A tail wrap for today's prices of 50-60 bucks (depending on the size) would seem fair and you just expect it to be water tight and go surf, but when you pay a premium price of 85.00$ I would have expected a little more artisan craftsmanship. They didn't even come close to matching the resin opaque. I know he makes quality boards and top notch repair, but it seems someone took a shortcut this time around.

Malibu Kayaks are right off the PCH, almost next door to the more popular Sunset Kayak rentals. I think the prices are comparable. It's cheaper than kayaking in Long Beach. For 2 hrs, it's $10/person. That's cheap! But get this, if you've kayaked in Long Beach, you will most definitely notice that the water in Huntington Harbor is pretty nasty. It's brown, with lots of residue/algae in the water!! The houses are lovely---just like the Naples homes in LB---but the water is pretty gross. I kept getting water in my face because my rowing technique is pretty bad. That, and my partner and I were not coordinated in our rowing pattern. That being said, this place is pretty cheap, so if you've never kayaked, then check it out. They use colorful plastic kayaks with the seated black cusions, with even a back support! The Huntington Harbor is much larger than the other harbors, so you may need a map which they offer to you before you go kayaking. The reason why I"m only giving it 3 stars is because the water is really gross. See for yourself! But other than that, Malibu Kayaks is definitely a steal and my overall experience kayaking in the pouring rain was pretty fun!

After coming here for so long, I legit just discovered that upstairs houses their "gently used" section, for those looking for an even more affordable option. The prices here for snow jackets/gear (have pants too) are definitely cheaper than other name brand outdoor places and good quality (150-200), even cheaper than some outlets (but im not too well versed in brand comparisons so dont quote me if you are seasoned). I I think accessories might be cheaper at outlets?, but its more convenient to get everything in one place. They have toe warmers and google covers. They even have the board conditions for different mountains written on a white board as if you were up there in a resort. It would be great if they had a diagram for beginners of what clothing items/essentials to get including accessories and thermal layers as the store overall is very approachable to a southern californian newbie. The only thing is that it is a bit hole in the wall, parking is a bit confusing as you do look like you're pulling up to an inn.
