My husband and I ordered a pizza from here a few days ago, and it was fantastic! We got a 16-inch thin-crust pizza, split half-and-half. The right side (pepperoni and pineapple) was delicious, and the left side (pepperoni and mushrooms) was just as good. I also tried the Zeppoles, which were really tasty, though the smallest order comes with about six--a bit too many for just me! We will definitely be ordering from here again. John S. from New Milford owned this establishment for decades. The food was always good quality with great portions. Examples include his large Pizza slice and Italian Hero sandwich with a lot of meat and bread that melted in your mouth. That being said, the knew owner doesn't seem to be living up to the Italian Connection legacy. For example: Since Dante's in River Edge closed down the only place to get an authentic Italian hero around here was the Italian Connection in Dumont. I recently purchased two large Italian heros. Although the size was large enough, I think the cold cuts could have been a little better and their could have been more cheese. Unfortunately, the bread was terrible. The bread was outstanding when John S. owned the restaurant. Always fresh and you tell that it was made by a quality baker. One can taste the difference. Not good, I won't say awful but not good. I got a steak and cheese and asked for ketchup salt and pepper in the notes section of ordering app. I even got a receipt with the order which clearly said ketchup salt and pepper. It had none. I assumed the put it in the bag? Nope. And they were extremely cheap with the steak and the cheese. I ordered a large and it contained what you would expect on a small, spread out over a large here. Pitiful, for $15. Look at that picture. It looks like a loaf of Italian bread cut in half because that's what it mostly is (the ketchup I added from a bottle). We also ordered chicken fingers. What they sent over were flavorless greasy overcooked chicken patties sliced into finger-sized strips. I assume they ran out of chicken fingers and just sliced up some left over chicken. Rubbery and flavorless. How do you screw up chicken fingers? If they ran out, fine then say something it happens. But this is BS. And it was nasty. Overall lousy. Between the lack of attention to detail, the serious absence of either steak or cheese in a steak and cheese (it wasn't cheap) and the swapping out of chicken fingers for leftover chewy greasy dry flavorless chicken patties cut up is not going to work. I have ordered from them on and off over the years and always forget why I don't do it more frequently. This was so ridiculously bad that I will not forget it. read more

Was looking a quick slice after Fink's nearby ran out of wings on their wings night. This happened to be the closest place and was open till 11 so we walked over. Staff greeted us right away and was extremely friendly. The place was kind of a hybrid of a deli and a casual Italian restaurant as their display only showcased deli meat and a few desserts. There were no pizzas out. I could be wrong but it didn't seem like a single slice type of place. Since there were 5 of us, one of the employees just suggested we get a whole pie since it would be cheaper and fresher anyhow so we just opted to get a half plain and half pepperoni pie since it was only around $16. Figured $2 per slice wasn't bad and it made sense, but the suggestion was appreciated. The pie came out relatively quickly and really there is nothing better than a fresh pie. I was a little surprised because the pie was definitely smaller than a typical pie. I want to say that each slice was about 30% smaller than a typical slice that you would get anywhere else so in actuality the $16 price per pie wasn't cheaper than we had originally thought. As for the pizza itself, it tasted fine. Pizza really is a preference thing, but personally I wasn't blown away by the pie, but I wasn't disappointed with it either. I'm sure the pizza being fresh had a lot to do with it. The crust I thought was a little lacking. Thought it could have been a tiny bit thicker but it was semi-crispy so that was a plus. The cheese was good and the sauce was fine but thought it could have used a little more. The pepperoni was thin too and didn't get as much crisp as I would have liked. Overall, it satisfied our craving and given the late time, it was a fine option. Staff being friendly is always a nice plus too. read more

Ordered catering for a party on the Saturday before Christmas. Everything was great. The man who took the order was super nice. He answered all my questions about how much food and what combination of food I should order for how many people. The delivery came on time and the multiple trays were brought directly into the house. Finally, the most important thing, the food was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Just went with a basic cheese pizza, as if you can't get that right then nothing else will be good. We weren't disappointed. I ordered specifically pasta with broccoli with no meat and when I received the order when I opened it the pasta had chicken on it. We ordered from Italian Connection for the very first time last night. We got a regular cheese cheese pizza, a greek pizza, shrimp scampi and 2 cannoli. We ordered directly thru them and not a delivery app. The man who took our order was friendly and even tho they were busy, didnt make us feel rushed to just place our order quick. The delivery was fast and the food was hot. They even placed the food on our porch table. I cant tell you how many restaurants just put the food on the ground. But they saw the table on our porch and knew to put the food there. On to the food. The cheese pizza is good but no different than other plain pizzas from other places. The greek pizza is really good. If you like feta cheese as much as I do, you'll love this pizza. The shrimp scampi is awesome. They aren't stingy with the shrimp like so many other places are. We got the scampi with rice and veggies. It all was very flavorful. The cannoli were very good. Being sicilian, I know how a cannolu (a singular one) should taste and this is it. The worst experience. I order pizza at 543 and was told it will be over hour wait for the pizza. I called again at 7:13 for status on pizza and was told ticket is not there should be delivered soon. I called again at 7:30 and employee inform me delivery driver left the pizza outside the door. I asked why no phone call or he didn't ring the door bell. He said contactless delivery and claim driver called several times. I didn't receive one phone call. Upon opening the pizza a slice was missing and the box wasn't even hot. I called back.
