The wife and I has been going there for breakfast. We always get the Lamb and Eggs which is pretty good!

We visited during what appeared to be a slower-than-normal time (based on Google), and when we arrived there were actually more staff than customers in the dining room. Despite that, this ended up being one of the slowest breakfast experiences we've had. The "Gooey" "tear and share" item was nearly burnt and, ironically, very difficult to tear and share, even with a knife. Coffee was brought out promptly, which we appreciated, but it wasn't refilled until we were almost completely finished with the meal. I had just a couple bites left before finally getting a refill. Food overall was just okay. The Huevos Rancheros were fine but missing jalapeños, and my wife's Benedict was decent but had lite hollandaise sauce compared all the Benedict's we've had. For the price, this place doesn't deliver the level of quality or service you'd expect. Adding an automatic 20% tip on top of that just made the experience more frustrating, especially since the service felt in line with what you often see at places that auto-gratuity. Overall, not somewhere we'd return to. read more

Went here on a busy Sunday and our host Chrystal was incredibly nice and accommodating. The vibes were great and the food eggceeded our eggspectations. The staff was amazing and our server went the eggxtra mile to make sure everything was perfect, cracked a few yolks with us as well. Stopped by with my two daughters for breakfast this morning and we all ordered entrees with "SCRAMBLED EGGS ". Very disappointed in that the eggs weren't scrambled but just basically folded together and plated with quite a bit of whites within. Scrambled eggs should be golden, fluffy and without whites showing.. BOH staff should be properly trained on the preparation of different categories of eggs just as you would do with steak temps Price point is too high to not receive your order as requested. This restaurant has always been packed every time we would come to Latitude. Today, we decided to give it a try. We called ahead to see if there was a wait time and it was not. When we arrived we were seated immediately. The atmosphere is clean and they have a bar area with TVs. The server came over within 5 minutes if us being seated. We asked for her opinion on what was popular. Our food came out in a timely manner. The flavor was for more better than expected. The lamb chops were cooked just the way I like it. We were a party of 3 and no one had any complaints about their food. Now, gratuity of 20% is included. Our server was attentive until she was pulled to cover a party of 20 people. It took a little longer to get refills and our bill for the food. She did apologize for that. I will return again in the future. read more

Came into Eggspectation after an appointment at Stony Point and I'm so glad we stopped in. The menu has A LOT of options, so if you're very hungry it may be difficult to choose. They have all day breakfast which I love. I chose the eggstravaganza, I loved that I was able to add toppings to my French toast and enjoyed the sweet and savoryness of this breakfast. My mom went with the burger with an egg. I love that it came with both a salad and fries. The salad was very fresh and the house vinaigrette was excellent. The maple syrup came in a warmed bottle which was a really nice touch. Our server was absolutely incredible, so nice, friendly and helpful navigating the large menu. Horrible service. Today my son graduated from the 8th grade, and our family was really looking forward to celebrating at Eggspectation. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The manager working with the back of house was very disrespectful and behaved unprofessionally. The overall atmosphere and level of service were far below expectations. This establishment has really fallen in the ranks of breakfast spots in the Richmond area. I hope management takes customer concerns seriously and works to improve both professionalism and service. read more

I was really excited to try the chicken & waffle but it was really bland. The waitress only came around at the end to give us the check, never asked how the food was or gave refills. I asked her if she could remove my barely touched chicken & waffle from the check & for more water. The manager came over to try to resolve & finally gave us a refill & offered food to go, very kind of her! I did have to decline because I had already waited an hour to even be checked on and we just wanted to go on about our day at that point. They add a 20% gratuity which I wouldn't mind if the service was decent. read more

The ambiance inside was okay, we sat on the bar side, there was a pesky gnat at our table so that was annoying but the restaurant seemed clean. If you have not been in a while you will notice there has been a menu change - and sadly, one of my faves is gone. But, THIS crab and pesto shrimp omelette is the reason I will keep coming back over and over again! They have plenty of seating and a private room and a small outdoor patio. I was excited to try this place today. We had breakfast and I was excited that they had gluten free bread and pancakes. My partner had breakfast tacos and I had a breakfast sandwich on gluten free bread. Everything came soggy and not fully cooked. The salad wasn't dressed, it just had oil on it. It just wasn't good. Our server was great at answering my questions because I was undecided on brunch or lunch items as the menu had both. Food was terrible, my wife had to return her chicken Schnitzel because it was burned and had no lemon sauce. Her second Chicken Schnitzel was better, but dry, again with no lemon sauce as the menu stated. I ordered the 3 small crab cakes had a lot of filler in it, it was ok, but not worth the $38. The aspargus was overcooked. One good note the fries were good and the waiter was excellent, unfortunely it went down hill from there. Came for a brunch on a Sunday afternoon. Eggspectation was a very popular spot as people were constantly in and out. We did not have to wait to be seated which was nice and our service started out okay but took a turn as the meal progressed on. I think our servers name was Nay. We put in a drink order for ONE flight of Mimosas. This took a long time to come. In fact, the server passed by and said as soon as she finished garnishing it she would bring it right over. And we all thought why are YOU garnishing the drinks. There is a big bar in the center of this place and it was practically empty but the outside tables were full as well as the inside. It was obvious our server was working inside and out so if the bartender is just chilling hard, why isn't she garnishing the damn drinks instead of this other girl running around all crazy. It definitely hurt the service. So much so that by the time we got her attention to take our order one of my companions asked for a cup of coffee and had to say, "the coffee is an urgent request" and the girl still had to be flagged down for it. The menu was pretty extensive and I was torn between several dishes but settled on the Huevos Rancheros. Other people got random breakfast meals like two eggs any style, you know what I mean but you have non breakfast choices as well. I also got a side of potatoes. My heuvos were okay. I have had better but the potatoes I did not care for and barely ate. The had zero seasoning and were non-crisp. Yes, I prefer a crispy morning potato. Someone had pancakes that still seemed undone in the center and another had bacon that was limp and had to be sent back. Cooks rushing I suppose. There was one standout for sure, the cheesy grits!!! As a restaurant owner myself I don't like leaving negative but, first time here and in the door the staff is friendly and the place is clean with great menu choices. Our server was very friendly however, the food was not hot, simply luke warm and as my wife and I were Finnishing up our meals my sister still had not received her meal, when asked for the 3rd time where her food was we were told , "it's coming". Finally after requesting to speak wirh the manager we were told the cook dropped her plate. I get it, things happen but this should have been told to us in the beginning. Service - waitress rating of 4 although she never asked how the meal was that someone else dropped off w/o the coleslaw which she retrieved quickly. Rating for the food selection 2 and that's generous. It was the worst I've ever ordered. Mostly batter and a very little piece of alleged haddock fish. The amount of batter gave the appearance that it was a large piece of fish, but I quickly uncovered the skillful deception. The tiny cup of coleslaw was terrible as well. The fish was tasteless as well as the coleslaw, except for tons of black pepper. The plate had LOTS of fries. If only they cut back on fries and had a reasonable size of fish vs batter that would have been great. This was my second visit. I had the beet salad during my first visit and it was good, but service wasn't adequate on that visit. I wanted to try something different and so regretted that decision. Why do I never hear about this place?? If there's one thing I appreciate about a breakfast/brunch place it's the spread of options and the ability to have your sweet AND savory and this place d-e-l-I-v-e-r-s. We started with the "goose bread" which is their spin on a monkey bread. Freshly baked bread, coated in house-made salted maple caramel sauce and dusted with cinnamon and sugar. It was great, full of cinnamon maple sugar goodness . They offer specialty coffees (boozy and non boozy), fancy omelettes, combos that allow you to have it all , and other breakfast centric specialties (hello almond croissant French toast?!). They also have a more lunch centric menu for those not breakfast inclined (you're not my people, but I see you ). I had the southwest sunrise omelette, a three-cheese blend of cheddar, Swiss, and mozzarella with sauteed red and green peppers, topped with strips of freshly sliced avocado, house-made pico de gallo, jalapenos, and sour cream. I subbed the Lyonnaise-style potatoes for a tossed green salad (the vinaigrette was so yum) and upgraded the toast for a croissant - highly recommend! read more

Stopped in at 4pm on a Saturday to treat my parents to an early dinner, we were seated right away, no one was here-that should have been my first clue. We ordered coffee, hot tea (milk served in a tiny plastic soufflé cup) and a latte---heads up the latte is so sweet it hurt my teeth so I traded with dad for his black coffee. Dad really liked it, it tasted like pumpkin pie. Our orders: Dad: pancakes ham, potatoes and 2 eggs over easy--the waitress asked did he mean like scrambled? (This is a restaurant dedicated to eggs remember) when we tried to explain eggs over easy-she interrupted and described scrambled eggs...again.so step by step we explained over easy eggs... Mom:salted Carmel Belgium waffle with strawberries. Me:traditional eggs Benedict with seasoned potatoes. Sadly, the butter never melted on moms waffle even with the warm syrup, but the flavor was great. The eggs Benedict were served cooler than room temp, refrigerated sauce and barely toasted generic muffin will do that. There was a drizzle of hollandaise sauce, the seasoned potatoes were deep fried sliced potatoes with...I kid you not, 4 slivers of onion and a sprinkle of parsley. I asked for more sauce and it was barely warm from the fridge. The staff really need some training. There is potential, but just lacking execution. A real disaster. An automatic 20% tip, not much service when we got dirty cups, (see the pics) had to ask for silverware AFTER our food was served, find someone to cash us our, never got refills on the water, we had to find the server to get stuff after the plates were dumped off. Pretty sad. I guess we'll stick with city diner, there is a reason we always wait for a table at City Diner. The owner from here should check it out, maybe they can give him some pointers.
