The best ceviche! The fish is nice and soft. Good sized chucks of veggies. A great lime flavor. And lots of it! I've been trying ceviche from all kinds of restaurants up and down California from L.A. to S.D. for years now. This little place in Downey is still the best. I love to get an large order of the fish ceviche and extra tostadas and bring it home. I add a bunch more lime to it. So good. This place is amazing! I have a few go-to dishes. I love the fish ceviche, the chicken tacos, and the grilled shrimp tacos. The customer service is always on point. I usually get take-out given the pandemic and they 100% live up to their express name. I call in the order and they always have it ready in 10 to 15 minutes, are extremely pleasant. I was craving for some ceviche and a friend recommended this place. It's a small restaurant type establishment sitting next to an old unused lot. The set up here is very basic and nothing special. You have your tables and your bar stools to sit on. You order your meal and they drop it off at your table. My friend ordered the cooked shrimp ceviche. I honestly didn't care for it too much. It was good but nothing to take home and speak about. I ordered the aguachile and I enjoyed it but it was missing an element that I can't put a finger on. The only thing that irked me was the shrimp was butterflied but the gut was not removed and I had to remove it before I ate them. The amount of chile in my ceviche was good and the tostada that came with it was tasty as well. There was no grease and it was crunchy. The portion size is fair and you get what you pay for. I been wanting to try this place it looks super good so I ended up ordering through yelp. The first time I came a lady ended up saying it wasn't the right spot it was the restaurant across the street so I ended up going across the street. they said no it wasn't them so I called customer service they ended up speaking to someone named Carmen and she told customer service it would be ready in 10 mins. I went back waited a little more than 10 mins and she ended up telling me I had to pay again the price went up from almost 34 dollar to 55 for the same order. Decided to try a new place in Downey this evening. Ordered the chicken fajita tacos, they were good. Great flavor but needed some guacamole and sour cream. We ordered some avocado, they gave us 3 very thin slices and charged $1 which I thought was pricey. We also ordered a large shrimp cocktail which was also good. Overall, a pretty good place. With specials on Monday's (Shrimp) and Wednesday's (Fish), it's the absolute best bang for your buck if you're craving some fried seafood tacos for lunch/dinner. Although the prices may seem quite high for what you'd pay for a shrimp/fish taco (normal price), the size of these are enormous! Not to mention, they use some of the best batter mixes I have ever had! The Shrimp Ceviche is by far my favorite. I usually come here during Lent. Place have been pretty clean but always warm. I thought by now the can afford a air conditioning unit. Today I had the combo plate, which is 3 shrimp a long piece of cod fish with fries and a side of salad and white rice. The only thing I did not like about the plate was the rice a bit soggy.
