I do understand that we are to tip hairdressers, food servers n more but now we are adding in home service people. Should we tip mailman or UPS deliveries every time packages/mail get delivered? Im sure they would like that too. With service people who fumigate or landscape a sizable property, do we follow their behinds n see if they do their job as per our request in order to gratify them with a commensurate tip? Ridiculous! So he had me sign (scribble) on his phone to acknowledge his presence n then the phone text came to rate him n an option to tip his good work. So how will we know if he did his job after he got my signature or did his job per our contract? If we don't tip, will he know n come back next month and not do his job as well as he should? Yes...trust is indeed the word. This sort of tipping seems to want to become the norm as we start to oblige companies to do this. The contract is initially for a year, and there's some sloppy language about auto renewals after 1 year. But in Illinois, written auto renewal notices are required to be provided to consumers prior to renewal. I didn't receive this, but I did email them 90 days before my renewal service to cancel because I had lost my job and couldn't afford it. They wanted to speak on the phone (canned text). Now it's June and the renewal service was still scheduled. I had NUMEROUS contacts over text and email reminding them of my notice of cancellation. They sent me SEVERAL emails and texts saying that we needed to speak on the phone. Nowhere in the contract does it say a phone call is mandatory to cancel. I kept telling them it had nothing to do with the service, and that I had lost my job. "We do need to speak to you." I finally, FINALLY got a notice of closure after 24 hours of unnecessary back and forth. I would not have written a review about my experience with EcoShield. I never had any issues, but I also didn't have a bug problem - I hired them for prevention.
