A good friend of mine kept recommending me this place for tacos and finally took him up on it and i was pissed at myself for not coming any sooner, they were so good! I ordered myself 4 tacos, two Al pastor, one asada and one chicken. The Al pastor was hands down the best meat but the asada and chicken were also very good. For the price your getting great authentic Mexican food and you can't beat that. Overall, I will defenitly be back very soon. The staff is extremely friendly and provides recommendations when unable to decide what to pick. The restaurant location is on the busy street in the Avenue. The establishment is hard to miss. I've been here twice already and I've had good experiences both times. This place is hard to find because it's not close to the sidewalk you have to drive in to the lot. The duo in the front is awesome they're so nice greet you with a smile. The carne asada is so tasty and the Birria burrito is good. I asked for consume with it. But fear not... the food that emerged from the kitchen belies the less than stellar appearance of the establishment. Meats were seasoned and cooked to perfection, vegetables were fresh, and salsas were bursting with flavor and properly picante bordering on fuego. Que Rico! The micheladas were pricey but tasty. Came for lunch with my wife and place was very empty only two other people in here. The space is very big and open. The menu has enough options that you're guaranteed to find something you'd like. The pastor meat was delicious with good flavor and the lengua wasn't overcooked! The salsas are delicious but there is one that definitely has a kick so beware if you're not into spicy food. I was looking for a quick meal this morning and stopped by here. I ordered an al pastor combination that comes with rice and beans. They also offer maiz or flour tortillas with the order. The plate was very delicious and juicy and not dry at all. They offer a large menu with lots of options. I love the vibrant green color of this place that makes it look very welcoming. They have little games inside for the kids. It does get pretty busy in the morning but they are quick with orders. read more

Came here to try out their burritos since this place was in the neighborhood. Food - my fiancé and I ended up ordering one of their breakfast burritos, an asada burrito, and tacos al pastor. Overall, the value you get for the burritos is awesome! The burritos are BIG and relatively cheap compared to many places. For breakfast burritos, you can choose from a couple different meats, but we decided to get a burrito with both chorizo and bacon for an additional cost. Even then, the burrito came out to less than $11! The taste of the breakfast burrito was pretty good and the portion is very filling. However, the burritos have TOO much potato, which throws off the proportions and it's easy to get overwhelmed with the potato taste. My advice is to ask to go light on the potatoes or skip them all together. The asada burrito was also really big and comes with rice and beans. The meat itself is good, has a nice seared taste, but could benefit from additional seasoning. The same goes for the rice and beans. The al pastor tacos were probably my favorite part of our order. The meat was cooked well and it was pretty good. I'll likely be getting more of this next time. Service - service was very friendly and I really like that it's a family owned business. There were only three people working there when we arrived, with only one cook, so it took a little while to get our order. However, we didn't mind the wait too much because it's a smaller restaurant and they were working hard to fulfill all the orders while doing the best job they could. We appreciate that! They also had great music playing, so that helped pass the time quickly. Location - the inside of the restaurant is very spacious and reminds me of many of the restaurants I've visited in Mexico. Definitely nothing fancy but functional. Giving this place a 4/5 because they are customer service focused and you can't beat the value of those burritos! read more

Been wanting to try here for a long time and finally did. We order 3 pastor tacos, enchiladas, and a chicken burrito. Came out to $29..57....a bit pricey. The pastor tacos were super fire! The red and green salsas were good, green wasn't spicy but really good flavor. The enchiladas were really fire, I loved how they were put on the flattop to crisp-up. Really nice touch there. But the beans were sad. The burrito was a really big size- didn't get a pic :( The chicken in the burrito was really Smokey and gave me a bbq'd at home vibe. Definitely will be back, but I'm not a fan of the price, or the fact it doesn't have them listed anywhere(that I saw). My receipt didn't have them either. read more

This place has a fantastic carne asada burrito and Al pastor tacos. They didn't have the trompo or salsa bar out when I went, but it was late in the afternoon. They had a mariachi band warming up on the back patio. It was definitely worth a stop if you want really good food. Would have given 5 stars if they had a better menu and signage. It was a little tough to tell the costs and what each item came with. The owner was very nice though and was happy to explain everything. I will definitely go back next time in Ventura. read more

A very good Al Pastor taqueria. They offer other taco fillings, but I think the al pastor is a good place to start. The taqueria also offers uncooked pre-marinated meat in case you want to cook your own. I came in on a Monday night and it's was fairly relaxed. The place is spacious and clean. We been eating here since this Monday due to a customer recommending this place to us. The food takes a bit longer due to it being cooked fresh and the salsas aren't hot but compliment the tacos which is a really good thing because the meat should be the highlight when eating. My husband and his employees have been eating there every other day since and said they have really good burgers that are rib eye mixed with bacon. My favorite is the fresh asada tacos and my son loves loves the chicken tacos (he's super picky so they must be good) And on the weekends they make homemade tortillas with their tacos for an extra fee which we will try tomorrow. I had the Pastor burrito. Absolutely delicious!!!. The spices that they use on the meat are reminiscent of an amazing chorizo. They give you a few different choices of salsa in which they will put inside for you. I went with the molcajete, turned out to be an amazing choice. The burritos are xtra large, delicious and mine was super spicy. Just the way I like it! The prices are extremely fair for the amount of food you get. It was our first time here and let me tell you the asada is sooo good. It isnt dry like other places. This asada was delicious and juicy. I went ate in the car I had to come back for me. The pastor was also delicious it carries the flavors better yet it has the grilled flavor, hits the spot. I can't remember how I found Asadero, probably just driving the Avenue after a surf, but I feel lucky to know about this place. I've been coming here for at least five years now, and have built a solid crew of devotees, with friends from LA, Denver, Chicago, and the East Coast all demanding Asadero when they visit. It's really about freshness. It's a carniceria where they marinate all their own meat, and grill you up tacos to order. One time I asked for my typical chipotle salsa and I was told that because the owners couldn't get fresh chipotles, it was not available. No canned Herdez here. Order what you like, it's all good. My lady and I go here at least once a week. I just can't understand why Cuernevaca gets all the buzz. I brought in a couple dozen tacos to a landcaping crew recently, mostly guys from Mexico, and they were suprised how good the tacos are. Just great all around. read more

We were going to Johnny's, but it was closed, so we drove down the Blvd to see if we could find a substitute. Enter: El Asadero. The staff is friendly at El Asadero. You can tell they take pleasure in feeding you. The husband and I had their tacos, and the al pastor tacos are otherworldly. I'm something of a taco connoisseur, so trust me when I say they are epic. Super flavorful, and the tortillas are made from scratch. This shop is really clean and also a meat market... haven't tried their meat, but it looks nice. Totally worth a visit.
