Seating is awkward, strewn out without larger tables. Parking is early a problem for the morning food run. I missed more gluten and dairy free options. Value and overall nutrition doesn't really stand out for other better scratch made restaurants like Sacred Grounds and Town and Gown. read more

I had one of the most frustrating dining experiences at Einstein Bagels in West Lafayette, Indiana. I ordered a simple avocado, tomato, bacon, and egg white sandwich. Nothing complicated. After waiting 20 minutes, our food finally came out -- and it was completely wrong. Not slightly off. Completely wrong. We sent it back, expecting a quick fix. Instead, we waited another **40 minutes** for the remake. During that time, I had to walk up to the counter *twice* to ask where our sandwich was because people who ordered after us were getting their remakes before ours was even started. We had already been there for an hour at that point. There's no excuse for that level of disorganization. If you mess up an order, at least prioritize fixing it. Watching other customers get served while we sat there waiting on a correction was beyond irritating. An hour for a breakfast sandwich is ridiculous. Do better. read more

Better than the average Einstein's. The only flaw was that there is no inside, or outside seating. All the tables and chairs have been stacked away. Is this the remnants of old Covid or in preparation of the new Covid variants? Possibly this could be that this store lacks the staff, due to nationwide labor shortages, to wipe down tables. read more

It honestly tasted good and seemed like a light option. I had a turkey bacon avocado sandwich and a caramel macchiato but I ended up feeling sick after about 3 sips of coffee. It's a popular place but it really didn't settle in my stomach well and I threw up in the end. Not a fan but it's open early so it may be a good option for a quick breakfast. Given the nearly four hour drive to West Lafayette for our Purdue tour, we arrived early enough to have breakfast. Looking on Yelp, I saw that Einstein Bros. Bagels was both open and within walking distance. While I normally try to avoid chains, I have never been to an Einstein Brother's before, and regardless we do not have many of this particular chain where I live, so we decided to give it a try. The first challenge was finding a door we could use to enter, as the first one I tried was locked. The second challenge was figuring out which end of the counter to order from, because the pay-end and the order-end looked the same, and unlike Qdoba or Chipotle, there were no "Order Here" and "Pay Here" signs. After that, our Einstein Bros experience went according to script: the prices were ok (neither cheap nor expensive), the breakfast bagel sandwiches were decently average (both in taste and size), and the coffee machine self-service. Overall, I rate Einstein Bros. Bagels as being Good, and would return. read more

I'm a huge fan of Einstein Bros bagels. It's my go-to for breakfast bagel sandwiches. I typically order the All-nighter or the Chorizo Avocado Sunrise and they're always solid and flavorful. Any bagels with shmear are great too. Depending on the time of day, they often run out of certain bagels that pair well with the sandwiches, so make sure you come in early. The customer service at this location is subpar. I've come here many times this year and rarely had a friendly employee. This location is also not on any food delivery apps (might have changed recently) so you have to use their app to order ahead. This app is dysfunctional and there was an instance where it charged me 3 times for one order. When I went in to the location to ask for help, the employees were very dismissive and just gave me the email to contact customer support. It was eventually sorted out but it took over a week. Overall, I love Einstein Bros, but I am always hesitant to come to this location in particular. read more

So we asked them to make note of this change and placed the order via the app. The Farmhouse bagel was super yummy! It's a fully loaded breakfast sandwich but totally worth it. Truly terrible service. It's take out only, though there are no warning signs on the door or at the counter. The teenager at the counter tried to short change me and didn't put any napkins in my bag. Oh Einstein's... I think back fondly to the days of early Saturday mornings after late Friday nights and how any kind of gross feeling was cured with your carbs. Expect a wait as many others also want a bagel and coffee, but the wait usually isn't too terrible. The employees always seemed to be super stressed out and rushing to get everything done, even during a lull in business, so I can't say they're the friendliest crowd. Really, you're here for a bite to eat and maybe grabbing a seat. Don't expect to become BFFs with the employees. The Vanilla Hazelnut coffee is bae... if you can grab it while it's available. Maybe it's just my luck but the coffee pot for this flavor always seem to be empty. My go-to is a bacon and spinach sandwich. My boyfriend's is an Asiago bagel with strawberry shmear-- don't knock it 'til you try it. read more

I'm a regular here...have been for many years. It's simple...today I come in for lunch...a Tasty Turkey and a small coffee...so far so good. The rep at the register told me that they were out of small cups, so was medium okay? I say yes, but you should still charge me for a small...not my fault they're out of cups. All of this seems pretty straight-forward and simple...and, of course, it's the right thing to do. I asked for a manager, and that's when I was made to feel like a fool for asking to pay only for what I ordered. One worker not even involved in the transaction turned, glared at me and mocked me, and the guy at the register thought my request was ridiculous. Wow, what great service...your screwup (not having cups) earns me your ridicule...fantastic. Perhaps management could practice and teach customer service and graciousness...e.g. "sorry sir, we're out of small cups, would a medium cup at the price of a small work?" That's how ANYONE who is good at customer service would have done it, and I'd fire the line employee who mocked the customer. read more

I'm a bit disappointed with the low ratings, so I will give my input on Einstein's! I have ordered at Einstein's a couple of times, and every time I have had a great experience. The service is fast, very friendly and the food is delicious. Einstein's food is fresh and made right after you order. Every time I have been to Einstein's there has been a somewhat long line of around 8 customers, but the service is fast, and I can get my order in around 10 minutes. Not only is Einstein's a place for breakfast, but lunch as well! My go to order is the turkey bacon and avocado sandwich ($7.50), with the mixed berry smoothie ($3.80). While a little pricey, well worth the cost for a quality meal. read more

I tried to show my reward when I ordered and they told me to show at the register, and the same lady checked me out and said it was too late to add a reward. Einsteins makes great bagels and baked goods. That's the good news. The bad news: everything else in the restaurant is mediocre. Their bagels are good, but they aren't cheap. a simple bagel is $.99, which is reasonable. However, their "signature bagels" cost around $2.50. Yep, that's two-fifty for a bagel. Cream cheese will cost you extra! I once ordered a bagel sandwich with sausage, bacon, cheese, and eggs and it cost $8.00. It tasted good, but not $8.00 worth of good. I have tried various lunch salads etc, and all were average. The real problem with Einstein's is the service. They always mess up my order. Then of course when I try to get it fixed the employees become argumentative. You made the mistake, don't act like I'm inconveniencing you! The following is an update: It appears that the service issues have been resolved. I've noticed the two particularly confrontational women are gone and their replacements are much more competent. The Einstein's staff members have not made any errors regarding my order for over a year now. It seems they have new management. The food is still good, but be weary about ordering outside of the comfort zone. It's a bagel joint... stick to the bagels and coffee! Strange: Einstein's has a display case filled with bagels. Strangely, when the bagels in the display have all sold out, the employees don't always refill them. Everyone knows about this little quirk, so customers always have to ask, "Hey, are there any blueberry bagels left in the back?" Then of course the staff member has to go and check and ultimately everyone in line just ends up waiting longer. Despite my petty complaints about the expensive egg sandwiches, and the staff's unwillingness to replenish the display case - I have to admit that Einstein's really is a fantastic little restaurant. I visit regularly, and since the change-of-staff that occurred around 2013/2014, I have always received excellent customer service and satisfaction. Keep it up! read more

I'm not a huge bagel fan but once in a while I like an egg and cheese on a bagel and their version is pretty good. They also have very good (but expensive) muffins with a large crumbly topping and really excellent iced coffee. I would be a regular here if there was better parking nearby. read more

I absolutely love Einsteins and usually choose them over the other chains. This particular store has been very disappointing the last two times I went. The first time was just super slow service. It was like 4 people in line brought them to a crashing halt. And they were out of many of their bagels. The second time they were out of even more flavors and this was slowing down the line due to customers asking for their favorite flavors and the answer being they are all out. I asked for a apple cinnamon bagel with honey almond schmear and my boyfriend got two both with strawberry schmear. We had to take it to go because they were going so slow and I discovered once we left that they had given me strawberry as well. Super disappointing for a chain that I like so much. i went to Einstein brothers bagel to buy bagels today. This is the west Lafayette store near the library. While I was standing in line, I noticed several flies were flying round near the bangles and they made frequent stops right on the bangles. This was frightening because I was going to eat those bagels. I spoke to a staff first about this concern, she expressed there was nothing she can do. So I talked to another lady who seemed to be the manager of the day; she said the same thing: there was nothing they can do! I was shocked by their attitude! They can do nothing about the flies?! So I asked for the contact info of the general manager, they gave me her card (her name is Nicole Greene) and they told me their manager would say the same thing should I contacted her. End of the story! Very disappointed, not only by the disgusting fliers, but also the attitude of the staff. read more

Stopped in on a Saturday morning for a cup of coffee. The space was very roomy and would be nice for a group meet up or study session. They weren't too busy but still kept fresh hot coffee which was super important for my morning to start off right. They had a few nice outdoor tables as well. This is a pretty good place to grab breakfast. It's a chain and they are all the same. They have bagels and breakfast sandwiches. The bagels are good but get there early before they sell out of the good kinds. The prices are reasonable. The staff is always very friendly and they never messed up an order. There isn't a lot of seating so don't count on getting a table to do a crossword while you eat breakfast. You will most likely end up taking it to go. However, during the warm months, they do have outdoor seating available and it is nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy breakfast on a cool morning. Their seasonal roasts are worth trying. Bring your own coffee mug and the price is for a "refill" which is cheaper. And the Asiago bagel with schmear...heaven. There is always a table free which is better than many of the coffee shops near campus. Einsteins doesn't have the problem of "camping" by students and using up table space as many coffee shops do. I'm not sure why that is. But if it means I get to sit down after I purchase breakfast, you have my patronage, Einstein's. read more

I prefer this place over the local coffee shops. All the employees are very friendly and they know a lot of customers' names. Coffee is delicious, not to mention half the price of the hipster coffee places nearby, which are always packed anyway. Atmosphere is nice - plenty of space and it's not 100% college students (a nice reminder of the world outside campus). You can spend hours in here, so it's a good thing refills are free. read more

After a few months all the employees knew me by name and started my order when I walked in the door. That's what I call good service! I would get the occasional comp if anything went wrong. Probably the only place at Purdue to get a good bagel. I always opt for the Farmhouse or Peppered Bacon Melt. Both have an egg, bacon or ham, schmear, and come on a hash brown or six cheese bagel w/ other toppings like tomatoes, etc.. A great brunch-type meal. Oh, and they have the BEST strawberry banana smoothie. And really good orange juice (super cold). Their bagel selection doesn't disappoint. They're always crispy/crunchy/toasted perfectly. Having been so disappointed recently in this town's other bagel place, I thought I'd give Einstein Brothers another chance. It had been several years since I last patronized this chain. I remember my last visit being pleasant, although I believe they were focusing more on coffee and salads back then, and only offered 5-8 varieties of bagel. 1. Bland, wrong texture, incorrect names - I don't think they're boiled, but I'm not sure if they ever were before. Drizzling frosting and sugar on a bagel doesn't make it a struesel. I've been eating bagels for 30+ years and I've never seen a salt bagel rebranded as a pretzel until now. 2. Filthy floors @ 06:30 am. 3. Watery, lukewarm coffee - I bought a large dark roast. I could see the bottom of the cup when it was full, and after adding a dollop of cream, my coffee was beige. 4. Error in filling order - They shorted me a toasted bagel w/ cream cheese in an order of 4 total bagels. This was also my fault for not examining the error before leaving the store. It isn't hard to make a good bagel. It is easy to make coffee. I don't get how this could go so wrong. read more

It's a typical franchise. The food is exactly the same at any other einstein's. Staff is friendly. Sometimes it's a bit crowded. I like to call in advance to place my order so that they will have it ready when I come in and pick it up. I give service a five star. The food is mediocre and a "safe" choice. read more
