Well, I see a few negative comments so I might have caught it on a good day but I had the Eggs Bennie with corned beef hash and I completely enjoyed it. Service was prompt and courteous and the poached eggs were perfectly cooked. The sauce was the correct consistency and the flavor was exactly as it should be. The Eggs Up in Gastonia needs to get their act together! Their food is pretty good, BUT THE SERVICE IS HORRIBLE! I called to place a to go order and was asked to hold. My call then got dropped. I called back and was asked to hold again. This time I waited 10 minutes and NO ONE ever came back on the phone to take my order! I tried calling again, and the line was busy because they left it off the hook from never coming back to my 2nd phone call! We rode to Eggs Up and placed our order. We told them about what happened and asked to speak to a manager. We were told he "wasn't available" and received a half-hearted "I apologize". This is not the first time this has happened! There's no excuse for this! Gastonia needs more (and better) restaurants that serve breakfast! I had high hopes for Eggs Up but it disappoints time and time again! And they've been open long enough now that they should be running like a "well oiled machine"! read more

I am updating this review to reflect the improved service we received today. When we arrived, we were promptly seated and approached to order our waters and coffees. We also ordered their blueberry muffins, which last time were charred to a crisp. Today, they arrived timely and were perfectly golden brown - huge improvement there! But when we ordered our entrées, it was short of 45 minutes until we received them, so we spent a lot of time sitting and twiddling our thumbs. Staff came by once to check in. My husband ordered the waffle with eggs over hard and turkey bacon, which were all delicious. I ordered the crabcake benedict, which was supposed to come with two poached eggs. Instead, I received two hard boiled eggs to the point where they were gritty and dry, smothered (too heavily) in their hollandaise sauce. Being 20 weeks pregnant, I wasn't feeling the best after. Not a 5-star service, but there was an improvement from the last go-round. To the owner, more training on food preparation would be ideal. read more

Lucky I gave it one star to be honest. Waitress Erica was great, did forget a few things but I feel like she was the only one working that day. 20 mins to wait for a table no problem, had to pick up a few things from the store nearby anyways. Once seated got our drinks, just waters because we all gotta stay hydrated out in the heat, Erica took our orders shortly after. This is when it goes down hill. Waited over an hour for our food; pancakes, breakfast burrito, and an omelette. While waiting, which there is no cell service at all in the whole building, I got to looking around. The younger staff loves to congregate near the hostess stand at the front of the restaurant doors, when customers come in it's always a side eye then "it'll be a 45 mins to an hour wait because of the kitchen" not a "hey how are you guys.... Blah blah blah". Not sure how a kitchen staff gets that backed up when there wasn't that many people in the restaurant is beyond me. People got up and left, people scratched their names off the wait list, people not even giving them the time of day when they hear the wait times. In my opinion it would be such a nice establishment if they just had some type order in staffing and the kitchen it wouldn't be so bad. We arrived at 9:56 and put our names on the list, they said it would be a 30 to 45 minute wait. Now they had about six tables with no one seated at them and 9 seats at the counter that they were not using. The host had no communication skills and seemed like he didn't know what to do. The manager would tell him when and how many tables to seat. Now it is 10:50 and the manager just started to seat anyone not going by the list just taking anyone and seating them! Well why did you not do that 50 minutes ago. She was seating people that just walked in. So now the kitchen was going to be slammed so we left and went to IHOP. IHOP seated us as soon as we walked in it was very busy. We got waited on quickly. Our meal came, we ate, payed our bill in less than 50 minutes. Now that's how it is done eggs mix up. So after enjoying the location in rock hill- we were excited to see this location open. We have been there 4 times since ,, each experience getting worse ,, mostly due the following- the quality of the food( kept showing up cold) to slow Waite staff- the last visit the girl starred right at us BSing with an off the clock employee at the counter while we waited for service . My daughter ordered tea and it came in a very dirty cup( we guessed it was pancake batter?) I ordered the Philly cheese steak omelette- very little flavor ( granted to each his own) no one in our party left happy . Only been open a couple weeks. Went in at 12:30 Sunday afternoon. Seated at 1:20. That's fair. Took OVER AN HOUR TO GET OUR FOOD. Four of us just kept waiting, fortunately we were good company. I was a bit concerned with some of the Yelp reviews but our experience there was awesome! Brandi provided excellent service and our food was fast, exactly what we ordered, and tasted great! I had the Southern breakfast bowl and, if you were raised on grits like me, it was to die for! Grits, breakfast potatoes, sausage, eggs, & gravy. I'm not a big gravy fan, so I skipped that. We decided to give this place a try today, I've been to the one in Pawleys many times. The food was good and arrived fast. That's not my knock. The operations of this place is trash, or at least it was today, 7/3/22. I can't believe I'm saying this but it was way over staffed. There were to many people that didn't know what they were doing. Waitresses wondering around aimlessly. So much free time, the service was bad. Awkwardly mingling with patrons and I felt uncomfortable for those patrons. There were 4 ladies at the host stand for a seated crowd of 30 and no wait at the front door. Waitresses arguing with hostesses about who gets the next table and where the next group of patrons would go. Waitresses trying to direct the hostess. This shouldn't happen. Your hostess is in charge of table flow. Waitresses should focus on proving a great experience and maximize their take home pay. I work in a vastly complicated healthcare operations role, I would just love a day to help these owners and operators find operational efficiency and teamwork. I would hate to see this business fail or not thrive to its potential. No place of business should be this dysfunctional. Me, my boyfriend, and my son went to eat here this past weekend and it was a great experience. The manager, Shantarra (?) I believe is her name (so sorry if I got that wrong) and the waitress I had, Kendall was super sweet and they both had great hospitality. The manager helped me seat my toddler and Kendall helped open up his straw for him as well while I was tending to something else he was needing at the moment. It truly is the little things as a parent that makes you appreciate people and I just wanted to let them know that it didn't go unnoticed! The food was great as well. My son loved it. read more

Waitress was all over the place. We watched her bring food out and not have a clue we're it went and then run it back. She put our food on table of 6 across us and ran (they came in way after us) After they pawed my burger and realized it wasn't theirs my husband told her that was our order.... less than 2 minutes later she brought my burger back out with finger prints on the bun and cheese and I had originally ordered no pickles and xtra mayo I ask for another plate so the 4th time the burger came out it was without the pickles and still didn't have mayonnaise on it, I took a bite and it taste and smelled like pickles.... I was done!!! Our son got his grits and potatoes half way through eating his meal after we drew it to her attention they were missing but never got his toast manager asked like she was doing us a favor by taking the burger meal off the bill. Worst service and manager tryed to argue with me about the whole situation DONE DONE DONE wish I would've takes a picture of the bun on the hamburger that the tooth pick had been removed then re-entered in another spot and the finger print on the melted cheese. The waitress then tryed to argue it wasn't her fault. Yes it was she put our order on another table!! I was so excited to hear eggs up grill was coming to Gastonia. But, I have tried this place 3 times and each time...has gotten worse. 1st time, they didn't have all the ingredients for my order, substitutions were fine- they are just opening, give them some time to get things in order. 2nd time, the waitress continued to tell how badly she wanted her shift to be over and go home, after putting the second bite of food in my mouth, she asked me to go ahead and pay my check - I declined until I finished my meal. Today I ordered lunch, the phone order was difficult for the person taking my order, but we got through it. When I arrived, a young man asked how he could help me, I explained I was picking up my order. He told me the amount and I gave him a $20 bill, he said: "You're paying with cash"? Yes, he stood there with a blank look...looked at a computer screen and said: "I'll have to go get help". I then watched as the manager and all the wait staff shuffled around looking for change, he brought me change and even knocked off .79 as they couldn't make change properly! THEN...I checked my order of Eggs Benedict, no grits or butter, poached eggs about the size about the size of a quarter and I'll splurge and say maybe 2 tablespoons of hollandaise sauce. I just took the food back in and asked for my money back. I so wanted this place to be as great as the stores in Charlotte, Rock Hill, Shallotte and Myrtle Beach, they need to visit any of these stores and learn how to run this place. read more
