Casual, quick, something for everyone breakfast. We came in around 11 on a weekday and there were diners looking for both breakfast and lunch. Appears to be a good place for all ages as there were quite a few kids there, along with all the adults. We were seated right away and started to look at the expansive menu. It may take you a while to figure out what you want, and the servings should satisfy almost every appetite. My wife got the asparagus and Swiss omelet with fruit. The asparagus was fresh and flavorful and the fruit was good - especially for December in the Midwest. I got the Under the Tuscan sun frittata. It's a skillet of hash browns topped with eggs, chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, basil, pepper jack cheese, and deliciousness. It was wonderful, and far more than I could eat in one sitting. I took the rest home and was barely able to eat that half in one sitting. It was very fresh, hot, and delicious. The food came out very quickly and the waitress was attentive and pleasant. The location isn't hard to find on foot, but might be tougher driving, as the entrance is not on Lake Shore, but on Erie. read more

If you're in the Streeterville area during the weekend and want a relatively inexpensive (for downtown Chicago) option for brunch that doesn't include a ridiculously long wait (i.e. Wildberry), this place is great. It's in an office building, and the nondescript decor of the place matches. It had a sterile feel, but the service was warm and fast. The menu is long, so there's something for everyone. I'm a huge sucker for anything chicken fried, so I was very content with the country fried chicken and eggs. The batter was light and very crispy, which is a bit different than traditional country fried batter. Nevertheless, it was still tasty. My boyfriend got the Nutella crepes, which was just chock full of strawberries, bananas, walnut, and that addicting hazelnut spread. This would have been very good for dessert to share; it was a too decadent for breakfast. The portions here are huge, and we barely made it halfway through our dishes. My 12th time having breakfast at Eggs Inc, (see the Menu photo that I have shared). Another Five Star experience - I cannot get enough of this place. Great Selection! Great Service! Great Food! Great Location! Great Prices! Thus far, I have Delightfully consumed the Chicken Skillet, Country Benedict, Steak Philly Omelette, Corned Beef Hash & Eggs, and the Healthy Start -(a grilled chicken breast for breakfast is surprisingly excellent when it is complemented by egg whites, Mozzarella cheese, and buck wheat pancakes). AND Their new cold press smoothies are a must try! There are no less than four, 4.5 star breakfast restaurants within a two block walk from my condo. I came in on a Sunday morning around 11. *** most places on a Sunday morning at 11 will require a wait but this place didn't! ** I walked in and sat down immediately. The food here is amazing!!! Absolutely love it! I got a mambo Italiano with sun dried tomatoes instead of regular ones and I upgraded to the chunky monkey pancake ( it has chocolate batter ) it's so yummy! My waiter had forgotten to ask a couple questions when we ordered and came back a couple of times just to double check that he wrote things right. Sooooo, I'm very happy to say that Eggs Inc Cafe in the heart of Streeterville, located at 680 N. Lakeshore Drive. My excitement has been building for months as I live across the street & been anticipating their grand opening! Today I ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches, with Bacon & scrambled eggs on sour-dough bread....and OMG they were crazy delicious! Most definitely the best breakfast sammich I've had in years, even better than my homemade versions! :) Their delicious breakfast sandwiches came with an option for hashbrowns or a fruit cup. one of the best brunch places I've been to in the neighborhood! They have a wide selection of eggs, pancakes, skillets, french toast etc. I ordered eggs my way, it came with either harsh browns (which I chose, not the best harsh brown I've had though), or fruits. It also came with pancakes (which you have to choose over toast or english muffin). The pancakes are so fluffy and buttery!!! The dining environment is bright and cozy. Servers are friendly. But the waiting time for the food to come was a little bit long than other places I feel. But I will definitely come back again, because they have reasonable price for their brunch items. read more

Amazing food, great service and atmosphere. I had an early appointment and was hungry for breakfast, and happen to walk in. I'm so glad I did. I was first pleased with the service. Super attentive and just really nice. Loved my waitress Bianca. She was super genuine, helpful and very on top of everything! I got a nice corner booth even though I was here alone. I tried the pancho villa omelette (chorizo, jalapeño, and avocado...medium level of spice) with a side of fruit (you can choose fruit or hash browns) and a side of pancakes (choice of toast, English muffin, pancakes). I upgraded to specialty pancakes for $3 and tried the banana crunch (topped with granola, banana, and blueberries). Delicious! Also, huge portions. Prices were very reasonable. I am really fond of customer service, and the treatment I received at this location from the manager was appalling. For starters, I ordered a vegetarian quesadilla and the tortilla was completely wet on the backside. I went to return it and the restaurant was closed, no biggie. On Friday morning, I call to inform the manager of my experience with the quesadilla. I spoke with a female staff who directed me to call back in 15min. When I called back, I spoke with David who was very pleasant. He apologized for my experience, confirmed the ability to remake the order or receive another item of equal value. When I went to pick up my order, I was given a bill. I informed the cashier I spoke with the manager and it was covered. She then went to get the manager, who was not David. He was very condescending and told me that the vegetables make the quesadilla wet and if it sat for 1 hr, its expected to be wet. I informed him it didn't sit for longer than 15 minutes. He then proceeded to ask if I understood what he said and in the future I can't receive replacements for an order. The nerve of this manager to question my comprehension of a quesadilla. I will never return to this establishment. I appreciate David for his professional and ability to compensate for my order. However, I won't accept spending my money at a restaurant that has someone in management with horrible customer service. He did not apologize for my previous experience and acted as if my replacement order was annoying him. read more

Our food: pancho villa omelette (Chorizo Sausage, Jalapeño, Onion, Avocado and Pepper Jack Cheese) with regular pancakes, margarita senorita skillet (Scrambled Eggs with Avocado, Jalapeño Pepper, Bacon, Onions, Pepper Jack Cheese) with regular pancakes; and under the tuscan sun skillet (Scrambled Eggs with Chicken Breast, Sun-dried Tomatoes, Fresh Basil, Topped with Provolone Cheese) with red velvet pancakes. Like I said, it all tasted great and the portions were healthy. The pancakes in particular, as others have noted, are wonderful. Our server was really bad though. The place had only a few other patrons but our server mostly stayed in the back doing...who really knows what he was doing, aside from not attending to us. It took a while to put in our order and once he dropped the food off, that was it. No asking if our order was right, no dropping off napkins or anything, he just took off. Gyro meat!) and bananas foster French toast and sampled my wife's stuff (margarita señorita frittata sans bacon, which was ok, and red velvet French toast) The Athenian was the best of the lot IMHO. I found the red velvet a bit too heavy, but - fair play - they've given the French toast treatment to slices of red velvet cake. Lastly, I thought there should've been more bananas in the bananas foster French toast. You know, lean into that mutha. Cannot say enough great things about this restaurant. My wife and I live nearby and we eat here 1-2 times per month. I would give it 6 stars if that were possible. It has excellent food, a wonderful menu variety, a great atmosphere, excellent service and staff, and plenty of space so usually there is no wait. Very clean. We have a 10 month old and have found it easy to get a stroller into the place, no shortage of high chairs, and good baby changing facilities in restrooms. Excellent service, but I'm not a fan of the Hollywood omelet. It was green! Yes, it was. It had avocado and other leafy greens, so it created that color. Sounds healthy, but I didn't like the texture. I should have ordered a regular omelet just to be on the safe side, but I was feeling a little adventurous that day. This review is only for delivery. I got the Mediterranean omelet and it was so good! Tons of flavor and lots of ingredients to make the omelet worth the buck. I also got sausage links and they were very thick and perfectly cooked. The only thing that wasn't he greatest was the delivery itself as the driver must of not known that i had a omelet and was not graceful with the carriage of the food. When I opened up the bag there was fluid that spilled all over my floor and myself. So, maybe make sure you communicate to your delivery people so that doesn't happen to other people. Went for lunch and ordered the grilled cheese. I didn't realize the grilled cheese had bacon in it, so, being a vegetarian, I asked them if they could make another sandwich without bacon. They kindly said sure, not a problem. Five minutes later I get another sandwich, but it smells like bacon also. I look inside and didnt see bacon, so I started eating it, thinking it was my brain playing tricks on me. But after continuing to eat it, I realized this definitely smelled like bacon, and even asked the customers at thr table next to me, and they said it smelled like bacon. Then I realized that this was the same exact sandwich, they just took the bacon out. You can even see bits of the charred bacon on the cheese where it lay originally. The customers next to me, who eat meat and know the smell of bacon, told me that they were 100% sure the kitchen didn't make a new sandwich and just removed the bacon strips. On top of that, the waitress serving me was very short with me. To begin with, she didn't approach my table until I was sitting for 10 minutes and even served another table who arrived after me. I had initially given this place a 5/5 on my first visit, but after giving me a grilled cheese with bacon remnants and bacon juice grilled into the cheese, i have to change it to a 1/5 now. Ours was very friendly, but then spent her time elsewhere, not among the tables, chatting with coworkers and not bringing our food until it was only lukewarm. With only three of her tables occupied, I would have expected to not have to look for her and waive her down when we needed something. Forgetting that inexperience, this is a great place. Since it's a bit away from the hotel and tourist crowds it much easier to get a table in the morning, a big plus in Streeterville. read more

I've been here before and the food is good. I went back today and thought I'd grab breakfast before a meeting. The restaurant was empty. After standing at the front for a minute the host asked could she help me, I asked for a table for one and she handed me a menu and told me to seat myself. I was annoyed only because what else does she have to do where she can't walk me to a table? Five minutes later a couple walked in and I watched her greet them, grab two menus and walk them to a table to seat them. Completely different service less than 10min later! Now there are three of us in the restaurant. I read the menu while I was waiting on someone to greet/seat me so when I seated myself I knew what I wanted to order and was ready to order immediately. I was sitting waiting on someone to take my order. When the couple was seated, I watched as they were immediately greeted by another staff, were asked if they had questions about the menu, etc. again, completely different service. At this point I was asked if I was ready to order by someone else. As I was ordering I thought, why am I still here? So I said never mind and left. There are too many places to get breakfast in Streeterville for people to settle for this overpriced diner food with mediocre inconsistent service. Do better. read more
