Their bubble tea tastes good and I grew up in Taiwan (where it originated!). Not only that, I love their Korean Spicy Pork, as it is very delicious, although beware, they do not take the word "spicy" lightly. Tried their samosas and they were very good, as was their fried rice, which tastes like it is made out of a more glutinous rice, is yummy just the same. I tried the Egg Roll cafe on a Saturday night with a couple friends; I had never been before. I got the Gao Chicken bento box, which came with white rice and I also got two veggie egg rolls. Service was very friendly, and the inside of the cafe was really cute & welcoming. Food came out quickly & was very good! The egg rolls were crispy & flavorful. I love the eggrolls here. We sometimes pick up party platters to serve at family gatherings and they are always a hit. The crab rangoon and the cheeseburger eggrolls are my favorite. Definitely check this place out. We haven't tried the bento boxes yet, but may do so in the future. read more

Wow! I'm really impressed! I went to the restaurant after seeing all the rave reviews and I'm now a fan. I love the chicken curry soup with noodles and the egg rolls are very tasty, too. I was looking for something new to try for lunch and I'm very happy that I went there. I look forward to trying more things on their menu. :) The only thing that some people may not like is that there isn't a parking lot. But there's plenty of metered spaces on the street so as long as you know how to parallel park you are all set. read more

I ate at the EC first in March. The Island chicken bento box was AMAZING. Flavorful, juicy, melt in your mouth. The portion was great and rice perfectly cooked. I also tried eggrolls, really imaginative and tasty. I told everyone about this great place. Since then I have eaten their 3 more time. Tried the Island chicken bento box twice since first time and the meat was disgusting. Dark meat filled with grisly fat and knuckles. YUCK! The rice was an overcooked sticky mess. The food was not anywhere near the same quality as the first time. Then I tried the Okanawa BBQ on the last visit to see if the place could be salvaged. Unfortunately no. The pork was D-R-Y and tough. The flavoring was good, just wish the meat it was on was good to enjoy it. Rice was OK this time. The eggrolls are consistantly good but the meat in the Bento boxes is gross. For the price they should invest in some better quality chicken and a better cook. Damn, I really wanted to love this place which is why I gave it 4 tries. read more

This place is cheap, ethnic and delicious: just the way I like it. Came here with the boyfriend on a Jack Kerouac pilgrimage and we both raved about it for the rest of the day--and are still raving about it. I had the curry soup and the BC bubble tea (I could get addicted to that stuff). Both were delicious, my only complaint being that the green beans in my soup were less than firm. Boyfriend had an eggroll salad and buffalo eggrolls on the side--which I ate. So good. Couldn't help myself. Not exactly fine dining, but if you're looking for cheap eats in Lowell, this is your place. The only problem I can foresee is seating--not great for a big group. Their bubble teas and bento boxes are really good! I haven't had too many of their egg rolls but the ones I've eaten so far are interesting. I love the way they cook their meats for the bento boxes too (beware, the spicy ones can be pretty hot). I just wish they gave a bit more rice. The egg rolls are much larger than your traditional egg rolls you may be accustomed to from local sandwich shops so don't be too daunted by the price for just a few egg rolls. I've never had the soups or salads but have only heard good things about them. The location is right by one of the campuses for UML and there's parking in a lot just down the street (meter parking). Their staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere is comfortable. They sometimes host open mics certain nights and they also display local artwork. There are also board games and free WiFi! Definitely a great place to stop by if you want bubble tea, some Americanized egg roll choices, or some nice bites of meat but if you're tight on money and want more bang for your buck, you might want to consider looking elsewhere or making the food yourself. Despite that though, you'll almost always find a college student eager to get something from there or just there to relax in between classes. And just for clarification, depending on what you've encountered before, their eggrolls can be considered egg rolls or spring rolls (they're basically the same thing... name preference?). If you're thinking of the unfried rolls packed with veggies and wrapped in white rice paper, that's the Vietnamese summer roll! read more

I went here with my fam and it was a blast! We loved trying a variety of egg rolls while playing board games, sipping boba tea etc. It is a casual joint that is easy to hang out and relax in. I had the worst experience at this place. They would not accommodate me for having a food preference. After serving me the WRONG food I told them I could not eat it because It contained something I do not eat and the owner said he could not accommodate me for that and said I should have asked before I ordered the dish like I am supposed to know how they make their food. This place is rad! They have egg rolls beyond egg rolls, with everything from cheeseburger to taco to crab rangoon. Everything I've ever tried there is awesome. They also have super-sweet bubble tea in a number of flavors which I always look forward to. Parking is a breeze since there is plenty of street parking out front and a good sized free lot just around the corner. A platter of 16 rolls is $19-20 dollars depending on what you get, and you can choose 4 flavors. On top of serving awesome food and drinks, the staff is totally laid back, friendly and quick to get your order ready and right. If you happen to be in Lowell, definitely pay this place a visit. I'm a UMASS student who lives right by this restaurant and after 4 years, it still is my favorite place to go when sick of campus dining. The bubble teas served here are my favorite in the Boston area, particularly the honeydew and taro slush flavors. The food is good too with my favorites being the chicken fried rice, samosa eggrolls, and teppei teriyaki. The pricing is decent and atmosphere is pretty relaxing. The customer service is phenomenal with the staff always being friendly. Some of the staff will even remember your name and your usual order. I definitely recommend this place, particularly if you are a student on North Campus. read more

Even though it is over price and parking is a hit miss I enjoyed there bubble tea . They just lost a customer. Tried this place last week for the first time and I have to say I was impressed. The person who was working was probably the most friendly I have ever encountered in a restaurant. He was very informative about everything on the menu. He asked if it was our first time there and when he heard that he gave us a ton of suggestions and basically described everything for us. We tried the southwest egg rolls which I thought were amazing and I could probably eat about a dozen of them. I also tried one of their boxes (I forget what they're called) but it had glazed chicken and sticky rice. Overall everything was very filling for me. Everything was very fresh as well. I did not try the bubble tea but I did try an iced cappuccino which was pretty good. Oh and the coolest thing was the lids to the cups, they have a machine that shrink wraps them on...so cool. Not a lot of seating in the restaurant, probably better for take out. I assume that a lot of college kids are using places like that as a cafe, and there was a few students in there with laptops, doing homework, and they took up most of the tables. This is my absolute favorite place in all of Lowell. They attract a very intelligent crowd from UMass Lowell so there's always good conversation going on. They host different art on their walls just about every month, and have live performances most weeks, including an open mic night. Still, the best thing about the place is the food.
