As I watched her bring out 2 orders of donuts to a table (10 mins apart) Donuts were not hot although we waited 20 mins. Not sure what took so long or why she didn't check at the 10 min mark -- how long does it take to drop 14 donuts. I generally love First Watch, but this location is lackluster. It started with being seated by a less than enthusiastic sloth walking lady. I ordered the avocado toast like I have ordered in the past in many locations. I never received stale bread. I could not even subdue the staleness with my eggs over easy. Waitress was nice, but MIA. No " how is your food; do you need more water or coffee". Overall I will not return back to this location. Keep your stale bread and eat it yourself. One more note - dont dust the wait room while customers try to eat their food. Disgusting! read more

First Watch is one of those chains that actually gets it right. The vibe is always super welcoming, and the staff is genuinely friendly. I had the Wild Berry Lavender French Toast and wow... absolutely spectacular. Fluffy, rich, and that lavender touch makes it feel special without being over the top. Easily one of the best French toasts I've ever had. For a chain, the quality is impressive. You can tell they put care into what they serve. Makes me sad to leave this review because I'm a first watch frequent flyer. I will say normally first watch is phenomenal and this is the first time I've ever been displeased. The service was fine and the food came out quickly but the problems were with the food itself. I ordered a works omelet same with the potatoes on the side and toast same thing I've ordered a 100 times. The eggs were undercooked to the point they felt much in the middle I will say everything inside the omelet was cooked well but the eggs themselves were undercooked. Also the potatoes were also undercooked it was like you know when you don't cook a potatoes long enough they're kinda hard and have that very distinct kinda raw potato taste that's exactly what this was. Overall I kinda concluded that maybe they just rushed and that was the reason for everything being undercooked. Also my girlfriend had ordered a sandwich and salad the sandwich was phenomenal but the corn on the salad again was very undercooked and extremely hard to the point it was unchewable. Will definitely visit first watch again just more than likely not this one. Ambience and atmosphere was amazing as always tho. read more

Had 2 eggs over easy, plain grits, chicken sausage patties, home fries and whole grain toast. Toast was a bit over buttered. Eggs could have been left on the griddled so they would be a warmer runny yolk. The chicken patties were great and had such great flavor. My potatoes sadly were cold. My waitress brought another plate of them when she came by to check how everything was. I like coming here because everything is cooked fresh and your taste buds can agree to that. I had been wanting to try this location for brunch for SO long; but I had no idea it used to be the Egg & I, which I frequented a lot while pregnant with my daughter. Since we were already in the area, we decided to drop in during brunch & we were not disappointed! The food was just SO amazing, and our waiter, James, just made it a great experience overall. Man, I was so excited that a new location of First Watch was opening near me. Maybe this one will get it right! Unfortunately, no. This franchise has all the right ingredients but seems to struggle in delivering service. We have been twice to the Hull St location. Still love the menu but the cook was not consistent in the two visits over two weekends. First visit the poaches eggs were right, second visit they were over cooked. I am starting to think that the food might be prepared well but sits too long Waiting for the servers to pick it up and bring to tables. I will say if you go, order the iced coffee. Sooooo yummy! I was disappointed to watch a table that got there before us wait until well after us (which was too long) to be acknowledged by a server. The older woman actually flagged one down. We waited Nd then our server tried to make excuses. I don't want excuses. I stand by my thoughts on the other location that disappoints. Seems their process for managing front of house is awful and this will be the reason I stop coming if it doesn't get better. Food can be awesome but if service sucks I am not coming. read more

I was staying in Midlothian for business and came here one morning for breakfast, on a weekday and was happy to be able to walk in and be seated immediately, without a wait. Many times I go to First Watch restaurants, there are typically waits (and this place is well-worth the wait!). The breakfast dish I ordered was tasty and creative. The toast was awesome and the potatoes were fresh and seasoned very nicely. The coffee was very good as well. Service was on par with what I would expect and I was happy about that. So, I know we were gambling going to brunch on a Saturday morning, but we took advantage of their "get in line" seating option online. We were quoted 30-45 minute wait. So we left after 30 minutes. Got there about five minutes before our wait time. When we checked in, the hostess (who must have been new because she needed lots of instruction) said there were three parties ahead of us. No big deal. No less than eight tables got seated ahead of us. We even checked and they said you're next in line. And two more people got seated. A second hostess apologized and said the manager had jumped in to help but instead went out of order. One person had checked in and then checked in again online and we're told they were 7th in line. It was the definition of a cluster****. As soon as we were finally seated the waitress complained to the hostess that she sat us in our section because they had a large table. The other table to our right had a literal Karen (that was the name she gave the hostess, hand to God) at it that complained about food and drinks through out. She barely checked on us but checked quite a bit at the large top table. Come to find out, she knew them and thus they got all the attention. The food was tasty but I'd expect bigger portions for the price. I had the elote hash, my husband had the farmhouse tacos, and my daughter got the kids bacon and eggs. They forgot her toast and we had to ask for it and then they brought the wrong bread (luckily she loves multigrain so we didn't complain). I promise I've been MORE than understanding with places during covid. We tip well and understand wait times can be long with limited seating options. However, this was just mismanagement on the managers part on not doing a great job training the hostesses and then acting without fully understanding the situation. Overall, don't bother on a weekend morning unless the host stand looks like they've got it together. read more
