Tacos came undressed , I actually preferred it this way, at the self serve salsa and toppings bar to customize how I like. Great selections of grilled jalapeño ( yummm ) sautéed onions, cheese cubes, corn kernels, onions, cilantro and many more options with different varieties of salsas. We also took advantage of their happy hour drinks and appetizers menu options. Monday-Friday 3pm-7 pm. We were surprised the portions were full size offering, not like most other establishments . We ordered calamari, fish ceviche & queso fundido . the flavor of queso fundido here is delicious ( I recommend) the fish ceviche was not to my liking . Visiting for the first time. Food was great tacos were tacoing on a Tuesday for $1.50 but does not include fish, lengua. Inside seating tables, booths or bar. Happy hour menu 3-7pm Mon-Fri. Service was great. Parking available right in front. Took a few tries to get a water refill but the tacos were worth it cuz of the awesome salsa bar! Definitely worth a visit. I called a day before for pricing and hours. I was told the brunch buffet was $35 but it was actually $37.99 when I got there. Met up with some friends for a bday brunch. The food was so good. There was a bit of everything. I really liked their chipotle spaghetti, it was different. And omg their arroz con lecha was the most delicious and cozy arroz con leche I have ever had! Food was kept hot and mimosas were promptly poured without having to ask. There's wasn't anything that I didn't like. The mariachi took requests and it made the environment so fun. We've been passing by this place for years. Actually it's been a few places over the years. The few consistencies have been the crowded parking lot, the music playing outside (you can hear it as you pass), and the posted ads around the building. We finally got the nerve to stop in on a Taco Tuesday. We arrived at 652pm....8 minutes left in happy hour! By the time we sat, we had 5 minutes. I ordered the hibiscus Margarita $6 and the hubster had the regular lime margarita...he's so boring at times ...lol! Proceeded to order chicken taquitos and hot wings. The hubster added carne asada tacos. The taquitos were so cute and nicely presented on a bunch of lettuce on top of some cheeses beans that were really good! Suggestion: loose the greenery OR lessen it! It takes away from the really good beans underneath the taquitos! Now the wings....perfect! All they needed was some cool bleu cheese! It's cool tho....i had some at home so that's exactly where I ate them. By the time the tacos came, I was stuffed so I didn't try them. The hubster said they were good with lots of flavor. I absolutely love the food at El Baja! I've been here a couple of times and the food has been amazing every time!! I'm a creature of habit so I've only had the carne asada plate with beans and rice, but both times, the carne asada was excellent!! It was so flavorful and tender! The plate also came with beans, rice and homemade tortillas!! They also included a grilled jalapeño and nopales for a nice, authentic touch. Just writing about it is making me want to go to El Baja as we speak. Also, I have not tried it, but they have a brunch on the weekends and live mariachi's! You will be missing out if you don't swing by for dinner soon! read more

The food is decent, the drinks are decent and we used to come pretty often for Happy Hour but the service was absolutely awful the last two times. Honestly mostly because of our server who was the same the last two time... her name is Zulema, she had us sitting and waiting for our bill for over 20 mins. She was not attentive and I had to wait for my water while I was eating my spicy Agua chiles... she was rude to us about ordering a lot...I really hope they can improve on service ! *it states in the menu that bills above $200 gets charged an automatic surcharge ours was $170 (4 people) and we still got the charge? Double check ur bill. Not that big of a deal but when service is that poor it was a little annoying to still get that charge. We won't be taking our business here anymore after this experience. read more

El Baja is one of my favorite restaurants! The food is phenomenal, and I rave about it to everyone. However, the music has become way too loud lately. It's blaring to the point where you can barely hold a conversation with the person next to you. The staff did lower the volume and close the bar door, which helped for a bit, but every time the door opened (which was often), the music blasted again. It was so loud that several parties had to move from the bar area to the dining room. Eventually, they turned the music off, and things improved, but it really shouldn't have to get to that point. I love this place and want to keep coming back, but the volume makes it feel more like a club than a restaurant. Please consider keeping the music at a reasonable level so guests can actually enjoy the amazing food and conversation without worrying about losing their hearing. read more

I've come to this restaurant multiple times, The best quesabirria tacos I've had can't help but get them every time, not too heavy that I feel sleepy but not too little to not fill up, my girlfriend gets the tacos gobernador ,which is a shrimp taco that comes with this spicy green salsa that's also delicious, if you come on Monday's you can get cheaper margaritas which pair well with the very flavorful food, This place is a gem in Fontana area I'm always surprised that it's not busier, decor is pretty flowers line the walls as well as murals on the walls, nice music that also matches the decor, service has been great every time that I've come I like this place a lot I'd highly recommend it. read more

Worst service ever! We had a reservation at 7, we ended leaving at 8:40 PM without eating. They never brought us our food even though the table next to us ordered way later than us but got their food. Our waitress did not bother to check on our table at all. Love the vibes, nice date spot! Good music and good drinks. We originally started in the dine in area order food and drinks and closed out. We were going to leave but went back in to the bar side and ordered a couple more rounds of drink. Recommend getting the flight, for the tequila. Only downside was that the waiter on the sit down side charged up a different price for what was listed on the menu when I asked her about it she said that's not what I ordered. I was confused because I told her exactly what I wanted while pointing at each item on the menu. Very disappointed, as soon as my family walked in we got greeted with. Do you have a reservation? They could not find my reservation asked me multiple times and then magically it appeared. They sat my party of five at a small table with a chair on the side, which was OK because my son is only five but then asked us to move to an even smaller table. At this point I said no thank you this table is too small. We'll just go somewhere else. There was no other option given by staff even though the restaurant was more than half empty and had multiple tables available.
