Back: Goodness Gracious Front: Build Your Own Omelet
    Skye A.

Cute diner. The colors inside were red and yellow. That reminded me more of hotdogs than anything. The staff were all very polite and kind. I was a little surprised there wasn't a Western Omelette option on the menu. That is usually pretty standard for any diner. My husband and I both got omelettes. He got the Goodness Gracious omelette, and I did a create your own since there wasn't a Western omelette option I could add toppings in. I got ham, cheddar, green peppers, onions, jalapeños, and spinach. The meal comes with breakfast potatoes or grits, and your choice of toast. There were quite a lot of toast options which was great. My omelette was good and very full of the toppings; however, there wasn't much cheese to even out the ratio. The potatoes were amazing, and although the toast is simply bread, my rye toast was delicious. I did ask for it dry, but it came out lathered in butter. Thankfully, it hadn't melted so I could scrape it off for the most part. I did read other reviews and can confirm that the kitchen staff did not have on hair nets which I find odd when working around food. Usually a hat, net, or both is required or hair is tied back in a tight bun or something for ladies. Overall, good visit!

Eggs Up Grill is a classic breakfast diner. Even with lines to get it, they move the food and tables quickly and efficiently and delicious morning food (regardless of time of day.) Affordable spot when you don't want to be a short order cook in your home.

    Hilarious

Please consider splurging for the 2nd piece of bread for the kids grilled cheese. I'd be mad if I could stop laughing. We used to love eating here, but lately the number of corners cut have made this location a non-option.

Friendly service and great breakfast food! They also have a gluten free choice for pancakes which my girlfriend enjoyed.

Good breakfast, but not amazing. Food reminded me of IHOP, but definitely better service.

I had takeout that was purchased an hour prior to when I had lunch, but when I went to open my meal, it was still warm & fresh! It was also wrapped and packaged neatly. I got a veggie burger with cheese, which tasted great! The patty was definitely full of veggies. All the sandwich ingredients were fresh and the whole wheat bun was a nice surprise. The sweet potato fries were also yummy and didn't taste too fried or oily. I would've thought they were baked! For a burger and fries, I didn't feel gross and sluggish afterwards either. I would definitely visit here sometime!

Had the chicken club sandwich with fries and a water. I love a good club sandwich and this didn't disappoint! It was very tasty and satisfying and the chicken was cooked to pet and juicy! The bacon was crisp and the fries were golden brown, crispy and sweet. The inside was extremely clean and comfortable. The temperature inside was cool and the aroma made you hungry. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that it was lunchtime on a Saturday on Wade Hampton and thin place was not very busy. This really scares me when the food is this good but the place isn't busy. This is definitely another "will return soon" place. If you're reading this, yes, give it a try. I think I spent maybe $15 for my meal. Not horrible in today's economy.

Craft cocktails and house beers served at a bustling wood-heavy bar, playful signage, local flair, and a relaxed but rowdy Southern vibe. The bartender bursting with Southern personality stands behind the rich, wood-worn bar, confident and radiant. Her sleeves are rolled up, a few loose strands of hair catching the daylight as she moves with effortless rhythm. A warm, knowing smile spreads across her face as she happily serves a jug of the house-made egg nog. Soon after, she prepares a crafty Old Fashioned--measuring the bourbon, stirring clear ice in a heavy rocks glass, perfectly embodying the brewery's quirky southern soul and big-hearted attitude. There's a lived-in comfort to the space: scuffed wood that tells stories, sunlight pooling across tables, and small-town pride in every detail. The atmosphere is welcoming and unpretentious, equal parts gathering place and second home. It's where locals come not just for the beer or cocktails, but for the familiarity--the nods, the shared jokes, the sense of belonging that keeps them hanging around long after the glass is empty. Cheers!

The Clock has been here for over forty years. Longer than most marriages. Longer, certainly, than…read morethe one my parents had, which lasted closer to thirty years and ended, according to my father, because of a disagreement about a sectional sofa. I think about that sometimes. I think about it now, pulling into the parking lot, because there is something about a place that has simply endured that feels like a rebuke to everything that hasn't. Inside, locals from near and nearer move through the dining room, shaking hands with people who have been eating here for years. Years. I can't keep a houseplant alive for six months, and these people have been coming back, reliably, to this same place, to order the same food, for years. Chili cheeseburger after chili cheeseburger that creates a sense of togetherness and, at times, heart attacks. There's something almost painful about that kind of loyalty. Or maybe I'm just projecting. I find myself staring at the alternating layers of patty, chili, cheese, and I think onions for a moment before eating, the way you might stare at a word you've written too many times until it stops looking like a word. It is good. It is genuinely, embarrassingly good, in the way that things are good when they have not been overthought. And it was delicious in spite of health value. If you're eating at The Clock for health value, I direct you to the salads with prejudice. The menu runs from salads, to tacos, to hot dogs to a meat and three (or for those in Greer, a meat and four), which is not a range you encounter often in a single establishment. It is the culinary equivalent of a man who says he can fix anything. You are skeptical, and then you watch him fix the thing, and you don't know whether to be impressed or slightly ashamed of your own limitations. Ask anyone around town and they'll tell you about roller skating car hops, late night gatherings after high school games, real ice cream milkshakes. Nobody tells you stories like that about a place they didn't love. They're not telling you about the food. They're telling you about who they were when they ate it. I order the sweet tea. It arrives cold and correct. I'm certain my dentist has a handshake agreement with Jimmy that both will keep each other in business a long time. I will come back here, but not as often as I should. We all have our faults. The Clock has few.
