The classic, classic mimosas, and caramel apple pancakes
    Kylie P.

We decided to come back since we were unsure of any other breakfast joints in the area. I have to admit, I was wary to give it a second chance. Well, I'm glad I did! This place apparently went under some renovations last summer and the place looks brand new! The interior is very nice, very modern, and a huge improvement. Their food was delicious, and the service quick. We got mimosas ($20), I got the caramel apple pancakes ($10.99), and my mom got "the classic" breakfast ($8.99). We were both pleased with our meals and completely cleaned our plates. The only criticism that my mom had was that the eggs were a little dry. Otherwise, service and breakfast was perfect. I can easily see this becoming a regular breakfast spot for me and my family.

This is my first time trying eggs up and honestly I've been wanting to try them for awhile. Based off the menu, they seem like a pretty straightforward breakfast spot. The restaurant gives old school diner vibes which I thought was cute and I liked it. I ordered the shrimp and grits omelet and there was shrimp,, andouille sausage, Swiss cheese and it did come with onions and green peppers but I opted those out. The grits had cheese on it and it was slightly runnier than I like but it was still good. I put it a little bit of salt and pepper on it and it did its job. When my omelet first came out, it had onions and peppers on it even though the waitress told the kitchen no onions and peppers lol so she took it back and they made me a new one fairly quickly. I put a little hot sauce on it and it was so delicious. They give you a decent amount of shrimp and sausage so definitely didn't skimp out on the filling and it parties well with the grits. I think for a quick brunch it was really good. I'd give it a 8/10. Our waitress was also super sweet and helpful during our service.

Fluffy, flavorful pancakes are a must for a good brunch and Eggs Up delivered perfection!

This is our first time at this location and we were not disappointed. Great service, great food and no wait!!! Perfect! Laura was awesome!

    Crab cake Benedict

Don't be deceived by the outside appearance. It's gives your typical local dinner look but I did enjoy my food a lot even though it didn't look like much and I wasn't sure I'd be full. I modified my dish a lot because I am always that person and accommodating me was a seamless process! My order was taken right the first time with no hassle. I got the crab cake Benedict but I didn't want the eggs so I really just had crab cakes and toast. Lol The crab cakes had a good little flavor to them and the garlic bread was just loaded with flavor! Our server was nice and attentive as well! The coffee is strong so if you're not a true coffee drinker I've warned you BUT they have plenty creamer and sugar along with a slew of other coffee options like iced coffee and what not. Also they offer Turkey bacon! A Turkey burger would be a nice edition, fruit French toast, more chocolate pancake options or some slight menu expansions and this would be a five star local dinner for sure!

Still a five. Dining room was open, and people dining outside also Saturday morning 6/13/20 around 10:30. No wait to be seated. Breakfast was very good. The coffee was burnt. Asked Sam to make a fresh pot, but she didnt, she got it out of the big carafe machine, and second cup she brought also had the same burnt taste to it, that no amount of cream and sugar would have taken away. They took it away and gladly removed it from the bill. Hope they get the coffee fixed as $2.49 for a burnt cup of coffee is way too much. Still a 5 star for the food and service.

    Triple duece or something
    Shaquita Y.

I was expecting more in terms of flavor. I ordered the triple deuce or something, It's on the menu under favorites. I opted to try one sweet potato praline and one buttermilk pan lake, bacon, and eggs with cheese. Everything was mediocre and the sweet potato didn't even taste like sweet potato nor could you even taste the pralines. It honestly tasted like a bad batch of pancake mix with nuts. They replaced It with a buttermilk pancake but even then I still didn't enjoy the meal for $10+. The bacon was average and the eggs were nothing to brag about.

    Bananas Fosters Pancakes

I came here with my kids for breakfast and this is honestly one of the worst breakfast places I've ever been to. I've never been to an Eggs Up Grille before but I can say I'm not going to be coming back. The only good thing was that the service was good and food came out fast. I ordered a hash benedict and bananas fosters pancake. The hollandaise sauce on the benedict was broken and tasteless, it lacked flavor and the texture left a rough feel on my tongue. The beef hash was mushy and red, it left much to be desired. There was no crispiness on the hash or the english muffin at all. The potatoes weren't bad but there were some questionable burnt pieces mixed in. The caramel on the bananas fosters pancake was overly cooked to the point where it was crunchy and bitter. The bananas were unripe so they were kind of hard. Maybe it's because I've worked at a breakfast restaurant with good food before, so I was so grossed out by all this food. I couldn't finish a single thing on my plates. Save yourself the trouble and either order something else or don't come here at all.

Omg, you gotta try this coastal crab cake benedict, the grits are always good. I wanted to try something different an excellent choice

The coastal crab cake benedict is scrumptious, glad I ordered something new! Please try

    Love the shirts
    Rene D.

Found this place across from the Joint. Just came outta there and came here. Our server Anna is awesome and chatted us up a bit. I love their shirts with the sayings on them... defiantly CRACKED me up today. She is so cute (looking and personality )! I had Eggs Bene today and boy was that good. Haven't had that in awhile. Also one blueberry pancake. So yummy. Bf helped with that! He ordered a Greek omelete with ham, then potatoes with onions n green peppers etc. they were equally good. Service was great from Anna. She always came around with refills as well as small talk. Love the decor and the T-shirt's they wear... lol!

    Southwestern Brunch Bowl

Breakfast on a Sunday after a weekend bender has truly stood the testament of time. Recently, I was able to try out a new Eggs Up Grill location over towards Forest Acres. Upon entrance, one becomes entrances with the lighting and comfort colors spread throughout the restaurant. My party and I got seated very quickly and Darren was incredibly prompt with getting our orders in. To our pleasure, our orders came out almost lightning fast and we were able to dig right in. My Southwestern Bowl had a wonderful filling to it along with an almost scientific blend of ingredients, although, the jalapeños were quite big. One cannot go wrong with a bowl and if you opt for one, poached eggs made it delicious. I also had the opportunity to try the waffle sandwich and it was a combination that surprisingly worked really well.

Turkey avocado BLT with home fries
    Doug M.

Popped in for a sandwich and got a nice turkey avocado BLT with home fries. I didn't really know what to expect, since the place is really known for breakfast. However, the sandwich was really pretty good. It's more akin to a turkey & Swiss melt than a BLT. There's a lot of butter on the grilled bread. The avocado and BLT are more like additions for extra flavor. Regardless, though, it's a good sandwich. The home fries are large potato dice cooked up on a grill or frying pan with some spice - good, and pair well with the sandwich. Together it made for a filling yet not overly so lunch.

    Burrito and home style fries

So I order a sausage egg and cheese toaster and my wife order burrito with a side of fries with Diet Coke . So we didn't get a refill the waitress kept going to the bathroom the eggs were bland as well as the fries were greasy and were not fresh we went at 1245 pm I did speak to the manger which he apologized to my wife it showed he cared and wasn't just about the buck I will give them another shot but only because of the manager hospitality not the workers

    Lindsay M.

I really appreciate this place for a quick and cheap breakfast meal! I have a dairy allergy and they can make my stuff with no butter which I REALLY appreciate. I'm never disappointed and the service is always really good. I keep coming back and am never disappointed. Good coffee too!

    Perfectly seasoned red potatoes.

The food was pretty good overall, but my chicken salad sandwich was extremely disappointing. The croissant was very dry, and the shredded chicken combined with the consistency of the dressing was not at all what I expected. After only a couple bites, I left the entire sandwich untouched. What was even more disappointing was that when our waitress brought the bill, she clearly noticed I hadn't eaten the sandwich and chose not to ask about it. At this price point for lunch, I would have expected the situation to be handled a little differently. We sat in the covered outdoor area, which was nice, but there's also an uncovered outdoor section with older picnic tables that don't really match the vibe of a more upscale lunch spot. If you plan to sit outside, I'd recommend making your seating preference clear when booking.

They were all so sweet and really went above and beyond to make sure it was a high-quality experience. I noticed that they openly advertise that they don't accept tips and have slightly higher prices in order to pay their workers a living wage, and the results were directly reflected in the customer service that I received. As for the food and drink (coffee), that was pretty good as well! While I do wish that they might have had bagels, the croissant that I substituted it for was warm, buttery, and tasty, and it was a nice change from my usual coffee shop meal, as I've only had a croissant a handful of times. The coffee was fine, and I loved how they offered free refills, which I've noticed that other local coffee shops usually don't. Finally, I loved the setting of the restaurant, which gave you the opportunity to either sit inside and enjoy the ambiance or on the outside patio and enjoy some peace and quiet. I also loved the artwork that they had on the walls, which the waitress informed me was painted by a local artist and which you could purchase if you wanted to. All-in-all, I loved smallSUGAR, will be back in the future, and would highly recommend stopping in!

Service was fine. Nothing particularly standout, but smooth and efficient. For drinks, the coffee was average. It wasn't bad by any means, just nothing memorable. Especially considering the price point. Food-wise, there were some highlights. The sweet potato bowl was well-dressed and flavorful, though it felt like it was missing a protein component to make it more complete. The shakshuka was very good overall, with great flavor, though it leaned a bit salty. The biggest issue was the bread portion. It simply wasn't enough for the dish. I ended up ordering an extra side, and while it's listed as two slices, it's really just one slice cut in half. At $4 for that portion, that is very unreasonable. That was a recurring theme. Pricing felt high across the board for what you receive. While the flavors were there, nothing really stood out as exceptional enough to justify the cost. Overall, not a bad visit. Just one where the value didn't quite match the experience.

The place is very well air conditioned, and the space is very intentional. Visiting from out of state the waitress seemed a bit shy/new but curious about Wisconsin she warmed up a little bit. It's really cool that you can see the chefs in their element behind a glass wall while you wait. The silverware, or should I say Goldwear was beautiful. I started out with the All American Spritz- it was good but nothing extraordinary. However when I tried the pistachio martini, I was in disbelief! I was skeptical to order it as I've never even heard of one before and was unsure how pistachio would translate into a martini. It was creamy and somehow savory and sweet at the same time, the alcohol taste was nonexistent. And the rim was coated in pistachio crumbs. Both the drinks presentation was beautiful. I personally ordered the bbq chicken sandwhich, with mac and cheese instead of fries for the side. The sandwich was smoky, I could not stop eating it! If anyone was wondering what so special about the mac and cheese, it's the name of the noodles. And yes, the waitress will sound it out with you lol! The Mac and cheese wasn't creamy, and I found it a bit bland unfortunately. There was no order the same in the group I came with. The truffle fries were on the thinner crispier side, neat that there were different color of potatoes used. The duck wings came out like their very own presentation. I tried the alligator bites, that were served with 2 sauces, I thought there were kind of chewy , and weird enough I guess I have a preference with how my alligator is served since having tried some at the Wisco State fair. I love that the menu feels curated, you know what you're there for and it's not overwhelming to pick from the options of something new. The bathroom was very cute too! And the bar area was lit up, a cool atmosphere.

That created a slightly rushed feeling right from the start of the experience. When the food arrived, it was not served hot. The fries were seasoned but came out cold, so we had to send them back. The service also felt a bit disengaged, as though the server was ready to wrap things up, even though there was still about 30 to 45 minutes before closing time. That said, once the food was remade and served hot, it was really good. My salad, however, was not the same experience, as the lettuce had brown spots throughout, which took away from the overall quality. You can tell the kitchen has potential when the food is prepared properly, but consistency is the issue. The ambience is very cool and visually appealing. It is a bit dark for my personal preference in the evening, but I can imagine it being bright and beautiful during the daytime. The cocktail I ordered was just okay and didn't really stand out. Overall, there is definitely potential here, but improvements in consistency, service attentiveness, and food quality control would really elevate the experience.

We ended up stopping at The Grand around 9/9:30pm on a Saturday. Upon entering the hostess informed us they were currently only serving the late night menu. We said no problem and elected to grab seats at the bar. There were several empty tables and a few empty seats @ the bar. However, the only two seats together at the bar needed to be cleared from the last patrons that were seated. We stood there for over 20 mins while Jacob continued to walk by never acknowledging us or the fact that we couldn't sit. When he finally cleared the dishes he just walked away, never cleaning the area. When he returned he still never greeted us or apologized for the wait, the mess... nothing. Jacob: What are you having? Me: Well hello... Jacob: Yea... what do you want? Me: Wow... ok. For starters can you please whip off the bar so we can properly have a seat. There is still food residue here from the last customers. ** we get a visible huff** He wipes down the bar and we proceed to order drinks, while he never really speak any more it's all via motions and body language. Amongst ourselves we check in with one another to confirm that we both were feeling very unwelcome. Instantly we decide that we will not be ordering anything additional and will be leaving after this one drink. Which is just as well because Jacob never returns. Someone , whom I can only assume was of a mangement status, asked if Jacob was helpful and we promptly and simultaneously said no and that we would like or bill. She shook her head in utter disbelief and disgust but then she also disappeared. Just so happened that Diamond, whom was on the other side of the bar happen to walk pass. She stopped and asked if we were ok after witnessing our frustration. We explained that we wanted the check and why we were leaving. She was super apologetic and closed out our tab. Her energy literal turned the experience around and if she would have came to our rescue sooner we would have considered staying. Thank you Diamond. Just A Note: Unfortunately, bad first impression because The Grand seems like it may offer a good time with the bowling lanes in the back.
