Einstein Bros Bagel is actually quite delicious but a bit pricey - even pricier in the airport. The food is actually quite good and the coffee offerings are slightly above average. The reason for this 3 star review is the service and wait times. We just waited 30 minutes for a few breakfast bagel sandwiches. Good thing our flight was delayed; otherwise we would have been stressed. You order on the kiosk and pay with credit card. Then you wait. For a long time. They need to find a way to get faster because people waiting for food while their flight is boarding can be quite stressful. The area is relatively clean and there's decent waiting and seating areas. Airport Einstein Bros? Why not?! Lines might be long and where to place or pick up your order might be confusing but a bagel in the busiest terminal, maybe even in the early morning rush hour, is worth it here. Flying through Bush is the only time Im able to indulge in Einstein Brothers bagel. I'm usually not flying during breakfast hours, but there's no wrong time for a bagel, right. For what it is, Einstein produces satisfying bagels. Are they artisan bagels? Of course not, but are the grocery store quality, no. They fall somewhere in the middle, nudged in one of those spots that can pump out large quantities with many varieties to the masses for a generally decent price. I like to think of them as the Dunkin for bagels. The queue can be confusing. You order on the right side of the kiosk and wait for your meal on the left, but once I make it though the confusion, I always go for their equivalent of a lox bagel, and although it's not my favorite lox, it I gets the job done. My salmon was cut uneven to the point that I had to remove a few chunks :(, and I had to even out the ingredient distribution, but overall, the carbs kept me fueled for my walk through the airport and stressful boarding process. I give them four stars because one of the ladies who was not working the drink machine made my order quick and efficiently. Management should definitely assign staff based on their strong suit and where they work best. I was almost late to my flight, but thankfully someone came to help her. Orders were being placed at the front with no organization and nobody seemed to know which order belonged to who since no one was picking them up. I waited close to 20 minutes for a simple turkey and avocado bagel and eventually had to leave because my flight was getting ready to board and the order still wasn't ready. I decided to cancel the order, but then the employee at the register had to call his manager because he didn't know how to process a refund. So after already wasting time waiting for food I never received, I then had to stand there while someone was being taught how to do a refund. They are very efficient when taking orders because even though the line is long to order, you don't wait in it as much as you do waiting for your food order. I ordered a chocolate chip bagel with a honey almond spread and while it was good, I did not expect to wait for more than 15 min. for it. I actually went back to the cashier and just asked if I could just get my bagel not toasted only because my flight was already boarding. I think that is what took long. Having grown up in New York I can be pretty picky about my bagels. Einstein Bros is not like that, sadly you have to go to NY it seems for a true bagel. None the less, I like eating at this location in IAH because I love nova lox and the people here are always cheerful in their service. The location in Terminal C has plenty of seating so I can open my laptop or ebook and work/read while enjoying breakfast. Coffee here is good too. Einstein's offers four or five choices with various strengths and flavor. Me? I always shoot for their strongest and drink it black. If you need milk in coffee the the coffee must be crap. read more

You can't expect much from airport food or airport food service people. I'm not sure if I've ever been to an Einstein Bros Bagel shop anywhere else, but I found myself on a 12 hour layover at IAH and after a significant nap, I wanted to grab breakfast before my next flight. I wandered through two terminals and found this little food court in Terminal E. There are a few other eateries here including a panda express and a starbucks. The starbucks line was smaller here than it was at a different starbucks in a different terminal. The line for Einstein Bros was about 5 people long. Some of the other places to get food were open, but the lines were either very short or non existent. There were two people working. One taking orders at the register and one preparing the food. I ordered a breakfast bagel sandwich. It came out to about $10. Pretty expensive and while the bagel as pretty delicious, the egg and meat weren't great. I think next time, if I'm around for breakfast, I might try a different eatery or get a bagel with cream cheese instead. The cashier was feeling the pressure a little I think. She was a little snappy because the customers in front of me didn't really understand/speak english and it was difficult to communicate. She kinda lost her patience with them. I made sure to order quickly and not ask questions and didn't have a problem. The person making the food was fast, but the guy behind me ordered the same thing, but with two eggs instead of 1. She called out our orders at the same time and said they were the same when we asked which was which. She was also a bit impatient. This place is in the food court of International Terminal E. They open at 5 am and are quick, I guess that's the only time they might be able to do any business. I ordered an avocado toast and picked a glass of orange juice. Now orange juice was very deceptive. If it's in a glass with a labeled date, you'd normally assume it's freshly squeezed but this one is not. It's the same bad tasting boxed orange juice produced in bulk but sold in glasses. I was very disappointed after my first sip. The avocado toast though came as a sandwich, should rather be marketed as avocado sandwich. I also thought they will just serve it open faced, but they wrapped it in a paper like sandwich which killed the concept of avocado toast for me. 2 stars for filing the belly, nothing much. read more

Came here to eat breakfast since my flight was canceled due to the extreme thunderstorms and rain. My friend got the ham, cheese, and bacon bagel while I got the peach berry smoothie. It was pretty quick service considering how long the line was. I always think it's a nice touch when the cashier asks for your name so when they yell it out, it's more personable than your order number. Food: The bagel was just made and toasted, so it was pretty delicious. The smoothie was alright. I saw her put in the ingredients in the blender and I felt like she added too much apply juice, so that was all I tasted. So for those who order the smoothie, I would recommend to just kindly ask to add more yogurt instead of apple juice. Still one of my favorite bagel places ever. Anytime I'm in an airport and there is a convenient one, I always go. The bagel I get is the same every time: Asiago bagel with jalapeño salsa shmear. This time I also got a fountain drink. The Einstein located near C terminal is in a Cove with a few other eateries including Wendy's and la salsa. It serves Pepsi products, so if you're looking for Pepsi fountain drinks this will be your place. Low stars because they were out of ice and the cashier couldn't figure out how to ring up my order.
