Over two visits, I tried three appetizers and three entrees, and the experience was uneven at best. Two of the entrees arrived lukewarm, which immediately set the tone. The Mongolian beef was especially disappointing--nothing like the rich, peppery version I was expecting. Instead, it was bland, with medium-rare beef that was surprisingly chewy. The sesame chicken was similarly underwhelming. It's advertised as white meat, but several pieces were clearly dark meat. The beef with Brussells sprouts was inedible--burnt, dry, and missing the sauce described on the menu. It also felt rushed, especially since they initially brought out two incorrect dishes and this seemed to be a quick replacement. Service timing was another issue. Two appetizers arrived well after some of the entrees, and the pacing overall felt disorganized. That said, not everything missed--the scallion pancakes and dumplings were both quite good. Unfortunately, the beef teriyaki swung back in the other direction: very tough, overly chewy, and difficult to eat. I was genuinely excited for Koi to open, but after these visits, I'll keep making the trip to Athol for Asia Gourmet instead.
