Delicious. Took the in-laws here (who are from India) while visiting NYC. We had Boil Fry, Goti Fry, Volcano Biryani, and a paneer Bombay sandwich for my MIL who doesn't eat eggs. If you don't care about what you're putting into your stomach and you do not care of eventually getting a heart disease you can come here. We ordered 3 curries from here yesterday (Anda Lahori, Maniac curry and Green Egg curry) and the amount of oil/butter and salt this restaurant uses is RIDICULOUS!! If Egg Mania was a country they would be part of OPEC. When we got our order, the containers were leaking oil. When we opened the containers you could see the heavier/ actual part of the curry had settled at the bottom leaving almost half an inch of oil to float at the top. It was the same with the other two. I poured the excess oil into another bowl because nobody should be putting that into their bodies. I have attached a screenshot and this was just the excess oil floating on top and what i could manage to pour out. The curries themselves were so salty and combined with the buttered bread they give with it, it is enough to make you sick. Egg Mania if you're reading this, Please stop trying to give your customers a heart disease and a reason to not order from you because all in all your food has potential and taste but if it's well being vs your food I think i'll choose the former. read more

Eggomania is the most unique Indian food joint I've been to outside of India. The owner has travelled all over India to cultivate the best Indian egg based dishes & curries. He brings them back to jersey and makes his patrons happy! Most of the items have eggs, some sort of spice, a gravy of some kind, and lots of deliciousness. Almost all dishes are served with toasted soft white bread. If you want rice to soak up more of the curry broth from your dishes, get the jeera rice. I have had (I'm probably gonna spell all of this wrong): Shruti gotala - shredded egg whites with a broth / sauce of tomatoes, onions, chilis, etc. DELICIOUS. Tikka Boil - tasted like amazing chicken curry without the chicken, and with pieces of egg whites that have been soaked in the tikka sauce. Medium spicy - and smells / tastes like the stuff dreams are made of. Lasson fry - sunny side up egg with a garlic curry sauce. Super garlicky and super yummy. The eggs are sort of poached and become runny when you cut into the yolk. The result - amazing tastes. Raju fry - poached egg triangles with onion, tomato, and garlic, coriander, and chili. Simple & oily & delicious. Bit of a chaat masala flavor. The raw onions are a good deal crunchy which is a good off set vs the creamier dishes. I can't wait to go back and try more. If you get there and feel a little lost, just ask the servers. The staff is fantastic and has never led us down a wrong path. Basically, go here hungry. And eat well! Everything I've tried absolutely blew me away. Just an FYI - not a fancy spot. Think trays, plastic plates, etc. Sort of part of the charm. Even the bread is nicely buttered and toasted. be forewarned, you might need to order more bread since the portion sizes are fairly large. Be careful of the spice level too. If you're not used to intense indian spices, don't get the dishes super spicy or you will pay on the can later. We ordered the goti fry and the volcano biriyani. The flavors were bold. I really appreciate that they don't shy away from using a lot of spice, and that they don't cheapen it by using a ton of salt. The goti fry comes with three slices of white bread. You have to order roti separately. The slices of egg make it deceptively hearty. The volcano biriyani is tasty, but really heavy. Combined with the goti fry, it was all a bit much. Between the two of us, we could only eat half of it. The lassi was too sweet but it was a necessary order to temper down the spice. The flavors of the food was good, but leaning too hard on the spicy side. I would recommend getting something light if you also want something heavy. I have never been to a restaurant which doesn't offer water until I visited EggOMania Jersey city. The waiter told us they do not give water and we will need to buy bottled water. The service was extremely poor. We had to ask for spoons and napkins multiple times. I got frustrated and even went and stood at the counter and asked for napkins. The person in charge saw me, acknowledged that he heard me, and made me wait while he was busy taking an order on the phone and multi tasking by doing other things. But the napkins were right behind him. It would have taken him 5 seconds to give me those damned napkins! I tried asking someone else to which he said to me in sign language, "wait I will give you napkins", but he went on talking on the phone. I asked one more time, quite loudly this time, "don't you have any napkins?". Finally another person came and gave me napkins. Maybe they expected me to give them money for paper napkins like how they expect money for water? We ordered 4 items. Two of them were pretty good in terms of taste. What I found somewhat odd, is that when we were trying to order second time, the guy at the booth told us about 1 hour delay.
