I have used EH for many years on a weekly basis. The needs of my large household changes over time from only a few residents to many, and back again, and my cleaners adapt well. Over years I have only had a few different teams, and they are all pleasant and trustworthy. My schedule is always honored even if the cleaners do change. I truly appreciate not having to manage that process. If I have specific requests or schedule changes I can easily arrange those, by email, and they are usually honored without issue. If you are looking for a professionally run cleaning service EH fits the bill. My only complaint would be that a lot of lights are left on afterwards, but if that is the worst issue, I am happy. read more

I didn't take very good care of my place last year, so I needed big-time help. I went to Angie's List to look up household cleaners and found that EH Clean had the most reviews of anyone, and they were all very good. So I called the number, left a message, and the owner, Jana, called me back. She came out to my place, looked around to get an idea of the nature and estimated length of the cleaning project, and showed me a number of documents relating to her business, including a list of at least a dozen references. One of the things I needed was clutter removal and organization of "stuff," so Jana sent me her supervisor, Alexa, and Alexa came over the day before the cleaners did, working really hard for several hours to unclutter the various flat surfaces in my place so the cleaners would be able to work freely. On the big day, a team of two cleaners (with Alexa) arrived and immediately began to work. They worked for over six hours before they had to leave for another job, at which time a second team of two appeared to finish the work. What blew me away, though, was the fact that the ladies doing the cleaning never stopped working the entire time, and one was singing happily almost the whole time while revamping my kitchen. I'd asked for the Deep Clean, but the teams went way beyond what I would call normal cleaning. They took everything out of my cupboards, cleaned the cupboards, reorganized the items, and made my place feel and look totally different. Gone was the clutter, gone was the cramped feeling, and all the dust and dirt was removed, and my place suddenly had a really nice, sparkling look and a more spacious feel. I invited my mother over to take a look, and she is not someone to be impressed easily because her own home is spic and span. She and I have had bad experiences with cleaning companies before, so neither of us was thinking this one would be much different. Let's just say that my mom was so blown away that she has decided to employ EH Clean for monthly cleaning. The pricing is very reasonable, and I paid $25 an hour. The total amount came to quite a bit, but that has everything to do with the condition of my place before the cleaners arrived (!) and nothing to do with EH Clean. Add I intend to have my place cleaned once or twice a month this year, and I recommend EH Clean to you as highly as I possibly can. Very nice, sweet cleaning ladies who did a good job. If your work is straight forward, they should do fine, but if you need to talk with them about anything that may come up on the job, communication is very difficult unless you can speak Spanish or are good at communicating with VERY simple vocabulary and some body language. I don't view that as a negative, just something good to be aware of ahead of time. And I have no reason to doubt that the ladies would be more than happy to cater to whatever it is you'd like. We recently used EH Clean's service to deep clean our house while we were on vacation. Jana was very professional. Her company is fully insured, licensed and bonded. When we returned home from our trip, we were amazed how clean the house was! They did not miss a thing. They cleaned things I didn't expect them to. I want to say that I've been using Yelp for many years, and I've never written a review. But I felt compelled to write one for EH Clean. What can be say about EH Clean that has not been said? Professional? Check. Amazing attention to detail? Check. Very timely responses? Check. Our 1st cleaning was a deep cleaning, and they did a very good job. But there were some miscommunication and a few things were left out. I emailed Jana and heard back from her within minutes. 2 days later she came out and was cleaning the house herself! When you're running a business and you have employees, miscommunication happens sometimes. I was VERY impressed with the way Jana handled the situation. She was very professional about it. The team at EH Clean are a very well trained and professional group of people who come at the same time of day and month as scheduled. They do an amazing job of cleaning and also clean where others typically do not (window sills, blinds, behind the stereo components!). The fee is very fair as there are typically 3 people that come and clean, so my house takes just a couple of hours. Very clean and efficient operation. Yana is very organized and hands on leader. EH Clean recently completed a deep clean of our 2nd home. The house is super clean! It is really difficult to find a cleaning service that really understands how to fully clean your house, we've used at least 5 other cleaners, and none of them clean the house to the same level. They know how to treat different surfaces the right way, from stainless steel appliances, to glass shower doors, to enamel sinks, to tricky wood floors. Each one she uses different cleaning supplies for, and they always look in great shape. One thing that I thought was cool was that the owner, Jana, asks you if there are any focus areas for the cleaning (we usually say bathrooms and kitchen), or any things that frustrate you when they get messy. One of my pet peeves is when the pots / pans / etc get mixed up or jumbled around in the cabinets. Now, every time after they clean, everything is organized and stacked up neatly. Jana has a good presentation and is capable of doing a really good job cleaning your house. However, after the initial good work, the service quality seems to diminish over time. We fired her crew the day we came home early when they were supposed to be cleaning. We found the crew watching our television and eating while sitting on our couch. They were apparently taking their lunch break on our time. We also found that they were using our washer, dryer, water and power to wash the previously soiled EH Clean company cleaning rags, towels and mop heads they had used to clean other houses. When we ask Jana about this, she did not think it was any reason for concern and could not understand our outrage at her using our washer and dryer to clean other peoples filth out of her companies rags and mop heads. She said that there was not time to bring the soiled supplies back to the office for cleaning during the day, so they regularly use their customers washers and dryers to clean their supplies between jobs. To her, it was no big deal. Free water, power and equipment to run her company. No big deal. I explained that I really did not want my children resting their heads on a pillow case, cleaned in a now public washing machine which has now been used to clean other peoples floors and toilets, all within my washer and dryer. All without notice or consent. All while she is billing us at a premium for this service. Again, she did not see any problem and thought we were unreasonable. EH Clean used to be named European House Cleaning. When we hired her, Jana represents her company as a "European Cleaning" service, with attention to detail. I imagine Jana changed the name, since in reality, she is the only European we ever met working for this company. Everyone else speaks Spanish. No problem with that, other than the obvious misrepresentation of who is going to be cleaning your house. Jana shows up looking well manicured and clean and giving you the impression that she is going to be doing and supervising the cleaning. Then the actual workers frequently show up tired, sweaty, dirty and smelling bad. Nothing wrong with than, hard work causes sweat. But that does not mean that I want their grimy arse on my couch, watching my TV and soiling my furniture while the meter is running. At least they did not steal anything other than power, water and the unauthorized use and soiling of our Maytags. A maid service is an easy way to get ripped off. I would use EH Clean ONLY if someone is home full time during the cleaning day. They are capable of doing good work. However if you are not home to watch them, good luck. read more

I am a full time commuting mother of 2 young boys... I called EH clean on a whim knowing I needed my house cleaned for thanksgiving and knowing once I got home if never get around to finding someone with availability. On my way home I saw a car with a logo on it and called... Jana answered directly and was able to meet me at my house with in 15 minutes. She looked my house over and was able to book me a slot... She was able to work with me on my needs vs wants and was professional, flexible, efficient and reachable through my busy hectic schedule. I had a "deep cleaning" done and the plan was to follow up with bi-weekly maintenance cleanings. For the deep cleaning, I was told that I would get a team of, I believe, four cleaners at my house and I was given there hourly rate. I did the math and determined that based on the hourly rate the cleaners would be at my house for three hours. To make a long story short, the four cleaners left about 45 minutes early and one of the cleaners spent the entire time folding rags in the work vehicle. I communicated to Jana that I felt like I had not gotten what I paid for. She agreed that she would discount my next cleaning to make up for the time that the cleaners left early. The cleaners came back a second time and there were only three cleaners that day and they left early again. I contacted Jana and she told me that I was paying by the job, not by the number of hours spent cleaning. This explanation was self-serving, disingenuous, and at odds with the price list on the EH Clean website. read more

Clearly Jana (the owner) is content with the clients she has and has no need for more or doesn't care about word of mouth! So sad that such AMAZING cleaners have to work for this unprofessional individual. If I was rating cleaners I would give 4 stars but I'm rating the business... Rather then write a review I will just post my last email to Jana: "Here's the thing: Although your teams are very skilled in what they do, the inconsistency is with the management - namely you. As new clients we hope to receive good service as well as good communication. In your line of work I'm sure you realize that a large portion of your clientele make up working people who, in their busy schedules, require some assistance in maintaining their home clean. When we first came to you, by referral, we asked for a time and day for a team to come out and clean our house. You could not accommodate that time/day so we adjusted to you. From the word go we asked that when a team is sent to clean our house to please make sure it will be the same team that we can later continue with. As it turns out that not only is the day we picked (Friday) not available, the team we picked (Team3) is also not available. Not only is the Team not available that day, they're not available at all. Why, then, did they even come out here? Not only that, but both times that your team came out here they were late! Even considering that for our last appointment you gave us a time-frame of 4-4:45, the team came to our house at 5:20PM. As mush as I understand that there's traffic and it's a Friday night, when you give a 45 minute window, I expect that it is enough time to make it into that window. AND if your team was late, it would be have been appreciated if someone had called and let us know what the situation is. I had to call myself and couldn't even get a hold of you. Not to even mention that, having arrived late, they proceeded to rush through the cleaning! Now, when we are ready to set up a time/day you tell us that Fridays are all booked and that you have a time slot Tuesday either 2:30ish or 4:30ish (as seen in your email below). Ok, we accommodate your time again and I responded right back by selecting Tuesdays at 2:30. I let you know that by email (seen below as well) and you come right back saying TUESDAYS AT 2:30 ARE NOT AVAILABLE and that we have to go with 1:30ish! Why then are you even offering the time slot???? I'm sure you realize that as working individuals, we literally have to rearrange our work day to even meet your team at our house in the middle of the day on a weekday! It is unfortunate that a cleaning service that came to us by referral has good cleaning teams and poor management. As someone who works in a customer service related field, I feel that the customer service provided by you is below adequate." I wish I could also post the pathetic response she sent me. Do NOT hire for deep cleaning--we were not pleased with their work! We hired EH Clean to clean after we moved out of our apartment. They did not lift up the stove top and clean it out the properly. They also did not clean the track in the shower door--even though I specifically told Jana this would need to be done thoroughly. We had to have them come back twice to get everything done properly. It was a real hassle because we had already moved out of the place and had to return to let me back in each time. I decided it was about time to write a new review for EH Clean because after over three years as a regular customer, I still find them to be consistently BETTER than I could possibly imagine. If I was willing to spend an unlimited amount on cleaning, I still couldn't find a company that does a better job than EH Clean. Jana, the owner, cares so much about the quality of work and customer satisfaction that she recently went back to managing everything by herself again just to make sure it gets done right and her customers are happy (I noticed there were a few bad reviews sprinkled among all of the 5-star reviews on yelp, and I think that is why she went back to managing things herself). She really understands what it takes to make a house spotless - all of the details that we forget about and often leave uncleaned for years are part of her team's regular cleaning routine. I've tried several house cleaning services in the past, and I was always left with the feeling that I could have done just as good a job myself. EH Clean is different - I actually feel a little bit helpless now that I've experienced how clean EH Clean can make my house because I have NO IDEA how to make it that clean myself - and it is my new standard of clean! I feel like I need to call them before every party or special event I'm going to have, because that's the only way I can feel confident that no matter where people look everything will be pristine like a model home. Here are just a few examples of the small details that they pay attention to: they get all of the grease stains off of my stove top every time - the stains I can't get off no matter how hard I try, they clean the dust and grit off the shelves of our medicine cabinets, they clean and organize the refrigerator and under our sink! The list could go on and on, but hopefully that gives you an idea of why I've relied on them so heavily for the past three years and why they have become sooo important to me. Their rates are extremely fair - comparable in price to all the other services I've tried and a MUCH better value for the quality of work they do - Jana should seriously write a book about cleaning because I would buy it! I recommend EH Clean to all of my friends, so all of my friends use them too. I am consistently THRILLED every time they clean. Jana has a nice presentation but NOT the best follow through or show of professionalism. After a visit a visit in my home we discussed a weekly price for cleaning my home that we both thought was fair. I told her I wanted to start right away and she responded by telling me she would get back to me within a day with available times and we would schedule the first cleaning visit the following week. I didn't not hear back from her for a couple of days which prompted me to email and call her because I wanted to give my current cleaning crew the courtesey of several days notice. She replied that she needed more time to pull a weekly crew together and she would be in touch in a couple days. Not only was it more than a couple days but she increased the rate we agreed on by $25 a week. My feeling is if you arn't sure of a price quote, get back to the customer, don't give them one and then change it later, nobody likes that! The whole experience left a really bad taste in my mouth, and what a waste of time. The whole time I was waiting for her to "pull a crew together", I could have been interviewing some of my other options. My husband and I run a business of our own and not only do we stick to our estimates/bids, we don't leave our potential customers waiting for responses. read more

Very thorough and adaptable to my schedule .Anything that was missed on the first visit was caught on the second ie dusting etc .When you first meet Jana you think that she is the boss who will assign others and be gone til next time . No ,she brought her girls, instructed them as to what she wanted , and then rolled up her shelves and begin to work side by side with them as she kept a watchful eye on them and their work . They come in and do a spectacular job leaving me with the feeling of one less thing I need to do and how I can enjoy my home and weekend time. I have had many housecleaning services since I've moved many times. When I moved to the East Bay, I hired (and fired) two different cleaning services before I found EH Clean. EH Clean is a superlative and professional housecleaning service. What makes EH Clean different from everyone else is the attention to detail AND the consistent focus on quality AND most of all, Jana. EH Clean is run by Jana, who personally oversees everything and everyone. She came to my home and met with me to find out the particular details that I need. The first time a cleaning team comes, either she or her assistant, Maudaly, comes to oversee the cleaning team. Examples of the excellence she demands and expects: 1) the cleaning team follow a typed step-by-step guide, which includes instructions such as being sure to take the trash cans out of the cabinet to wipe underneath them, the order in which to apply different products to clean a shower, etc (I scanned through the sheets and realized why my house never looks that clean when I try to do it...) 2) Jana walked over to a pail of dirty soapy water and stuck a finger in it and then instructed the team that they should have been using hotter water, 3) Jana inspected the house and noted stains that I never noticed. The team stayed 45 minutes longer than usual to clean everything to her specifications. 4) Once, my team got caught up at another house and I came home to find Jana personally cleaning my home in order to make sure that my house was cleaned on time. Then she actually polished the paper towel dispenser, all the while pointing out to the team the details that she expected to be done each time. What impresses me especially about EH Clean is their responsiveness and outstanding communication. While other cleaning services may also have attention to detail (albeit I can't imagine one that is as detailed as EH Clean), what distinguishes a stellar company is how they handle complaints. Once, a different team came to my house and missed a few small details (and truly, they were minor details). I emailed Jana. The next business day, I received a phone call to find out what was missed. I had an especially busy work week and was not able to return the call. So then I received an email from Jana apologizing for missing details and asking for specifics so they could be fixed. The next cleaning day, Maudaly herself was cleaning alongside the team. When I said to her that I didn't mean to make a big deal of such little details, Maudaly said to me with genuine warmth, that it was important to them to make sure to keep up the quality. NO, NO, NO. After reading your reviews I will concur that Jana has a great sales pitch that you will receive a wonderful experience with her crew. Totally the opposite! After meeting with her and being SOLD on deep cleaning @ $70 per hr for 2 people. She said it would take between 4-6 hrs. Gave me an itemized list of products to purchase (another $120.) and said she could have a crew in tomorrow. Since we had a renter who had just moved out and we were moving back in, I was very pleased. I told her if possible I would like to keep the price to $300. since the house is only 1700 sq. ft. Next morning truck arrives with 2 cleaners, neither speak English but the manager that drops them off gives instructions and leaves. 4 hours later the 2 girls are still upstairs cleaning 3bd 2b? I called Jana who said she figured that 4 hrs would not be enough time and would drop off another girl to start on the kitchen and for $350 would I let them finish. I said OK. At this point what option do I have? At one point I walked into the kitchen to find a person who had no idea how to clean. Walked upstairs to find a person on her phone while she was slowly dusting the dresser. There was ONE girl out of the bunch who was really working hard. I sent a picture of the cloth I used to clean the baseboards upstairs, no ceiling fans were touched, none of the 4 mirrored closet doors, and the bathroom door had to be scrubbed. I also sent a pic of the spotty grout cleaning on the kitchen floor to Jana. When the manager got back to pick them they flew through the downstairs after the horrible grout cleaning that I wanted in th first place and left. Haven't heard a word from Jana but she has my money on top of tipping the girls $60. Stupid me! read more

We were told the house cleaners would arrive between 10:30a.m. 11:30a.m. The house cleaners still had not arrived at my home by 12:30p.m. I called the office to ask them if the cleaners were going to show up today. The office manager told me that the cleaners are leaving a house in Danville (which no more than 15-25 minutes away) and would be at my home. After another 35 minutes I gave up. We recently relocated to Danville from San Jose. I have had cleaning services clean my home my entire adult life. Needless to say I have worked with a lot of companies. I had EH Clean out for our initial move in cleaning and 2 weekly cleanings since. My team, Naomi and Ruth, have been stellar. My house has never been cleaner. We have 2 large shedding dogs and a cat which means my house gets dirty quickly. I have been so impressed that every week after they clean I write to Jana (owner) and rave.
