Overall a disappointment. Butter Chicken included a total of three pieces of chicken, all of which were mostly bone. Without the bone, maybe 2 oz chicken max. Lots of sauce, though. 3-piece samosas had good flavor, though not particularly crispy...kinda soggy. Chole was fine. They didn't have naan. How do you not have naan? A casual / walk-in spot with plenty of tables. Have been here twice, most recently to enjoy a long lunch with a group of friends. The service was excellent and we were not rushed at all. The food is spot-on. It had the right amount of spice and all the right sauces and seasonings. Such a hidden gem! Stored in the quite corner behind the Newport Mall is a quaint little Indian Cafe. The food is very good quality and served hot. The service is friendly and open to feedback. All other Indian restaurants in the area offer heavy main course dishes with Naan, but this cafe offers a distinct variety of street food, which is such a treat! I really don't understand who these people are who are posting 4 and 5 stars .. this place is a morbid misrepresentation of its name "Bombay Vada House" .. my dear friend .. have you ever been to Bombay ? Or even tried a real Vada Pav ? Cause what you serve there is what Taco Bell represents to Mexican cuisine. Also, the rest of the food was horrible .. the Chana seemed like packaged food and I am 100% sure the "kulcha" was basically Costco Naan reheated. I don't think they have a live kitchen and the food is just assembled and reheated there. Not good. Veggie sandwich wasn't good, no flavor, no seasoning. Had a really uninviting taste of cloves like so specific and pungent that it was all you tasted! Vada Pav/Dabelli - not good , they used hamdburger buns. Pav Bhajji - really strong spice that tasted like fish sauce or something really sharp that doesn't belong. I ended up trying out the vada pav, dabeli, BHEL puri and of course chai. I think the dabeli was prepared very nicely and I appreciate all of the food being nice and warm when being served. Not sure why they call is Kathi Roll, nothing was crispy, there was no sauce, everything was falling apart and it was too spicy. Flavor 5/10. Spicy Chicken Wings: 4 Wings for $12.99, seems unreasonable, I can understand if the flavor was extraordinary but it was 6/10. Chicken tikka Roll: In Grubhub menu it says, two pieces but got only one. Same as Chicken 65 Roll, chicken rolled in not well made chapati, no sauce. Flavor 5/10 Soups: Not sure what they used as broth but it did not taste like vegetable or chicken broth, it was something else, creamy, tasteless. Flavor: 3/10. Not surprising that there were no napkins, utensils, etc. Disappointing is not even a word for $90 order. If you're looking for delicious, authentic Indian cuisine, this is your place. I came here with my best friend and a few other friends for Diwali. We went family style to try a variety of dishes. The food here is incredible! The Dhai Puri and the Pani Puri are my absolute favorite and are made to perfection. The Bombay Cheese Sandwiches hit the spot as well as the Dabili and Wada Pau. As if the food isn't enough, the tall ceilings give the restaurant a bright, open-air atmosphere. The staff are very polite and welcoming, adding to the positive energy you feel from the moment you walk in. While I've eaten lots of Indian food, I usually have friends that order for me. The man behind the counter was very patient with all of my questions. Being a downtown jersey city restaurant, there wasn't good Indian street food options and nearest options were in Journal Square. Bombay Vada House has tapped into this space. We tried out Vada Pav, Panic Puri and Bimbay Grill. Everything was good and taste was authentic. Hopefully, they are able to maintain consistency of taste. read more

This place doesn't even deserve a single star but it won't let me post the review without atleast one star. The vada pav was disgraceful. They served a flat potato patty with the round buns and no chutney. Basically just a patty (not vada) in between American buns. I don't get it how does a place which calls itself vada house can serve that thing and call it vada pav. Never going back there. read more

They just heated frozen parantha and served as Lachcha parantha.Kadai Paneer was no where close, I had to remove lterally half glass of oil to eat it.
