I was in town for work and came in for take-out. Need something quick so I ordered their bacon breakfast burrito and an iced tea. The wait was minimal, even though they were busy. The burrito was cut in half (love it) and hot. It came with a side of hash browns, which had some crunchiness and some softness. It wasn't bad but needed salt... badly. This place is set in a very gorgeous place, the inside of the restaurant is very elegant, very neat and we organized with great views and great atmosphere. Staff here are very friendly and very welcoming. We were greeted promptly by junior who brought us coffee and water. We both ordered the Southwest Skillet for $14.29, with Smoked brisket, sliced avocado, onions, jalapenos topped with our salsa, and three pancakes, two cups of Segafredo Coffee for 4.95 each which was excellent. No sooner did I eat my food when my stomach started feeling funny and my friend felt the same way. We both felt sick. Now please, I am not blaming staff or anyone in this restaurant. What a lovely place to enjoy your breakfast without a bustling audience. It's calm, clean and soothing place. Not too many servers but who ever is attending you gives you quick and perfect service. I tried their wild mushroom omelet, ph it melted in my mouth and I finished it in seconds.. it was that good. Pancakes are the softest, yet fresh even though I took it as to go. Overall it was a good experience! The interiors are always clean and pristine. Service: When I am served my coffee, I am usually asked if I am ready to order. Rather than ask, my waiter immediately left the dining area. I assume he had dishes which were waiting to be served at his other tables. Food: When I ate at the other location, I was deciding between the Denver and Sausage & Cheese omelets. They had some pretty good oatmeal along with breakfast burritos and pretty decent coffee as well. I got the hues rancheros and my partner got the steel cut oats. We were attending the Hebron Band Marchathon which was going to finish their route through Castle Hills at the Village's Shops and Plaza in that subdivision. We decided to catch breakfast before the band hit the square and selected this place based on the Yelp reviews. It serves breakfast and lunch, and had a good looking menu. The place sits on the corner and is bright and nicely laid out with good views of the shopping area. I opted for one of the skillets - the Whole Hog skillet - with bacon, ham and sausage layered over hash browns and cheeses, and covered with eggs any way you want. I had them scrambled and doused them with a fair bit of Tabasco sauce. You also get biscuits, toast or pancakes with it as well. I went for the biscuits and added a side of gravy, which was a generous serving! I had enough to cover the biscuits and pour some over the skillet as well. The biscuits were great, the skillet smothered with gravy was really good, something I'll definitely get again. The food and atmosphere was a great combination, and it's location in the Village's was really convenient. Castle Hills is a neat subdivision with funky medieval street names like Holy Grail, Merlin, Damsel Caroline, and Lady Lore ands it's common to see people tooling around in golf carts. What a convenience it must be to have a good place like this close by. Next time, we'll try it for lunch. read more

So I finally got around to visiting Hills Cafe in the village shops within the Castle Hill community. Very clean and spacious enough area to relax and enjoy breakfast or lunch. Eating outside is also available for those who wish to enjoy the Texas sun. Excellent service from server with a cheerful countenance. Coffee was nice and hot and never reached empty. I started with the cheese grits. Very nice with the butter and cheese. A spot of salt and pepper bumpsd it up a notch. The hash browns were great. They were great by themselves without added seasoning but I added ketchup because....well it's hash browns! And some hot sauce cuz I just like hot sauce. The BAT benedict was... Excellent! A great combination with the avocado, tomato and bacon but the hollandaise sauce just pulled it all together into a yummy dump in my mouth symphony. A spot of ground pepper added a nice touch. The price was reasonable. I should have checked this place out sooner. Check this place out! So gf wanted to really check this place out, but I definetly have a soft spot for Cafe Mila right in front of our apartment complex. This place is nicely decorated, looks nice and clean. Staff is polite and kind. It's a well done breakfast place that is open earlier than normal. The coffee (Mocha) was pretty good. I enjoyed it, and the decoration is really nice. They have the right people working the coffee bar, and it's pretty solid. We had breakfast, which is a solid. I had the whole hog skillet. I probably should have had a side of salsa with it, but overall it's a good hash. It's not amazing, but it's better than the normal. My favorite hash was from hash house, but that place is closed. Sigh** The hash browns are pretty good. A good balance between crispy and soft. The meat was great. I'm not vegan, so I'm a fan of that one. GF had a denver omlette. Again, it was good. Biscuits taste like the can biscuits, but again. It's good, not amazing, not bad. It's a good choice for breakfast if you are not a great cook at home. Try it out. The waiter was right there taking our drink order and then food order. Food came out pretty quickly. My friend had asked for scrambled eggs and fried were on her plate she mentioned it and quickly they brought out a plate with a big pile of screwed eggs. My only complaint is the place was very loud, my friend wears hearing aides and had a difficult time hearing me over all the noise. I understand there is a glassed in area that would have been quieter but we didn't know about that till afterwards. I got a skillet it was smaller than I expected and had very few hashbrowns on the bottom also could have used more seasoning. The meal came with 3 beautiful fluffy pancakes that were delicous. The food and drinks here were a huge disappointment. This is the 2nd time we've been here (after about a year, which was a good experience), but probably the last. My classic American Breakfast was good (2 eggs, meat, and 2 sides, you know the standard fare), a bit pricey at $12.49. My wife's hash was a complete disappointment, as the hash was clearly a canned hash that just got warmed up and was presented as such. The drink prices are insane: $6.49 for a chai tea latte that was in an average coffee cup (which was also a dirty chai, which I didn't request, and asked the server about. She said she would ask but never followed up. On the check it was just chai tea latte). $2.50 for a kids cup of milk. That's just insane gouging. read more
