I've been back twice with friends since my husband and I discovered this gem a few weeks ago. The food is excellent -- this morning I got the Tuscan omelette, while my friend ordered the crepes with strawberries -- and the service is always 5-star. The owner's son was managing the cafe on my first visit, and he took great care to check in at every table to make sure all the guests had a great experience. We spoke for several minutes, and his passion for the business was evident. This morning, our waitress was super friendly and always at the ready to top off our coffee or get anything else we needed. Now the wait was a little long on a Saturday. We waited 20 minutes to be seated. The location is small. We were quickly greeted and offered coffee. My son ordered a hot chocolate and it was delivered promptly. Since it was very hot he asked for bread to dip into the hot chocolate. My son and husband could see into the kitchen and they had his bread but they didn't bring it to him. I ordered the chorizo scramble and I did not enjoy it. The eggs were cooked too long. I'm not a picky eater but I could not even stomach it. I also ordered a size of French toast. The French toast was yummy. I also ordered grits and they were okay. Nothing phenomenal about them. 3 1/2 stars: This is a great local breakfast/lunch spot. I was kind of weary at first, but it's good. They have fresh food, and it comes out hot. They also have a good variety on the menu. There is something for everyone. I'm eating healthy & got chicken apple sausage, wheat toast, and eggs. Rating this place 2 stars because my best friend and I got sick from this place. I would've rated this place a 1 star but the host was extremely friendly and welcoming. So the two stars come from the environment which was nicely decorated with the smell of coffee throughout the place and the host. I ordered the "Cowboy Omelet" which had bacon, ham, sausage and cheddar cheese. I also got a side of hash browns and toast. My best friend ordered the "Chicken Fried Steak" and I tried some of it. It was decent, tasted a bit dry, but the gravy helped with that. We believe that we both probably got sick from the hash browns because they tasted funny. Our waitress was rushing us to give her our order. She came around 3 times before we could order and that was because we were adding sugar and cream to our coffee. It was also our first time here so I'm not sure why she was rushing us. We felt that she kind of forgot about us after she gave us our bill. We weren't sure if we were suppose to pay at the table or not. So we waited around to see if she would come back, she didn't. We went to the gentleman (the host) who seated us and he told us that that was where we had to pay. It would've been nice to have direction about that. Hate to rate this place with 2 stars, but I'm being extremely generous because this place deserves only 1 star. I don't trust this place, so I doubt I'll be back again, sorry. read more

One word for this place: DELICIOUS! I came on a Sunday around noon and oh dear was it packed! The wait was about 10 minutes and they were very quick in cleaning the tables off as soon as people were done. Our waitress was very sweet and very helpful. I got the crepes combo with a side of hash browns. The crepes combo comes with a side of eggs, bacon, sausage patties, and your choice of crepes. I chose the very berry crepes, which by the way, was so good! I was so full but I couldn't stop eating! My friend got the avocado eggs Benedict or something like that. Came here on a Sunday around 12 and we just happened to grab the last table available, thank goddddd. It's hot and there's no way I was going to wait around outside. First impressions were holy cow this place is busy, and this place is really hot. I don't think they have air conditioning? There was a huge fan behind the hostess stand but other than that it was super humid and hot in the restaurant. We were helped pretty quickly and our food was great. I ordered a salad that came out great and my fiancé had French toast that he said was excellent. The banana Nutella crepe was a beautiful, sweet ending to our breakfast. My boyfriend got the biscuits and gravy omelette which was also very good. The biscuits are actually folded into the omelette, so you'd think the biscuits would be soggy right? Nope. Still wonderfully crisp and the gravy was obviously made in-house.. or at least not from a packet. What made everything even sweeter was the amazing customer service. Everything started out okay until our food arrived. We were a group of 7 and we are at 2 tables right next to each other. I usually when I go to a breakfast place I'll order steak and eggs. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out almost fully rare. You could not even cut it and had absolutely no taste at all and was completely bland. The eggs were bearable but was nothing special. The hasbrowns were crispy on the outside and after you got past that, it was all mush beyond that and it was not edible. I also got toast with my order and they only had wheat and white so I went with white. The toast was pre-buttered and was all soggy with no crunch at all. The only thing I would have again would be the water. When we were getting our food they constantly mixed up our tables and would give the wrong order to another table. Maybe about 10 minutes into eating my friend across the table ordered an additional french toast. They ended up giving it to the wrong table and even when they told her that they didn't order it she still gave it to him anyways. We then asked what happened to the french toast and she laughed and said she brought it to the wrong table. She then asked if he wanted another one but it would have to be charged. We were done at that point, not willing to pay for a new french toast we never got and the fact that we had already finished eating and wanted to leave. Our waitress never checked up on how we were doing or how the food was once. When we asked for some extra butter she gave us some attitude and said "you need more butter?" looking very confused. She mixed up our tables and was just not inviting. I will never go back to this location and am very disappointed with the food and service we experienced. read more

While not impressive from the street, once inside you find a large, open fun space with peppy music and some big-screen sports if you're so inclined. And the food! I tried the eponymous Eggsellent Skillet, substituting sweet potato hash browns for the regular kind. So worth the $1.29 up charge ! Over medium eggs perfectly cooked atop the sweet potatoes, fresh mushrooms, and fresh spinach. Paired with the most heavenly English muffin. Crunchy on outside; hot, buttery, and chewy center.
