Came here Saturday morning with my family for an early breakfast/brunch. The inside is more modern-looking than I expected and I was pleasantly surprised. Lots of options on the menu. Not sophisticated like some of the Montreal brunch spots but good variety and very competitive prices. Our waitress was super nicer and helpful. I ordered a dish with two eggs, French toast with fruit and bacon. It came with breakfast potatoes and bread. The food came out pretty quickly and was just ok for the most part. The bread they used for the French toast was weird (like the type you'd use for a smoked meat sandwich). The bacon had an odd taste. Good quality fruit and the potatoes were fine. Overall very standard. I wouldn't be rushing back but would come back for a quick standard breakfast. The great service and the good prices are definitely the biggest pros of this place. read more

We started off trying to go to Cora's around the corner it has since closed; so we figured why not give this place a shot. The only good thing was how friendly the staff was. Every single employee was pleasant and smiley. That's where it ended. We both ordered Benedict's, my boyfriends was fine mine was a little off mine the spinach tasted a little funny. I asked for my sausages to be butterflied (sliced in half) and my boyfriend wanted his whole (how they normally serve it). They both came sliced in half and burnt. We sent them back and they came back both sliced in half again and not fully cooked. I could also hear the cook get annoyed when she asked to change the sausages and he even came out begrudgingly to see what table it was. The place wasn't clean at all. The bathrooms were filthy and there was dark brown hair in the sugar packs holder. Gross! *see picture Our waitress was really nice and friendly, but not really attentive to wether or not we like the food. When she asked if everything was ok I responded with "meh" and before I could continue she'd happily moved onto another table.. a little oblivious. When she'd taken my plate she didn't even acknowledge why I ate only two bites of my Benedict's and didn't touch anything else. Possibly she was inexperience but beside that she did an excellent job, water, hot sauce and coffee refilled promptly and always with a smile. We paid, tipped, left and won't be returning. read more

Waited 30minutes for a waitress before I told the hostess we had been forgotten while people who arrived after us received and finished their meal. Only to finally receive my eggs benedict lukewarm, no offer to refill coffee or water. I had to get up and get my own ketchup and extra napkins from another table because the waitress couldn't be bothered to check on us until they were closing and she wanted us to pay the bill. My only regret is that my poor sweet mom went against my advice and tipped what she thought was the minimum option (%18 because of their default amounts). Gave two stars because I love their potatoes - that's the only good thing I can say. Wait staff need urgent retraining. read more

The food here is very good and the prices are very cheap compared to other breakfast spots. I love coming here early morning! My only complaint would be the slow service but the waitresses are always very nice. The interior is normal, nothing special. It's great for a good low priced breakfast! read more

The lox platter. It is definitely something out of this world! Demolished it, but it was quite a struggle. It's absolutely beautiful and definitely not what I pictured when ordering it. The fruit was super delicious as well as the lox. *coming from California, they didn't have jalapeños, avocado or hot sauce. This place was definitely busy even on a cold rainy day! Best home fries! We love this place, especially Saturday's when kids eat free. The pancakes are thin and light, and I've never been disappointed with my breakfast. A few small negatives: in Montreal you better be serving Montreal bagels and not Tim Hortons style rolls with holes. I wish they had turkey bacon as an option for meat. Been coming here since they opened, always have eggs and bacon for breakfast or if it's lunchtime I get a BLT. They also have various pasta plates at lunch. The food and the service is always great, with only exception being when there are multiple large groups of who decide to ask for something as the waitress is walking away. read more

A solid experience, especially if you have children. For every adult, one child eats free, and the childrens breakfasts were impressive. My friend's kid had nutella waffles with a side of fruit and it was a generous portion. Our waitress was fast friendly and very nice to us and the kids. My food was decent and very inexpensive,eggs, bacon, ham, sausages, potatoes fruit and coffee was $11.25! I gave a huge tip to get rid of my Canadian coins ;) Recommended for people with children. read more

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Although the staff were friendly, I'm not sure how good they are at their jobs. Waitress forgot the water, didn't check in to see if we were enjoying our meals even once. Had she done so herself, I wouldn't have been forced to call over the maître d to point out the issues with my meal. Although I tried to keep eating the eggs Benedict despite the fact that the yolk was cooked through, the 2 medium length hairs I found under the potatoes blew my appetite. Hair on my food I can understand that even passers-by can be the cause. Unfortunately it was evident that this hair entered within the cooking process. 15-20 minutes later I still hadn't received my replacement dish, but the waitress had brought me my check because no one had informed her of my re-fire (industry term for recoiling a dish). Amazing breakfasts, great menu, fair prices and nice decor. I always ask for items not on the menu and 99% of the time its not a problem. Even when busy my coffee keeps getting refilled. Service is prompt and polite. I don't like that I always have to ask for water, it should be brought right away, but when I ask, they gladly bring it. The wait staff is always pleasant. The food is served mostly quickly and even the post Covid prices are attainable, though I do miss the "before 9 am" specials. Imagine, a short year and a half ago- Multigrain toast, blueberry jam, tea with honey and fresh lemon, two eggs any style, 3 strips of bacon, cooked your way, heaping tender lightly fried potatoes and at least 4 kinds of fruit- on a good sized plate and decently ergonomic SS flatware... for $4.25 in 2020! (and portions were such that none of our group ever went hungry) The owner, is super affable, hard working, and there monitoring or DOING everyone else's job to pitch in- when necessary. This makes me think- sometimes, Immigrants are the best restaurant owners and beat out natives much of the time ;-) I hope to be going back there, at LEAST weekly, for 30+ years (then I'll be over a 100 ;-) PS. I met lots of other folks there, interesting- such as the former owner when it was the South Seas Chinese resto, back in the day, (last century- decades ago) before the area upgraded a lot. read more

My family & I were on the look out for a restaurant we ate at years ago, however, we could not find it. Being starving, we stopped here instead. At first the experience wasn't that great, they seemed understaff for such a busy time and thus we sat for 10 minutes before a waitress came to even give us our menus. After this, things moved along much better, the food came fast and it was magnificent. The only thing was that the server forgot to give us our drinks and so we had to ask half way through the meal. The waitress was extremely nice though, and I'm sure the service would've been better if they had more servers. I recommend the Eggs, pancake filled with strawberry, that comes with potates, toast and a choice of sausage, ham or bacon. I devour the ketchup, so I'm glad they had a bottle readily available. read more

It was unsanitary how the servers would stack meals ontop of other plates with meals on them, and then serve them. There would be four meals stacked ontop of eachother and then served. I thought it was just one server when I first saw it happening, and then I realised it was multiple servers doing this. read more

I love this place and crave it all the time. I can't wait to go back to Montreal to enjoy it once again. It's one of the nicer breakfast/brunch places in Montreal; bright, open and clean. The menu is exhaustive - eggs, pancakes, crepes, etc. There's nothing missing. I particularly like the lox platter - every in-season fruit is specially cut and adorns the periphery of the plate, where a bed of lettuce is topped with a pile of lox. Bagel of your choice is served alongside with some cream cheese. Perfection. The prices are good, the portions are what you'd expect...however, the service here is consistently lacking. Don't expect water refills, only coffee. Don't expect to get your bill too quickly either. Food comes out quick but flagging down your server is quite the challenge. I never come when I'm in a rush though and manage to stay perfectly content. read more

I bring my Mom here for breakfast/lunch and I must say it's a big step up over Cora across the street and other breakfast chains. They are very busy at lunch, full of seniors because prices are excellent and portions substantial. Yes, sometimes the service is spotty, when the place is full, but I've had excellent service as well. Meals come out quickly and so it's a good spot for lunch on the run. Been here about ten times and recommend the lunch specials where for the price of a McDonald meal, you can get a full meal. Trying something new, I took Mom to the Decarie "Eggspectation" which was noisy, expensive and extremely slow to be served. I'll return here to Eggs Frutti. PS.... The dining room is light and airy, with a high ceiling, making for a nice atmosphere. It's your standard breakfast fare in a nice place, with reasonable prices and service. read more

Generous portions of quality breakfast and lunch foods. I had a rib steak with fresh sauteed veggies and really good mashed potatoes. It came with an excellent vegetable potage... and a really high quality carrot cake... and refillable coffee. All for under $12! We will be coming back to this restaurant in the future! This place is "The Place" to go with family or friends, to have breakfast early in the morning or brunch in the early afternoon. The portions are amazing, all fresh, excellent coffee and incredible service! super fast and very nice staff! Potatoes are amazing too! We go there for about two years now and they really keep the excellent service, I highly recommend this place for a good and affordable breakfast/brunch. Had breakfast with friends yesterday, Aug 24. Breakfast was about $30. Nothing fancy except the presentation. Tip is always optional in Quebec. However, the waitress keeps on coming back and she keep on reminding us to leave her a tip. My friend does not need to be reminded. read more

I went to this place for the first time this weekend. The decor is very nice, the menu is very interesting,but the service is HORRIBLE. I had eaten half of my breakfast, when I found this disgusting hair on my plate. I told the waitress about it, she took the plate and said "ill let them know" didn't even apologize or anything. Even WORSE she then brings us the bill (she charged me for my half eaten plate with hair) and when I confronted her about it she just said that she had told them about the hair and they said they were very sorry and just completely ignored me and the whole situation. That was my first time there, and let me assure you it will be the last. So if you're thinking about going there, think again, because the customers there are not that important, and the quality and service is awful... NOT happy!
