The staff were very friendly and helpful with answering all our questions. Atmosphere is cool, welcoming, and very modern appearing. The decorations, table top, floor, and bathroom was also clean and taken care of. The food itself was fantastic and we loved the special menu. The lemon blueberry pancakes was such a light, decadent treat. The only only downside I can say were the biscuit sausage gravy dish, I felt like it wasn't as savory as I could've wanted out of it. The place is really cute inside, but unfortunately the space is way too small for the amount of people they seat, especially around the bar. It's so tight that you have to be careful when pulling your chair out, and servers passing by can easily bump into you or spill something. The menu could use some rearranging as well, since the sides are listed on the back with the lunch menu. I ordered the traditional breakfast with toast and pancakes. The eggs were good, but the toast didn't come with butter, and the pancakes were HUGE! The $13 price point is actually pretty good, but the food was slightly below average in flavor. Ambiance: nice clean inviting upon entering. The temperature was a little too chilly for my liking. The owner? Hostess? did offer to turn the fan off after I asked to sit outside (there was a private party, so we had to sit inside) when she saw me putting on my sweater, it helped but it was still cold. Food: it was a bit of a wait for my order to come out. The pancake was served hot and was the size of the plate. I ordered the traditional egg breakfast (comes with 2 eggs and 2 sides) I ordered grits and a pancake. Con: grits were not cooked fully, very grainy and not enjoyable. Turkey bacon is cooked partially I asked for it to be crispy, it was given barely cooked. They did rectify it and took it back to fix. The downside to that was they took my entire plate back including the pancake. When they finally brought my bacon back they neglected to return my pancake. I had to ask for it back. My eggs, were not hot at this point, I asked for scrambled medium and they were not. Both items were flavorless. Decided to go here for brunch. We were seated immediately. Amaya was our server, she was very kind and had a great personality. I decided to try the bluebonnet waffle and share the seasonal item on the menu called chorizo tacos. Unfortunately I wasn't a fan of neither. The waffles were too soggy if they were more crisp it would have been better. It just made it hard to eat. And the chorizo tacos had no flavor which I was shocked. Even topped with pico, cheese and eggs. It was very bland for me. The whole dish fell flat even the potatoes and grits on the side didn't help. This is my second visit and honestly I don't recall much about my first visit but this visit had me appreciating that I came back. Bre was our server and kudos to her and she was informative and also very nice. My SIL ordered the Carmel apple mimosa and I told Bre I would wait to taste to see how it was as I didn't want to be stuck with a drink I didn't like. She assured me I wouldn't be stuck but one sip and I was like "sign me up for one of them" - my sister in law loved her biscuit as she said it was so soft it melted in her mouth. Our server was Bri and she was excellent. She was the cherry on top of a great experience. The restaurant is bright and beautifully decorated. We had the caramel mimosa. It was so good. Oftentimes there is too much champagne and not enough "sweet" to the mimosa. This one was tasty and literally good to the last drop. My order was the Cowboy skillet. It's literally a hash brown scramble. Warning: the red onions are not sautéed. I would have taken it with no onions, if I'd known better. My friend had a light fluffy pancake. One pancake is big enough to share. It was great food in a great surrounding with a great server. When I visit Dallas again, it will be on my TODO list for sure! Oh yes, I had a biscuit. Easter brunch was GREAT! A definite 10/10...our waitress Amiyah was great, she was super sweet and patient with our huge family, a party of about 20+. We sat at the bar to avoid a 30 min wait, which was fine since it was a Sunday we didn't expect any different. I dont sit at bars much but I did feel like the service was not so great, now I don't want to be that person- but I did notice toward the end when it wasn't as busy it was better so I get that service is going to be different during peak time. Finally got a chance to try out this spot for brunch. Upon entering, we were seated quickly in a booth. The place was packed with people and the ambiance was nice and relatively quiet. Our server Katrina was super sweet and helpful when deciding what the choose for our meal. I ordered the chicken diablo sandwich with hashbrowns and cheese. The sandwich was much hotter than I was expecting but it was great! The hashbrowns were okay but that might have been because they were insanely covered in cheese. The chicken and waffles were also very good and were a nice portion size as well. I also ordered the drip coffee with caramel which to me was not that great. The skillet was huge and it came with two sides. You definitely get your money's worth. My skillet was really good my only complaint is that it could use more cheese. One of my sides was a pancake, it was also huge and fluffy. It was cooked to perfection. I also got a "premium" side of fruit. I was a little disappointed because it had hair it. My waitress took it back but it looked like she just took out the fruit that was touched by the hair, it did not look like fresh bowl. I stumbled upon this brunch spot on Yelp and decided to take a detour. The restaurant was moderately busy, with many tables unoccupied. When I opted to sit at the bar, I was not given a menu, as some other places did. Surprisingly, the bar was ill-prepared for diners. Only half the seats had utensils and menus. Despite being away from his station, the barista quickly acknowledged me and took my coffee order. I chose the Bluebonnet French toast. When the barista mentioned the abundance of toppings, I initially thought I had made the right decision by not ordering any sides. However, upon first glance, the Bluebonnet French toast was a disappointment. For a dish named Bluebonnet, I expected more blueberries, at least a dozen. I am glad not to have poured any syrup. The blueberry glaze barely had any blueberry flavor. The toast was moderately sized, both in surface area and thickness. In hindsight, I should have ordered a side. Due to the ongoing bird flu epidemic, the restaurant has a surcharge on egg dishes. There was signage on the door and the bar. You'd think for $15 there would be some effort put in or some sides, but it was literally just 2 sad pieces of pre frozen grocery store French toast :( Maybe they need to be served with a good helping of butter to offset the dryness? I live super close to here so I saw when they first opened and it was so hard to get seated to eat because of the long lines. I don't know what happened but I feel like the capacity of the place now speaks for itself. I would say overall this place was okay. My friend and I got the breakfast burrito and chicken fried steak while we got an avocado toast to share as well. The burrito was very mid. It lacked flavor and I felt like they could've seasoned it a little better or had some sort of sauce on the side to elevate the burrito. The salsa I got just tasted like Tostitos salsa so the burrito was just okay for me. I tried some of the chicken fried steak and overall it was good but the gravy tasted a little bland. Like I got a very very slight hint of gravy taste and felt like it didn't pack that punch that usual gravy has. The avocado toast was okay as well because the toast was a good size but it wasn't toasted as much as I would've liked. The bread was flimsy although it was pretty thick and the avocado on top was just a super thing layer. I get that most places have avocado toast for an expensive price but I felt like they could've added a little more avocado on the slices. The flavor and toppings on these were good though. Service was great and the server we had was amazing. Just wish the food was better. It was very underwhelming in my opinion. Wow I must say I was surprised by our experience after seeing all the great reviews - perhaps a one off. That said, was looking for a new brunch place saw this after going to SMG. Tried it the next day. I ordered the classic benedict (poached hard), fruit and grits. My order came out with boiled eggs, toast and fruit about 1/2 correct. Wasn't offered butter or jelly, (we sat at the bar - and none was there) and had to ask for a knife and fork. Boyfriend order scrambled eggs, bacon, Bisquit and grits. Eggs way overcooked, bacon was good, grits were so hard (clearly had been standing for a while) and again no butter or jelly offered for his biscuits and he too had to ask for a set up. In a competitive market, attention to detail is important. Owners were on site but never came up to us - despite telling the bartender it was our first time. read more
