And a woman likely female from birth who was aged approximately 45 - 60 years, weighing between 50 and 250 pounds. You think the two would be relatively easy to distinguish for someone who took both orders ten minutes ago with no intervening customers or otherwise shiny objects to distract, detract, and brainwash or brain drain. But no. As far as airport-food-rants go this one is pretty mild because the phrase "basic bitches" while eminently appropriate and oft repeated on my blog, is not suitable for official company correspondence as I learned late Tuesday night. So since I still have a job after that incident I am now taking the phrase "mediocre maidens" out for a spin to make my life a little more politically correct, since the basic part, the main thrust of the phrase, somehow is overshadowed by the word bitch, when that is really a minor component of how ratchet the proscribed individual truly is. The workers here are mediocre maidens for messing up my bagel order and making me wait even longer to shove food in my mouth. Basics should not make royalty wait for their food: only basics wait for their food. IS THE SKINNY BAGEL WRONG? Nope!!! Because it saves you on fat, calories and sodium. And a little bit less is a whole lot better for your body. I grabbed the Buffalo Chicken Bagel Thin Sandwich. I loved that it wasn't deep fried chicken but grilled. That always makes me feel like I'm making a healthier choice. I wished that it was a whole chicken breast. The sandwich had grilled chicken strips which kept falling out of the bagel. So I ended up eating a wheat thin bagel with lettuce, tomato and red onion. With a side of grilled chicken strips which I was forced to eat with my fingers because of the lack of a fork. I think the sandwich has potential. I love that a fast food place is making an effort to try and offer a healthier version of their sandwich. There are many choices here at the airport and so many temptations for food. I received an acceptable meal here after concluding that La Salsa and Wendy's were both unsatisfactory. These people were not only able to make me full, but they also provided good food and at a reasonable price. So Houston's airport is not totally hopeless. I got a salmon bagel for $6.99. Of all the things you could put in a sandwich, salmon is probably one of the better options, and these people do it well. The bread was tasty and the cream cheese was plentiful. The pinnacle of airport Einstein brother locations remains Denver. Meanwhile, if you are a United supporter you probably haven't seen this location that often has 25-50 people in line. It's in the Southwest terminal. This Einstein at IAH is a smaller step-sister. It has less product, fewer people in line and is far less organized. Meanwhile, no one can complain about the bagels. They do taste like fresh made bagels and offer a variety of options with sandwiches and spreads. And, if you're in this E terminal, it's still better (food wise) than what they offer at Dunkin Donuts. If it's is quick, affordable breakfast you're after, this place will do. read more

If only: 1.They had their add-in's displayed somewhere instead of on a small piece of paper by the register 2. They could improve efficiency by keeping lines moving faster while people predetermine what they would like 3. I ordered the new Honey-Glazed Smoked Salmon Sandwich on a everything bagel. Actually I said onion bagel and I was told they don't have onion but the everything bagel includes onion. I knew this as I am a regular at the Einstein back home but forgot as I was in a hurry as my plane was boarding soon. You don't get to pick the veggies for this as this sandwich includes a pre made Tomato Cucumber Relish and the default cream cheese is the Onion & Chive Shmear. I got the Honey-Glazed Smoked Salmon Sandwich to go and ate it thirty minutes later when the plane reached cruising altitude. The sandwich with relish and onion chive shmear held together well as I was eating it and it instantly became my new favorite Einstein sandwich. I ate this combo in college a whole lot and every time I see an Einstein's bagel, I want to relive the nostalgia. I like Einsteins bagels' chewiness texture and consistency across the chain. However, this location's service and attitude gives a bad name to the company. The employees bickering with each other, bad attitude, and hatred of working there come out with the first glance of what do you want for your order. After wandering around the airport for about an hour we settled on grabbing a quick breakfast here. It was definitely not amazing but considering there is really nothing better, they get the job done. I was helped with 5 minutes with just a few people in line and got a small blended mocha coffee and blueberry coffee cake. I asked them to cut whatever calories they could out of the coffee (low fat milk, sugar free syrup etc) but it came out with a ton of whip cream and chocolate drizzle. And they gave me a large :/ It tasted fine I guess- nothing to write home about. The coffee cake was a good size but was fluffy and super sweet- not like a normal dense coffee cake. They also didn't give utensils and the straw was so short I had to keep grabbing it out from under the bubble lid. read more

So I passed up a nice looking sandwich shop (Panafolo) in IAH between flights today to veer towards what I thought would be the predictability of a familiar bagel. Big Mistake. I ordered an Asiago Bagel (the Everything bagels looked weak, which should have been my first clue.) I asked for it toasted with cream cheese. What I got was a greasy untoasted, slightly stake bagel with what looked like a slice of plastic melted on the top (I assume this was perhaps meant to be the Asiago?) With no time to correct my mistake, I arrived at my final destination ravenously hungry. On the way back, I will give Panafolo a try and will steer clear of bagels in Texas! read more

Not quite sure of what I might find in the airport, I decided to go for this spot because Einstein in familiar to me. This one is different. I opted for the skinny bagel, which I have purchased before in Louisville. It was not the same. . .not at all. Now I understand and appreciate why some companies, like Starbucks for example, spend a lot of time and money on product consistency. This bagel was nothing of what I expected. The bagel itself was too much like a thick bagel, and all the asparagus was on the inside of the egg white. It was too spicy for me--after all, it is a breakfast item. After a disappointing lunch across the way at the Real Food Company, I popped over to Einstein Brothers to grab a bagel before my flight to Pittsburgh. I ordered my usual bagel combination--everything bagel with cream cheese. The bagel was moist, not dry. It was nicely seasoned, though I thought it could have used more onion and garlic--but that's a personal preference. (And I'm sure my neighbors on my flight appreciated that I didn't reek of garlic.) There was a good amount of cream cheese--not too much but not too little to feel cheated. Service was abrupt, but that's to be expected in an airport food court, I guess. And I have to agree with my fellow Yelpers--it took surprisingly long to get my order, even one as simple as a toasted bagel and cream cheese. I was a little irked that while I ordered my bagel toasted, it arrived plain, definitely not toasted. I was in too much of a hurry to protest, so I took my bagel and carried on to make my flight. I've seen animals on the street treated with less attitude. I kept my receipt from a month ago on my last trip just to write this review. I got so much attitude and poor service from someone named Fanny C. This woman was rude as could be and made sure not to answer my simple questions (what is on this sandwich?). When she was talking to me she made sure to turn around and break any kind of eye contact behind the counter area so she could not be heard. One of the other employees had to answer my question for her and then take my order. Please note, there was no language barrier and in the same age range. When she rang up my order (which was all laid out on the counter, no surprise add ins) she completely bungled my order. A sandwich and a few drinks should not cost anywhere near the $30 she tried to charge me. To make it worse, Fanny then told me she "forgot" to also add on my yogurt parfait. I was already in a rush and after being brushed off by her, I wasn't about to play this game, so I put the yogurt back and got the other things. No "please", "how may I help you?", or even a muttered "thank you" after I finally got my order. I stopped in their location in Terminal C for a sandwich. They had cards on the shelves to list the sandwiches, but the packages themselves were not labeled. I grabbed a wrap that was listed as being buffalo chicken. I couldn't see inside, as the wrap was cut, but not presented as such as to see the inside. When I got on my plane to eat, it turns out it was not buffalo chicken, but a turkey wrap. OK, I like turkey well enough (not sure if there was a difference in price or not). I bite into the wrap and immediately wretched, as there was a huge piece of onion. The whole damned wrap had so many onions, the entire sandwich tasted of them. I was unable to eat any more than 3 bites. So that was a lousy value. I was also not impressed with what appears to have been a whole grain tortilla, which was like eating a cereal box. Lesson learned. Stick to food properly labeled, packaged so you can see it, avoid whole grain tortillas, and ensure there are no onions. read more

Friendly staff but of course it is expensive because it is at the airport. The sandwich was pretty dry. They also only have Pepsi products and I prefer Coke stuff. The staff was so friendly that it made up for the average food. I'm sure I will be back. It's a quick in and out place. read more

This was an ok place to get a bagel sandwich while passing through IAH. Prices weren't has high as at some of the other food stands and restaurants, and we figured a bagel sandwich probably wasn't as unhealthy as Panda Express greasiness.
