I had no idea this was the sister restaurant to the one down the street, El Buen Gusto, until I saw the menu and asked to confirm. Family run Mexican and Salvadoran restaurant with delicious authentic and traditional meals. I always get their pupusas and carnitas and they don't disappoint. Sometimes I order a 32 oz to go cup of refried beans because they're so good. I bet they use the lard from the carnitas; delicious!!! Highly recommend this restaurant!!! read more

My previous experience here has mostly been ordering pupusas for pick-up. Today we met with some friends visiting from out-of-state. The restaurant was very busy, which is a great sign. Lunch time on a Monday. I can't remember if Bueno Gusto was ever that busy. We had a large party, so we got to sit at the round table. We all ordered their pupusas, which were good as always. My son got the carne asada tacos, which he enjoyed, now that he has become more adventurous with his eating habits. I'm very glad to have this restaurant near me and that they are doing well. The staff seems friendly as always when I've visited the restaurant before. It's spacious seems to be enough seating around , you don't wait around long to make a line unless you're going to the front to pay or order food at the cashier. The food has been good so far when I gone but sometimes it's not always hot enough when they get it to you. Mine seems to be warm. This last time I visited the server seemed to be rushing, it wasn't too busy around I feel like she was in a rush to get our order and walk away. Although they have a new system implemented which seems good how they take your order. I did mention what I wanted the first time it came wrong I did speak up and say it wasn't what I wanted. The second time they brought it almost right. I just left it as is. Once I started to try and eat I noticed 2 hairs around my eggs. I felt sick I told the server as soon as he came by. We had to wait and ask for water they didn't offer any as soon as we got there, they brought us 2 cups of water one had a piece of corn inside the water. went and had another order made that one came and it seemed good, I just didn't have much of an appetite after I had seen that on my food. :( if the cooks aren't wearing any hairnets or being careful they should be more cautious about their food and surroundings. I order two orders of empanadas, in Guatemala we call them rellenitos. Easy to order over the phone and pick up was about twenty minutes. Quick. Kind staff and I was in and out in no time. My grandmother enjoyed them! We got the ones with frijoles but they also offer them with leche. I wish my photo did it better justice. When it's cold out, I enjoy their elote atole ( sweet corn gruel beverage). The chicken soup is excellent; served Salvadoreño style with grilled chicken on the side and a bowl of rice. This used to be one of my favorite places to go, but their service has really gone down ever since they hired new servers. I went there a few weeks ago and the server spoke to me in Spanish. I politely told him my Spanish is extremely limited, and just kept speaking to me in Spanish in a very aggressive tone. I never felt more unwelcome at a restaurant before. I went there again today, and I got a different server. The young lady was good enough not to show any hostility towards me because I didn't speak much Spanish. But it was all downhill from there. I ordered a beef soup and it took a long time to get it. I got a bowl of soup with one uncut piece of meat with just a soon, but no fork or knife to cut the meat. She left and never once came to check if everything was ok or if I needed anything else. The soup was way too salty, the rice and the meat were undercooked. I would never step foot into this place again. The older Lady who is Manager/ manages this location does not know the meaning of good customer service or making a customer happy. Be careful with the pupusa here. I ordered some to go and found a huge white hair wrapped up on all my pupusa. When I contacted her, she told me that nobody there had any white hair, when clearly if you come here. You know she bags of the food and she has a scalp full of white hair. It's one thing to deny and not step up to the mistakes but to not make the customer happy? That's messing up your business. I understand that they're small business so a refund is not guaranteed but not making the effort to replace the food that had to be tossed that I spent money on is ridiculous. Good here is ok. Today I went with my wife. She ordered one pupusa and yuka con chicharrón . Jose took our order. It was delivered by another lady. My wife asked her for her yuca. The lady acted like she was going to go and check on it. 10 min later Jose came back and acted all confused. We told him that we didn't receive the complete order. He proceeded to argue that my wife had not order the yuca. In other words he was calling her a lier. I told him that I heard her ordering it. He kept insisting that she didn't and finally he said that he guesses he didn't hear. Bad customer service from both servers. read more

Let's start with parking! Parking is difficult to find. There are about 5-7 spaces. "Oh! Let me park on the street!" Nope. Think again! It's complicated there too. Long wait times. Perhaps it's due to the fact that it is because they are understaffed. I used to come here every so often, but stooped because of the wait time. It seems as if they go through staff members. Always new faces. Food is great, but not worth the wait. If you really would like to eat here... My mom brought me to this restaurant for the first time . They have a good selection on the menu. I love the Caldo de Res. I also had a Champurrado which was delicious.
