So far, the food has been subpar. I paid almost 20 dollars for a Jalisco Special, and got barely any meat, literally an entire bowl of rice and bell peppers. My wife's chicken feliz had almost no cheese on it, and the rice is flavourless. I don't know how you can claim to be authentic Mexican when you're not even seasoning your food. I have stem at a couple locations and yet to have a complaint about one their food is always tasty and serving alway great at mushers is always pleasant as for servers and personal I would recommend this over any Mexican restaurant for choices and $$ amount just due to quality and price alone!!!! read more

We used to visit El Bracero often at the Trenton location when we lived over by Exit 1, but when we moved to the opposite side of town we were really missing it. Not sure how we had missed this location next to Publix on Madison St but it is a game changer!!! This location is much smaller than the Trenton or Wilma but is nice and the service was great. We were greeted right away and we asked to be seated at the bar. They have a large drink menu and our drinks came out quickly and strong (a very good strong!). We enjoyed the chips and salsa and also ordered the cheese dip. I ordered the Chicken, Spinach and Mushroom Quesadilla and added the Fajita veggies to it. Came with a side option and I chose the rice. The quesadilla was so large and so flavorful!!! Everything was very fresh and seasoned and grilled perfectly. I really like to add the cheese dip on the rice and it was really good. My only downside on this is that this quesadilla option does not come with the typical side of lettuce, tomato, sour cream...I am sure that is because there is spinach in the quesadilla so it really is not an issue. The hubby ordered the Fajita Burrito with grilled chicken that came with rice and beans. The burrito was very similar to my quesadilla but just not grilled and topped with cheese sauce. Same great quality! He really liked how protein packed this burrito option was. It did not have the typical rice and beans inside, but was packed with chicken and veggies. Still have the rice and beans on the side was great but my husband appreciated how much chicken was in the burrito. The service was very friendly and quick (even though the restaurant was very busy). Although smaller than the other locations this still has a nice atmosphere and is very clean. So happy we finally realized this location is so close and we will be back often! read more

The food is always good and fresh. I like the margarita with the corona. ImThe ambience is cool. If I come when they are about to close. They always get my order correct and they never rush you. . If I come with other people it's ok. It just depends on the server you get. So, some servers are new and some have been there for a while. It's a 10 out of 10 for the food and drinks. I went it was a party of eight people our waiter seemed overwhelmed. She said it was her first week. Just try out the food and the Margarita with the corona. You will be back again. read more

Visited El Bracero on a Friday night @7pm and the place was very busy. We were seated immediately and our waiter Jorge got us some water along with some chips and salsa. Decided on the Sirloin Steak Fajitas for Two and not long after they delivered a huge iron skillet of steak, onions, and peppers along with soft flour tortillas. The chips and salsa were pretty basic and the salsa had no real flavor other than tomato. Was a bit unusual that they delivered the rice, beans, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo several minutes before the fajitas. The overall dish was good with plenty on this plate alone to fill you up. Once the fajita platter was delivered you could probably feed three or four people from this platter. Unfortunately, a large platter of meat did not equal great flavor. The steak was plain...no real flavor or fajita seasoning. Maybe the kitchen was busy and forgot to season the meat...who knows but I've had much better fajitas. Service was good, Covid cleaning practices seemed to be ok, but seemed tables were way too close to each other. May come back to try other dishes but I would not recommend the fajitas. read more

I wasn't sure a decent Mexican restaurant could be had in Clarksville as we'd tried 3 before last night. But oh my! was my hubby happy to prove me wrong. I asked for healthy and he said, oh they have great salads. On to the test! I ordered big chunk guacamole and the Bracero salad w/ lime cilantro dressing. Pure delight!! Chicken chunks were huge and well seasoned and juicy even though they were grilled. The dressing was extra special and full of flavor! Not watered down in the least. I was blown away by the attentive and friendly service. No request was ever a bother as you know I begged for more dressing to take home since it was just too much food for one sitting. I am conflicted about writing this review, because I don't usually like to judge restaurants when I have a bad wait staff experience. But, here we are. The restaurant doesn't leave much to the imagination outside. Just a Mexican Restaurant in a strip mall. On the inside however, it is quite nicely decorated. The menu offers a few more options than a typical Mexican restaurant. I ordered chicken, cheese, and rice so I wasn't expecting anything spectacular. My wife ordered a taco salad. Both were average, as was the salsa. It was reasonably priced as well. The biggest issue was that we saw our waiter twice. He took our drink order, came back with those, and took our food order. After that, we didn't see him again. As a matter of fact, a member of the kitchen staff had to come out to give us our check and get us settled there. We waited about fifteen minutes after we finished eating before we got our check. I will say that the other waiters seemed to be doing their jobs well. So if you're looking for some average to decent food for a good price and your in the area (or, as in our case, Don Pancho is closed), go ahead and go. However, stick with water. First time here. My Daughter and I wanted to go out for margaritas and the place we were going to go to we remembered wasn't that good the last time we went. I have to say this place was very good. While there we decided to have a bite to eat and the flavor of the food was excellent. The prices are very good and the portions are more then enough. Very friendly service as well. Possibly the worst plate of Mexican food I have ever had the luxury of consuming was at El Bracero, located on Madison Street in beautiful Clarksville, Tennessee. El Bracero is a local chain of americanized Mexican restaurants, stretching from central Kentucky to the Clarksville-Montgomery County Area. The El Bracero on Exit 4, near the local mall and Wal-Mart, is a true money-maker, with emphasis on attractive servers, mariachi nights, and a portico where a small Guatemalan woman presses fresh flour tortilla, to the awe of passing patrons. The location on Exit 1 is no different. As they say, however; 'Location, location.". The El Bracero on Madison Street, nestled near the aorta of Historic Downtown Clarksville, is both the oldest and least successful of the three area locations. Madison Street, which runs from Downtown to the rural Sango area, cuts through some of the oldest and poorest areas of town. The locale is comprised of geriatrics and gang members, with little in-between. So it wasn't to my surprise that, on a breezy Cinco de Mayo, the main dining room appeared as though a bomb went off, or the fair was in town. Nervously, I surveyed the scene, and then took a seat with an acquaintance. Service was slow, which I found interesting, considering how unimpressive the lunch-time crowd was. There was a large order being prepared in the kitchen, which, having worked in kitchens before, is understandably time-consuming. However, we had extremely simple orders, and the food took an extremely long time in arriving to the table. However, little could have prepared me for what came next. I ordered carnitas, usually sure-fire in appraising the quality of an AMR (Americanized Mexican Restaurant). What arrived to my table could have made an episode of Dirty Jobs blush. Instead of fried pork pieces, crispy on the outside with gleaming white flesh, I was met by the Black Dahlia crime scene in technicolor. A giant, thick pork loin, hacked in the middle by a dull knife, with a strange gamey smell and a pool of clear, pus-like liquid. Upon consumption, the taste was game, odor, charred pieces mixed with lukewarm fat. You can ask the guy I was with. I was shouting at how awful the food was. The salad was insipid, the avocado tasteless and odorless. I might as well have tucked into some sliced jerky silica packets. The highlight were the tortillas, which paired nicely with the canned refired beans. I have nothing else to say. This place sucks OVERALL RATING: 3/10, disgusting food saved by cheap drinks that i'm not old enough to purchase. read more

I'm from Southern California, and I take Mexican food seriously. This restaurant has very good, authentic Mexican food. The prices are reasonable and they have lots of different flavors for margaritas. My favorite dishes are the enchiladas poblanos and the California burrito (naturally). The kid's menu is OK:pizza and burgers and fries, although my normally French-fry-loving kid doesn't like their fries. They're seasoned and they're good, but she is very very very very very picky. We went on Friday night, they were pretty busy but it didn't appear that anyone else was waiting. I told the hostess we had a party of nine. She said it's going to be a while. I said ok well wait, she repeated herself. I said well how long 30 minutes and hour? She said I don't know. I asked again bc I wasn't sure she understood. She just shrugged her shoulders obviously not wanting to help me in any way. I then told a waitress your hostess cannot help me how long will it be before a table. She just walked right by me and never stopped to even say anything. We obviously left. A woman was outside, she said oh honey I'd go somewhere else the service is horrible and our table got their food 30 minutes apart and was ordered at the same time. Worst customer service ever. We have tried just about everything on the menu and haven't found anything bad yet. To date my favorite in both presentation and flavor has been the molcajete. It was delicious and the hot stone bowl made the presentation outstanding. The service can be a bit spotty but overall we love the place. We were so excited when they opened this on our side of town. We had heard such good things about the one on Tiny Town Road and the one in Hopkinsville, Ky. We went on a Wednesday night. When we arrived there was only four tables of people there with a total of 9 other people besides us. Immediately someone walked by and plunked down the usual chips and salsa. After 15 minutes we had to ask the bus boy if someone could take our drink orders as the salsa was way spicy. 10 minutes later a server showed up. She took our drink orders. Another 10 minutes goes by before she returns with them and sets them down and leaves. We waited another 30 minutes for someone to come and take our order but no such luck. I told my husband we should just leave as the experience so far had been terrible. He was determined to stay and try their food. Big mistake! Finally we got the same bus boy and asked him if our server was going to come and take the order. He was so nice and apologized like 10 times. He took the order his self. He returned about 20 minutes later with our food. The food was not good at all. My husband had something with hamburger in that looked, smelled and tasted like canned dog food. I had a chicken with rice dish. I will say they gave me plenty of chicken. The chicken had no taste at all though. It was rubbery and just bland. Such a disappointment. The rice was undercooked and it only covered a fourth of the plate. There was supposed to have been a white melted cheese on it but there was none. We took about two bites of the food and just pushed it aside. We waited and waited for someone, anyone to bring the ticket. Finally 42 minutes later the original server who brought us the drinks stopped by and asked us if we were ready to order!! Really! I mean seriously, it was a little late for that don't ya think! We informed her we had ordered and showed her the uneaten food. Again she said order? We shook our heads no and just asked for the ticket. We ended up paying almost $30 for two inedible meals and two waters. We should have just returned the food and left but my husband is usually not that kind of person. Guess he was in a good mood that night. I on the other hand kept insisting that we get the manager and tell him about our whole experience. Needless to say we will not return. I have driven by there every day and have noticed that the have less and less customers. If the food and service is the same every night as it was when we went I can only think that it will not take them long to go out of business. So I just created a yelp account to write this. If you want mexican food and live near Madison St/Exit 11.....go to Pancho Villa.....or Don Pancho.....even Dos Margaritas. Avoid El Bracero!!!! When I used to live off of Tiny Town I used to eat at El Bracero all of the time and I loved it. So when I moved to Madison St. area and I heard they were opening one here I was excited. Today was the 4th time they've messed up one of my orders. I kept going back because its close and I loved the other one so much. It had been over a year since I ate at this one so I thought maybe they were under new management, or had hired cooks who could cook the orders properly, but today was the last time I will ever go back. I ordered a Burrito Special with steak to go. Its just a steak burrito with ranchero and cheese sauce, served with lettuce, tomato, cheese and sour cream. I payed for it and tipped, even though it was a to go order. When I got home...it was just a steak burrito. No lettuce, no tomato, no sour cream. So I went back and they fixed it by adding the toppings that were missing. No discount or anything....no coupon for the next time I came. And like I said....this was the 4th time its happened....each with the same result. And the food there is barely ok, nothing like the one by Exit 1/Tiny Town. read more
