Classic Eggs Benedict with Hash Brown Casserole
    Elaine P.

We've been vacationing in Bonita Springs for more than a dozen years, but this was our first visit to Poached. It probably won't be our last. Great breakfast and lunch menu. Hard to make a choice with so many appealing options. DH enjoyed his Classic Eggs Benedict with Hash Brown Casserole. I opted for a seasonal lunch special: a scoop of chicken salad with cranberries on a bed of greens with apple, pinepple, candied pecans, cucumber, etc. Came with a cup of tomato soup (which I did not finish) and a slice of spice bread. I also had a mimosa. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. The interior is rather plain and could use some refreshing. Seemed a bit tired and dated.

    The American

Poached 10/15/2024 - Bonita Springs, FL Poached is a welcoming and clean restaurant located in a shopping center. Our waitress, Melany, was exceptionally friendly and pleasant. I ordered the American Breakfast ($12.99) along with iced tea ($3.25). The breakfast included two eggs, toast, fresh seasonal fruit, a choice of potatoes, and a selection of proteins--bacon, sausage, ham, kielbasa, apple chicken sausage, Canadian bacon, or corned beef hash. My eggs were cooked perfectly over-easy, but I requested the bacon well done, and it ended up a bit too crisp--my mistake. I opted to skip the potatoes and was offered extra fruit, which I gladly accepted. However, half of the fruit was a bit under-ripe, which was disappointing. As a thoughtful touch, our server offered us iced tea to go, which I thought was incredibly kind. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Poached. The photos are from their website.

Very friendly service and big portions, however, sausage gravy and the plain scrambled eggs had an unusual flavor. The flavor was just a little off putting, something that just doesn't belong. The stuft french toast was very good and so was the hashbrown casserole. A solid 3 stars.

Very nice breakfast spot! Lots of outdoor seating. Wonderful gentleman serving as host. Good service. Really cool artwork throughout restaurant. We had the 2 and too with kielbasa and the fire starter Benedict. We also ordered the hash brown casserole which was crispy and delicious.

I thought it was pretty tasty, just not spectacular. The pastrami was seasoned well but a bit dry, and I prefer thicker pieces of rye bread on a rueben. My husband, our two kids, and our puppy stopped by after a fun day at the dog park, hoping to enjoy a nice breakfast outdoors. We were told there would be a 15-20 minute wait, which wasn't a big deal. However, after waiting for about 15 minutes and seeing two 2-top tables open up, I asked the hostess if we could split up to sit at those tables. We were ready to order right away and even agreed to pay separate bills if necessary. Her response? That was against the restaurant's policy, and if we didn't like it, we were free to leave. I was a bit taken aback by the bluntness, but my husband urged me to let it go. We ended up waiting almost an hour for a table, but at that point, it was hard to enjoy the breakfast with that kind of treatment lingering in the back of my mind. As for the food, it didn't help much. My son ordered the pork chops, and they came out resembling something closer to pork jerky. It's a good thing he still has all his teeth! Unfortunately, the quality of the food has definitely declined, which seems to align with what other reviews have been saying lately. Overall, while the restaurant is clearly doing well enough to not care about customer feedback, it's hard to recommend it when there are so many other places that treat their customers better. We probably won't be back anytime soon, but good luck to them--being busy enough to tell people to leave must be nice.

Some dishes are made with different/better ingredients here. Presentation is better. The interior is really nice and actually comfortable. The staff here is really great, too. We make the drive for those reasons. I tend to get shrimp in various forms, favorite being Boom Boom (although they're too heavy on sauce). Grouper sandwich is good. The fried apps are really really good. Salads are good. Husband likes the soups. Burgers and other sandwiches are repeat orders at my table. Most things on the menu seem to be hand cut/made. Certain things are locally sourced (says on back of menu). I think it's good food and large portions for the price. For the area, definitely!

This particular diner had something else I was interested in, a robot food runner. My breakfast of choice was their Meat Lover's Omelet, an omelet that had cheddar cheese, cubes of ham, some ground sausage, and included in there someplace were little pieces of bacon. As far as omelets go, this one was average, nothing out of the ordinary. They didn't have their Home Fries, so my side was hash browns, which are almost designed to be uniformly average. 41 Diner has a definite diner look from the outside, inside didn't have neon or chrome but it's a large comfortable place not unlike a favorite diner. It was almost empty when I stopped in. My service was great and the food didn't take long at all to arrive. As for the robot, I didn't get to see it in action. Because they weren't really busy and I was a single diner i.e. not many plates to bring to my table, my food was delivered normally. At the end of my meal I did ask about the robot and learned they do use it. They can load it up and have it go to any table. The server will transfer the dishes to the table and send the robot back to wherever it hangs out. She told me it was very helpful and even offered to demo it for me. Here is an old school diner with point of sale checkout machines and a robot. Cool.

-- A Rooftop Gem Where You Feel Like Family…read more I'll be upfront -- I have social anxiety, and crowds can be genuinely overwhelming for me. My first evening up at Tigress's rooftop, I walked into a packed house with no reservation, and it was simply too much. Rather than give up, I called the restaurant shortly before close and asked about reserving a table for the following night. Just one person. What happened next genuinely surprised me. They were absolutely fabulous. Not only did they accommodate me without hesitation, they reserved me a spot in the bar area and had it ready the moment I arrived. The second I stepped off that elevator, I was greeted by name, welcomed warmly, and made to feel like I belonged there. It wasn't a restaurant experience -- it was a Cheers experience. You know the show. That's exactly what it felt like. Service was prompt and attentive from the start. My drink order was taken and delivered quickly, and when I asked for a menu recommendation, the staff guided me toward their signature crab fried rice -- and I am so glad they did. This dish is unlike anything I've had at any Thai restaurant, and I've had crab fried rice at quite a few. The blend of ingredients Tigress uses is truly special. Every element comes together in a way that feels almost magical. Worth every single penny. I've seen a few complaints about pricing, but when you consider the quality of ingredients that must go into this dish and the skill required to execute it -- the price is more than fair. Sincere applause to the entire staff for their grace and kindness. A standing ovation to the chef on duty that evening, and deep gratitude to the executive chef who curated this menu. And special recognition to the bar team -- their craft cocktails are clearly designed to complement the food beautifully. I will absolutely be back. Tigress has earned a loyal guest.

Our server was very nice and conversational, however, I think she might have a habit for forgetting to do something unless she does it right away. Before finishing explaining the sauces with the shrimp crudite, we asked a question and she immediately went to go grab another dip and didn't finish explaining the sauces. I was disappointed in the bananas foster waffles. it said there was banana caramel, and then as a separate item, it said peanut butter maple. I asked probably 2 or 3 different times where the peanut butter maple was as i had gotten my toppings on the side after seeing an order that was drenched go past my table. the first answer i received was that it was the sauce i had in front of me. it was not. it was the caramel. the next time i asked, i was told that the peanut butter and caramel are the same sauce. again, no peanut butter flavor in the sauce. the peanut butter was the thing i was looking forward to the most on the waffle, and by the time she offered to just bring me peanut butter i was almost done with it. i will say that it is a very dense waffle and difficult to cut. i'm not sure if it is supposed to be this way, but i had to use some force to cut into what i thought was going to be a fluffy waffle. we had empty water glasses on our table for quite some time with multiple people passing before being refilled. it wasn't until more people cleared out that we were able to get more water. the cinnamon roll thing: a very nice gesture from the restaurant for birthdays. the cinnamon toast crunch on the outside was nice and crunchy, the caramel gelato between layers was smooth, but the roll itself is a different story. like the waffle, it was dense. not sure if that's because it's served cold but we will chalk it up to that, but the cream cheese frosting has chili and paprika in it! so while we were eating it, all of our throats starting to have a spicy burny feeling in the back. imagine red hots candy for flavor profile. we didn't find out until asking that it has the extra spice in it. just something to note, it might need to be added to server explanation that there is the added spicy element, as there are a lot of people who do not enjoy spicy foods. I stand by my previous reviews that Tigress is strictly a drinks and app place.
