    Waffle sandwich whole
    Sonya L.

Our first visit here for Sunday Brunch and I enjoyed myself. We were seated quickly and were given menus. It took a little longer to order food but it was worth the wait. Everything was delicious. Only complaint was the steak was not cooked to order. The waffle sandwich was the biggest hit for my preteen kid!

Manager of location. Ahhh, you know him? How good is that.

Visited SC recently. Ate here three days (as long as I was in city). Busy, happy, hungry folks, me included. Fluffy pancakes, eggs to order. Excellent service. Was at the location near the round-about on the corner. In a mall like area, down from popular nail shop - yeah, that location

The classic, classic mimosas, and caramel apple pancakes

We decided to come back since we were unsure of any other breakfast joints in the area. I have to admit, I was wary to give it a second chance. Well, I'm glad I did! This place apparently went under some renovations last summer and the place looks brand new! The interior is very nice, very modern, and a huge improvement. Their food was delicious, and the service quick. We got mimosas ($20), I got the caramel apple pancakes ($10.99), and my mom got "the classic" breakfast ($8.99). We were both pleased with our meals and completely cleaned our plates. The only criticism that my mom had was that the eggs were a little dry. Otherwise, service and breakfast was perfect. I can easily see this becoming a regular breakfast spot for me and my family.

This is my first time trying eggs up and honestly I've been wanting to try them for awhile. Based off the menu, they seem like a pretty straightforward breakfast spot. The restaurant gives old school diner vibes which I thought was cute and I liked it. I ordered the shrimp and grits omelet and there was shrimp,, andouille sausage, Swiss cheese and it did come with onions and green peppers but I opted those out. The grits had cheese on it and it was slightly runnier than I like but it was still good. I put it a little bit of salt and pepper on it and it did its job. When my omelet first came out, it had onions and peppers on it even though the waitress told the kitchen no onions and peppers lol so she took it back and they made me a new one fairly quickly. I put a little hot sauce on it and it was so delicious. They give you a decent amount of shrimp and sausage so definitely didn't skimp out on the filling and it parties well with the grits. I think for a quick brunch it was really good. I'd give it a 8/10. Our waitress was also super sweet and helpful during our service.

Fluffy, flavorful pancakes are a must for a good brunch and Eggs Up delivered perfection!

This is our first time at this location and we were not disappointed. Great service, great food and no wait!!! Perfect! Laura was awesome!

    Crab cake Benedict

Don't be deceived by the outside appearance. It's gives your typical local dinner look but I did enjoy my food a lot even though it didn't look like much and I wasn't sure I'd be full. I modified my dish a lot because I am always that person and accommodating me was a seamless process! My order was taken right the first time with no hassle. I got the crab cake Benedict but I didn't want the eggs so I really just had crab cakes and toast. Lol The crab cakes had a good little flavor to them and the garlic bread was just loaded with flavor! Our server was nice and attentive as well! The coffee is strong so if you're not a true coffee drinker I've warned you BUT they have plenty creamer and sugar along with a slew of other coffee options like iced coffee and what not. Also they offer Turkey bacon! A Turkey burger would be a nice edition, fruit French toast, more chocolate pancake options or some slight menu expansions and this would be a five star local dinner for sure!

Scrambled eggs, white toast, cheese grits.

Still a five. Dining room was open, and people dining outside also Saturday morning 6/13/20 around 10:30. No wait to be seated. Breakfast was very good. The coffee was burnt. Asked Sam to make a fresh pot, but she didnt, she got it out of the big carafe machine, and second cup she brought also had the same burnt taste to it, that no amount of cream and sugar would have taken away. They took it away and gladly removed it from the bill. Hope they get the coffee fixed as $2.49 for a burnt cup of coffee is way too much. Still a 5 star for the food and service.

    Southwestern Brunch Bowl

Breakfast on a Sunday after a weekend bender has truly stood the testament of time. Recently, I was able to try out a new Eggs Up Grill location over towards Forest Acres. Upon entrance, one becomes entrances with the lighting and comfort colors spread throughout the restaurant. My party and I got seated very quickly and Darren was incredibly prompt with getting our orders in. To our pleasure, our orders came out almost lightning fast and we were able to dig right in. My Southwestern Bowl had a wonderful filling to it along with an almost scientific blend of ingredients, although, the jalapeños were quite big. One cannot go wrong with a bowl and if you opt for one, poached eggs made it delicious. I also had the opportunity to try the waffle sandwich and it was a combination that surprisingly worked really well.

    Triple duece or something
    Shaquita Y.

I was expecting more in terms of flavor. I ordered the triple deuce or something, It's on the menu under favorites. I opted to try one sweet potato praline and one buttermilk pan lake, bacon, and eggs with cheese. Everything was mediocre and the sweet potato didn't even taste like sweet potato nor could you even taste the pralines. It honestly tasted like a bad batch of pancake mix with nuts. They replaced It with a buttermilk pancake but even then I still didn't enjoy the meal for $10+. The bacon was average and the eggs were nothing to brag about.

    Bananas Fosters Pancakes
    Cat T.

I came here with my kids for breakfast and this is honestly one of the worst breakfast places I've ever been to. I've never been to an Eggs Up Grille before but I can say I'm not going to be coming back. The only good thing was that the service was good and food came out fast. I ordered a hash benedict and bananas fosters pancake. The hollandaise sauce on the benedict was broken and tasteless, it lacked flavor and the texture left a rough feel on my tongue. The beef hash was mushy and red, it left much to be desired. There was no crispiness on the hash or the english muffin at all. The potatoes weren't bad but there were some questionable burnt pieces mixed in. The caramel on the bananas fosters pancake was overly cooked to the point where it was crunchy and bitter. The bananas were unripe so they were kind of hard. Maybe it's because I've worked at a breakfast restaurant with good food before, so I was so grossed out by all this food. I couldn't finish a single thing on my plates. Save yourself the trouble and either order something else or don't come here at all.

    Love the shirts
    Rene D.

Found this place across from the Joint. Just came outta there and came here. Our server Anna is awesome and chatted us up a bit. I love their shirts with the sayings on them... defiantly CRACKED me up today. She is so cute (looking and personality )! I had Eggs Bene today and boy was that good. Haven't had that in awhile. Also one blueberry pancake. So yummy. Bf helped with that! He ordered a Greek omelete with ham, then potatoes with onions n green peppers etc. they were equally good. Service was great from Anna. She always came around with refills as well as small talk. Love the decor and the T-shirt's they wear... lol!

Omg, you gotta try this coastal crab cake benedict, the grits are always good. I wanted to try something different an excellent choice
    Patricia Y.

The coastal crab cake benedict is scrumptious, glad I ordered something new! Please try

I always leave satisfied. This place is great! I came on their opening day, and have been back at least 10 times since. The same quality as Devine St. but with less of a wait. It's the best breakfast food (in my opinion) here in Columbia. They have all your basics, but it's fresh, fast, and delicious. 100% recommend! You'll be happy with whatever you choose! But I am partial to the waffles. :P

The house burger with fries has become our favorite. In fact we consider it the best hamburger in Columbia by far. Always cooked to perfection and served hot and fresh. Our waitress tonight was Lydia and she is awesome. Very attentive and makes sure that the order comes out correct and served promptly. They have a brand new "A" rating on the door so obviously they keep it clean and are quick to make corrections. We have seen them slammed and quiet, but they always do a wonderful job cooking and serving their customers to make them happy. Highly recommend and will continue to enjoy one of our favorite go-to places for a great dinner.

The broccoli was cooked well , not hard but not soft and had some spice to it. I ordered the hanger steak with sweet potatoes instead of fries and omg it was so good. I got my steak cooked medium well, and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I loved the Parmesan on top of the sweet potatoes. It was the perfect pair. The drink I got was a white sangria which was sweet but not too sweet. You could def taste the wine and all the fruit flavors. My girl go the oven brick salmon and that didn't miss either. The restaurant is medium-sized with a small patio of about six tables. It was a beautiful day, so we chose to sit outside since the dining room was a bit loud. It took a couple of minutes for a host to seat us, but we did arrive during peak lunchtime on a Monday, so it wasn't a big deal. Once seated, our server, Seavy, was fantastic. He was very attentive, friendly, and had a great personality. I ordered the brisket plate, my husband had the half chicken, and the third person in our party ordered the brisket sandwich. My brisket was fantastic--very moist and a generous portion. The hush puppies were tiny but crispy and delicious, and the bacon-wrapped jalapeños were outstanding. My husband really enjoyed his chicken, which was also moist, along with the collards and coleslaw. The brisket sandwich was huge and came with coleslaw and a side of mac & cheese, and everything was very good. What stood out most was the portion size and the quality of the food for the price. Overall, we had a great meal and would definitely come back.

When I walked in, I was amazed at what I saw inside, as it definitely was not what I was expecting (and I mean that in a good way!). I loved how dimly lit it was inside, which was complemented by miniature lights that were strung from the ceiling. Speaking of the aforementioned change of pace, I also appreciated how there were no TVs inside, which created an intimate atmosphere that focused more on conversing with your friends than watching whatever may have been on TV. Finally, as someone who always pays attention to a restaurant's artwork... I absolutely LOVED the artwork that was on display at Goat's. They had so many cool pieces of eclectic artwork, that you could almost consider it as much a small art museum as a restaurant. My favorite art piece is kind of hard to describe, but I guess you could say that it was of a God-like man in a suit controlling somebody who was playing golf. (I know, it's hard to describe, but like I said, it's eclectic.) My one (1) downside to Goat's, and the only thing keeping it from a five-star review, is that the bartender and servers were all pretty rude and arrogant. This is speculation, but maybe Goat's is one of those places that considers itself a "regulars" bar, and isn't very nice to people who aren't regular customers, but the three (3) employees I interacted with weren't all that inviting. All in all, Goat's was a great experience, and if it were an option, I'd probably give it something like 4.5 or 4.8 stars if I could. If the servers were a little less full of themselves, or maybe just in a better mood, I'd consider it a five-star experience. Nevertheless, Goat's was a great experience, I'll definitely be back, and I'd recommend that anybody stop in if they're looking for a unique experience in Five Points!
