Our family first came here on a "Dia de la Candelaria" back in 2009. Instead of cooking at home, our party of 20 decided to come here and have been back on special occasions since. We loved the ambiance, the live music puts you in a happy mood. All the players and singers are very talented. Our most recent visit was on 8/3, The food was always okay/good, but this time around, our plates were very good! The food was hot, and plenty (ended up taking a to go tray). The server was friendly, very attentive but not at all pushy. Since we took Lyft there, we started with margaritas, then moved on with a bucket of Pacificos. My Mom loves Mariachi's and the show at Pancho Villas is always an amazing show. The Mariachi is very engaging with the crowd they came up to serenade my Mom as we had mentioned to them it was her Birthday. I highly recommend the Molcajete Mixta they are enormous and come served with shrimp, steak, cheese, nopal and a side of rice and beans. It is more than enough for 2 people. I had an absolute blast here with my friend's family as we celebrated his newly graduated sister. The lights were dimmed as we walked in, and since we had a reservation, we were quickly escorted to our seats with a great view of the stage. Live music was being played by a mariachi band, and the crowd was having a great time singing along. As I looked through the menu to decide what to order, we received our chips and salsa, along with some freshly made guacamole that we had ordered. When I say this guac was addicting, I mean it. My friend, his brother, and I devoured it quickly. For my entrée, I chose the enchiladas with mole sauce, as I was told the mole was delicious. I also ordered an horchata since I saw everyone else getting one. While waiting for our meal, I was thoroughly entertained by the live mariachi band and a small group of singers who took turns performing. Every half hour or so, an announcer would go around asking what each family was celebrating and give them a shoutout. When the food arrived, I was surprised by the large portions. Although the prices are steep, the quantity was generous. The chicken in the enchiladas was well-prepared and tasty, and I enjoyed the mole sauce. I also liked the rice but wished there was more of it. The horchata was gone in minutes, perfectly balanced and not too sweet or milky. So I came here with my family and elderly mother who loves mariachi music. Her request was to take her somewhere with mariachi entertainment for this Mother's Day. I honored her request because I almost lost her earlier this year, but she had an excellent doctor who saved her life. I am new to the area and have visited their Cherry Avenue location multiple times. On a recommendation from the other restaurant staff, I decided to try this place. There were positives and negatives to the experience on Mother's Day but let me talk about the positive first. The server told me that normally on Sundays they have a brunch buffet until 2pm. During the evening, they have their dinner menu. Since it was Mother's Day they only offered their buffet which was $55.99 per adult. They have a kids rate but I don't know the cost. There is no senior citizen pricing. The all day buffet allows them to streamline the food since it would take too long to bring out custom orders. The selection for their buffet was amazing. They had cheese enchiladas, chicken mole, chile verde, beef birria, carving station with prime rib, shrimp, sautéed veggies, rice and beans. They also had another station where you could order street tacos. For the kiddos they had chicken nuggets and fries. They also had red menudo. The cold food station featured salad, various salsas, fresh fruits, bionico, and nopales. The dessert station was excellent with a chocolate fountain with fruit and marshmallows, 3 leches cake, capirotada (a type of bread pudding), filled mini churros, mini pan dulce, jello, and cake. Not sure if this the menu every week or if it was special for Mother's Day. They also let you go and get food while the show is going on which is less packed. This is a smart move because it does get crazy when they let the people in before the show starts and everyone stampedes to the buffet area. My suggestion is wait a bit and go get food because they constantly replenish the stations. The mariachi show has 10 musicians and 4 folklorico dancers. They appear at least twice in the show. They also have multiple tv screens so you can see the stage if you are not sitting directly in front of the stage or facing the stage. Here's the negative, sodas or lemonade are not included in the buffet price. I thought there were but our server was fast to replenish our drinks so I got my money's worth. There is a huge wait before designated your reservation time. On Mother's Day, they have two hour time slots from the morning till like 8 or 9 o'clock at night. I picked the 2:15 slot thinking I was beating the lunch and dinner rush. Nope! There was a boatload of people waiting outside to be called in when I arrived. It is a bit intimidating when you arrive and wonder if there is going to be a seat available despite having a reservation. What I found out is, they hold the people outside to clear the tables and replenish the food station after each show. They also call you by name at the front but you have to check in first. Once they call you, someone seats you. When I called earlier in the week to reserve my spot, I was required to make a $10 person deposit. Not sure if this is standard practice for non holiday reservations but I understood since it was Mother's Day, I have no complaints. Too many times, people make reservations at multiple locations and then wait to the last minute to cancel. Those reservations could be opened for people who really want to go. I think the deposit weeds out people who will bail at the last minute. There is a two hour time limit. When I made the reservation the hostess told me they give you an hour to eat and then 1 hour to watch the show. I honestly thought they cut off the food when the show starts but, no, you can eat and get your grub on. If you like to drink and linger with your party, after the show, this won't happen here. Like I mentioned before, right when people get seated, they stampede to the food and it gets pretty chaotic. The bar is adjacent so the servers are trying to get drinks to the tables and people are grabbing food and balancing plates of food back to their tables. This spectacle is a bit overwhelming and discouraging because there are so many hungry people at the same time. If you hang tight, grab some tortilla chips and salsa, you can wait out the stampede. To be honest, I was frustrated too seeing everyone zig zag around the stations with no clear direction. Immediately, I thought I am never coming back but after talking to the server who said Mother's Day is their busiest time, I calmed down. Overall, I will continue going to Pancho Villas since I like their food. I want to visit their Rancho Cucamonga location since it looks like the menu is slightly different but I will bring back my mom since she loves mariachi music and she had a memorable time. read more

I came to this location with family and friends the other day to celebrate a graduation. The reservation process was super easy and we were even able to be seated a little earlier than the reservation time was set for!
