I decided to take my mother here for Mother's Day due to the reviews and we will not be coming back. LOVED everything about Eggsellent Cafe! 5 stars because of a great brunch meal and wonderful service!! Our waitress, Lexi, was so sweet and we connected with her instantly cause we're from SoCal! My favorite dishes were the berry french toast and the skillet that we had. By far one of the best french toasts I've ever had and the marscapone that topped the dish was amazing. This review reflects a drop from a four to four and a half star opinion based on today's experience. My partner and I have frequented this place in the past, often getting lunch. The food is usually great (especially the club and Turkey avocado wrap) but today was an exception. I'm not sure if it was because it was near closing or issues in the kitchen but it took quite a while for our order to be fulfilled and the quality of the food was lacking compared to the usual fare. The sausage seemed a bit tough and on the cold side along with my burger being a bit bland and cooked more to well than medium. We were in a bit of a time crunch by the time we got the check when initially we had come with plenty of time ahead of us. The staff at the register is always super pleasant, though. Very nice for breakfast or lunch. There are TV's which are important if you're trying to watch sports while eating on a Saturday or Sunday. I ordered the steak and eggs skillet with pancakes. I like that the strips of steak are sitting on a bed of spinach sprinkled with feta and hash browns. If you don't like the taste of feta, exclude that but if you do like feta, I especially recommend this dish. It adds a little saltiness and a creaminess to spinach. I added sautéed mushrooms to mine. I think it made the dish better. My steak was perfectly cooked. I like mine medium well. The steak is like reaching into your purse to find your favorite bottle of hot sauce good. The only thing I didn't like from this place was the pancakes. If you like fluffy pancakes with body, you won't the pancakes here. The service was excellent! read more

Was looking for a breakfast find in Carrolton and stumbled upon this place on Yelp. Was afraid there'd be long wait times because of high reviews and we arrived after 10am on a Sunday. Place was busy but we were seated promptly and was attended to by our waiter right away. The service was great for a busy diner. Having eaten out for every meal over the weekend, this by far trumped the service of higher class establishments we visited. Servers were nice, prompt and anticipated needs (like we didn't have to ask for A1 sauce, salsa nor syrup) and servers for other tables would even check on us if we made eye contact. Food was absolutely awesome. Loved the style of hash browns. I got the bacado omelette and with added salsa was absolute perfection. My wife went for the steak and eggs and loved the flavor and juiciness of the steak. This was a pleasant surprise for us and the service and food for that matter impressed us more than all of our planned stops. I'm looking forward to making an excuse to go out to Carrolton more often to patron here on the regular. read more

When they opened I made the suggestion the pancakes needed to be larger. They were very small. I got a very nice thank you and was told they would increase the size. My #1 issue I have with this place - TO LOUD. If you put some kind of sound barrier above in the ceiling, it will make a huge difference. I could not hear the conversations I had with my friends. This is my second time trying this place out. I have been here twice. When you had opened came with my husband & then today my friend picked the place. She had a coupon 20% off the meal. We all agreed never again. I had the gravy omelet along with coffee & lots of water. Food came out of the kitchen in a timely manner. My one friend had a plain waffle & soda to drink. My other friend ordered off the lunch menu. She ate the fresh fruit & took the entire sandwich home. No condiments were added as you had to ask for that. I feel that was the job of our server. I've gone to many places for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Although this isn't the fanciest of places, but it's one of the best! For starters, the price point and portion sizes are "eggsellent"! They have an extensive menu, so there is something for everyone. The service is wonderful! You have a dedicated waitress, but they all help each other out. Needless to say, your coffee will always stay full and hot per your liking! There is always someone coming by to check on your well being! I always get my usual Chicken Fried Chicken! The chicken is tender, juicy and not over fried or cooked. It's topped with a white creamy gravy that is just enough so your chicken isn't smothered. Their French Toast and pancakes are light and fluffy. Bonus, they have their own signature hot sauce. This place is family friendly and the owner is the nicest person!
