We live down the street and thought "We should give this a try. So I checked the yelp ratings and had a little unsureness by some of the lower ratings but figured give it a try. We got there early on a Sunday morning. It was fantastic. We were seated immediately. The staff was very nice and attentive. The meal was excellent. I had the best chicken fried steak. Beware of the 75-cent surcharge on eggs! It had been a few months since I last visited this restaurant, so I decided to go for breakfast. The light rain made me hurry inside. Although some people had already noticed the egg surcharge, I had been aware of it for months. As a result of the bird flu, national chains and mom-and-pop restaurants had to pass on the higher cost of eggs to their customers instead of absorbing it themselves. While waiting at the hostess stand to be seated, I noticed that there was no signage indicating the egg surcharge. Neither was it mentioned on the table or on the printed menu. When I placed my order, my waitress did not mention it either. Only when she dropped off my check did she point to an 8x11" paper on the door that revealed the surcharge. I love coming to our local Le Peep! Living close by in Austin Ranch, it's a quick drive for some good eats and great service! The service is always fast and friendly and I'm not exaggerating when I say, I CRAVE to eat here about once a week. The coffee drinks are good, I've recently tried the spring matcha specials and loved them! The food is always tasty & although I'm more of a savory breakfast gal, their sweets get me! French toast is incredible and I love that they have a new pancake of the month every month. You really can't go wrong with any of the menu items but I love their Tex-mex brunch options. The wait staff is totally different on the weekends and Dominated by untrained kids. Seems that the cooks are the same..... an explanation for the difference in food quality. Yum, yum, yum!! I came here for the first time this past weekend and I think I have found one of my new favorite little brunch spots. The food was delicious. I can't remember the exact name of the dish that was on the menu however I do know it came with an English muffin (toasted!), two eggs, three pieces of sausage (I ordered turkey sausage) and hash browns! It was a pile of food and it really filled me up! The service was good. The wait time for the food to arrive at our table was a little bit long however the food was delicious. Le Peep has the most adorable little coffee cups, I really want one of my own!! Their coffee was good too. They left a full pot at our table which was fabulous because I can drink a LOT of coffee. Today (08/31/18) I ordered the eggs Benedict...never again they were made totally different from last time. I asked the manager why. Even the ham has changed. I noticed there wasn't any lemon in the hollandaise sauce she informed me they never add it at Le Peep. Whoever made it in the past had lemon in the sauce. I'll pay the $11.50 for this crap! I'll be sure to tell my run/walk community/friends to avoid this place. We exercise at Arbor Hills then come here - NEVER AGAIN!! Le Peep charged .99 for onions or bell peppers or jalapeños or salsa EACH if you want it on an omelette. Disgraceful!! NOTE TO LE PEEP: STO BEING CHEAP I was the first customer here, two gentlemen came in after me. I'm trying to say there was no need to rush the potatoes, hash browns should be brown. This place is so charming! Not only was the food amazing, the service was even better. Monica was the best! If you like a bit of savory and sweet, I highly recommend the Lumberjack meal. I really enjoyed my time having brunch here and it was mostly due to Kayla (sp). She's really great at her job. She really was a joy and did a great job on her timing of checking on us. The salmon was great and I liked the cucumbers that came with it. My only complaint is that they need a better toaster and if the tomatoes are ashy and milley, don't serve them. Oh, dice the onions and you need capers but it was good just need a bit of work. Avocado toast was good but the hard boiled eggs with gray, was pretty unappetizing. Great breakfast place! The Girlfriend and I eat here on Saturday and/or Sundays quite often. The food is always excellent and the service is superb. They have great coffee and have some flavored coffees as well. I have yet to order something I didn't love, whether it was the Lumberjack (French toast and eggs), the 18-Wheeler (pancakes and eggs) or the Omni omelette (which has a better description on the new menu). The Girlfriend tends to order the lighter fare and always seems to bring half of it home - no small feat as she's 5'10" and isn't afraid to eat! Some advice: arrive early as the place is fairly wide open and can get a little loud, especially in the back room. Of course we seemed to have a few visits in a row where we were simply near loud people - nothing that the restaurant caused. Come get some great coffee and breakfast! read more
