I ordered my food through Grubhub. I have experienced better breakfast from downtown Chicago with less issues. I ordered the avocado omelet, hash browns, one pancake, and fruit bowl. When I realized they did not include the pancake and fruit bowl I called the restaurant back. The manager and host over the phone was extremely rude for their order mess-up. The avocado omelet had mashed avocado not diced, which I thought was interesting, but did not taste bad. I probably will not go back due to the customer service. read more

THIS IS DINER FOOD... Wow, I'm truly amazed at the high rating. We came here right after their opening day, and though our server was nice, the food was really poor quality. I got coffee, which was fine, and my BF got hot chocolate. He liked it but it was definitely the powdered kind. For our entrees, I ordered the eggs benedict. The server recommended we get the hollandaise sauce on the side because it was really lemony. My BF got the Nutella crepes. My eggs benny was just not that great. The hollandaise was straight up nasty. So really, I had poached eggs on toast, but the weren't poached well. The Nutella crepe was huge, with tons of Nutella, bananas, and strawberries. The bananas and strawberries did not look fresh. They were extremely mushy. (Go to Eately for yummy crepes!!) Overall, it's just crappy diner food. I had the butchers skillet w pancakes and boy did it not disappoint! I've been here before and the food is good. I went back today and thought I'd grab breakfast before a meeting. The restaurant was empty. After standing at the front for a minute the host asked could she help me, I asked for a table for one and she handed me a menu and told me to seat myself. I was annoyed only because what else does she have to do where she can't walk me to a table? Five minutes later a couple walked in and I watched her greet them, grab two menus and walk them to a table to seat them. Completely different service less than 10min later! Now there are three of us in the restaurant. I read the menu while I was waiting on someone to greet/seat me so when I seated myself I knew what I wanted to order and was ready to order immediately. I was sitting waiting on someone to take my order. When the couple was seated, I watched as they were immediately greeted by another staff, were asked if they had questions about the menu, etc. again, completely different service. At this point I was asked if I was ready to order by someone else. As I was ordering I thought, why am I still here? So I said never mind and left. There are too many places to get breakfast in Streeterville for people to settle for this overpriced diner food with mediocre inconsistent service. Do better. read more

We first visited this restaurant last year and had a wonderful experience. We were back in town and re-visited and we won't be returning. Issue 1: we arrived 30 min prior to closing. The host looked as his watch as we approached the counter and told us that the kitchen closed in 15min. Rude. Issue 2: My husband and I ordered coffee. My cup was filled 1/3 and was told he'd return with more coffee. Well he never returned. He started cleaning tables and I asked whether he was able to get the coffee. His response, "no, that was the last of it". Ok. Well it would have been nice to be told that or even offered another option, right? Issue 3:The staff turned off all of the TVs in the restaurant other than the one near the counter near to where staff were putting things away, farthest from us. The World Cup was on. We came to eat, but that was so rude. Issue 4: my husband pointed out that there was a Carafe with a spout of coffee near the welcoming booth set-up and told me that I should check that for coffee. i did and was able to get more coffee. As I sat back down a staff member saw that I found coffee and stopped wrapping silverware from across the room and went to the carafe and took it away. Rude. It was nasty anyway, but that's not the point. Food was good. Issue 5: When taking the plates away, the host dropped the knife from the plate, covered in pancake syrup on my husband's shorts. Host 101 Issue 6: I was given the bill to sign. I noticed that the drinks were not on the itemized bill, but figured they were being comped because after all, my coffee mug was poured 1/3 full. The host comes back after swiping my card and says, "I forgot to put the drinks on there, so I added them". Handed me the card and the higher receipt (no new itemized version... so I have no idea how much each drink costs) and gave me a pen. I told him I shouldn't have to pay for my 1/3 cup of coffee. He went to the manager who was cashing out the register. He hands the host $2 and tells him to give it to me for the coffee. Needless to say. I was done! Literally and figuratively. My tip on my signed receipt was, "Thanks for making our 2nd visit our last" They were rude. Rude rude. Communication sucks. Staff is indifferent. Change your hours if you don't plan to give customers 100% during their entire time in your establishment. read more

I tried this place yesterday. I got there at around 12:30 and ordered their "Fussy Cust" omelet which allows you to choose your own ingredients. I chose mozzarella cheese and bacon. The good -- The portions were big and the pancakes that came with it were tasty (the pancakes saved this review from being a one-star). The bad -- The bacon in the omelet wasn't done enough. After awhile I ended up just picking out the bacon to lessen the chance of getting sick from eating undercooked bacon. I might have tried to order a new one if I had more time before my appointment in the building, but such wasn't the case. In addition, the hash browns which I had ordered "well-done" were only crispy on the very top. They were kind of slimy underneath. The establishment wasn't all that busy, but apparently I got stuck with the server who seemed to also be in charge of taking phone orders and looked like he was on the phone much of the rest of the time. He never stopped by to ask how I was doing and it took forever before I could get his attention to ask for a soft drink refill (at which time he sent one of the other servers to get it). When it was time to get the check I mentioned that the bacon in my omelet was undercooked and pointed to my uneaten meat pile to show him. He said "I'm sorry. I'll let the manager know." Whether or not he ever did remains a mystery because the manager never materialized. It's not like I was expecting a free meal, but he or she could have at least made an appearance to apologize for the poor result. The weird -- Their silverware is really big and heavy, especially the really thick fork handles. You might find it awkward unless you're someone with large hands and/or long fingers. To sum up, I don't think I'll ever be coming back to this place, especially when there are great breakfast restaurants (like Wildberry). read more

Anyone giving this place less than 5 stars is a brat. There is nothing ostentatious about this breakfast place. It's simple and CHEAP and hits the spot. They're not trying to reinvent the wheel here, and you can always find comfort classics on the menu. The biscuits and gravy (my FAVORITE breakfast food) is exactly what it says it is. I'm not one to bash a place but this was a terrible experience. Over 20 minutes for someone to come to our table. We ordered, then waited another 15 just for a cup of coffee. We actually had to stop another waiter to get the coffee. After an hour the food finally arrives and the order is wrong. When we sent the food back the waiter didn't say anything, complete attitude. The entire staff looks miserable. To top it off, the food sucked. Dried out pancakes, and country fried chicken that wasn't completely cooked. It goes without saying, we won't be back. read more

Eh, it was overall just an OK experience. We stopped in for a meal after an appointment and arrived 45 minutes before closing and there were only 3 people in the entire restaurant. They greeted us and told us we could sit anywhere we'd like to. Ordered some gluten free items which were good but the entire time we were there we felt rushed like they wanted to leave. Lots of hovering and asking if we were done to take our plates and we clearly were not. We kept checking our watch and had time. I hate feeling rushed when u pay $50 for breakfast food! The waitress was very sweet she recommend me really nice combo in which I could have a little bit of everything . So my combo had omelette , pancakes and hash potatoes. The good thing about the omelette was that it was very cheesy and spicy and full of flavors an the helping was very big too . My waitress was very helpful as I was all over the place with the menu and didn't know what to choose as everything looked so good in the menu . So Nancy was my waitress who eliminated my options . She recommend me to get bandito omelette which was delicious . At first she bought me a plain scrambled egg which I was not happy with so then she changed it to bandito omelette which was simply delicious. This location is inside a building and can be tricky to find. I order online and pick it up and by the time I make it back to work, it is still piping hot. I have ordered The Classic Omelet which is sooooo good with cheddar cheese and ham. The hashbrowns are soft and delicious. I can never seem to finish the entire thing and always save the rest for lunch. You can pick bread, fruit or pancakes. The pancakes are fluffy and thick, just how I like them. I can only handle one of them though. Their online menu is simple to use and order. The staff is very friendly and will have you out the door in no time. read more

This has been my favorite breakfast/brunch place in Chicago for a few years. It was a mandatory spot every time I came in town. However, I took my parents there for brunch and it the experience couldn't have been worst. We showed up 30 minutes before they closed and from the moment we sat down the staff was hurrying us out. One of them asked for the payment before our food even had arrived and later another one stood there watching us eat and removing every plate as we finished it. I've come here to eat a couple times doing a take out order since I care for a patient in the building and he's ordered from this place countless times and a couple times ordered me breakfast from here. My only issue is that they don't substitute certain items that you don't want (I,E, an extra side of grits) that comes with what you ordered, I like their omelets and grits not so much the pancakes because they are often times overcooked. I also love their chicken and rice soup not overdone with the seasoning but made just right. It is kind of pricey just to let you know, but overall the food is really delicious and when you do a call in order they are pretty fast with it. I don't know too many places that have fast service and staff that is pretty friendly. read more

First of all I want to say the food at Eggs Inc is absolutely phenomenal ,but I will not return to this location until their service is better for these reasons 1.We had three servers and our order came and it was missing items. The whole plate was taken back and brought out wrong twice. 2 Our order was mixed up with the people behind us and they tried to switch out the food after the people behind us had touch the food and of course we unwrapped our wrapped pita thinking it was part of our food and it wasn't. She tried to give it to the lady behinds us and of course she complained that she didn't want touched food. 3.SHe then brought napkins that had ketchup on them 4The server got the check wrong and mixed up the bill.
