But the choice of using what tasted like candied dried mango slices in the sandwich was awful. The flavors just did not marry and it's likely because this is what happens when you have a great idea, but use crap and cheap ingredients to craft something. Maybe they are better known for some other dishes, but the fact that they use store-bought sauces on their sandwiches is pretty tacky. Overall, this place is all hype and no heart. Just a steady flow of clout-chasing customers akin to those that frequent Starbucks as part of a lifestyle. Don't fall for the hype. It's okay to not like something that the masses do.

The pizzas are great, but the sandwiches at the alacart downtown are sub par. The bread on the pernil sandwich was too dense, dry and chewy. It had very little stand alone flavor.. which took away from the juicy pernil it was served with. The chicken parm sandwich wasn't horrible, but at the same time wasn't a satisfying experience. The price point for the sandwiches are way too high here. Not trying to be too harsh on a local small business, but the sandwiches truly taste like homemade food that needs to stay home and doesnt have that "this is something I'm happy that I paid for" quality. read more

Didn't catch the name of the guy with the gauges, but he had great service as well. The food was all right. Definitely too well seasoned and salty. The waffles and pancakes were bland, not even the butter or syrup was able to save them. Add more vanilla or cinnamon to the batter if they're made from scratch. The plates are no longer glass or ceramic, they are now a hard plastic material, so don't cut too hard on them to prevent getting some mircoplastics on your food. We spent about $82.00 on 3 food items, a coffee with refills and an apple juice. This place is STILL CASH so bring cash or use their ATM machine.
