. How wrong I was! It was VERY, VERY CLEAN and pleasant! The young man at the cash register greeted us and sat us at a table. I was just blown away with the decor and booths, tables and chairs being so nice. It was obvious to me that the owner has high standards and it made our lunch super pleasant and enjoyable. One of the Yelp! reviews suggested the crab rangoons so we ordered some as an appetizer and they did not disappoint! My husband and I split the order and fought for the last one. We ordered Cashew Chicken combo, Beef with Broccoli combo and Mongolian Beef dinner. ALL were superior in taste and appearance to any Chinese restaurant we've ever eaten at in Indiana! We just didn't expect it to be this good especially for a "neighborhood joint" in a strip mall. I wholeheartedly recommend them and can't wait to eat there again next Sunday! read more
