Went here for nachos. No menu online or on the wall. They have TVs displaying the food items, but you have to look at the dine in menus for takeout orders. Got the xl horchata which was 3.99 And the nachos with steak for 9.99 Horchata was great they even asked if I wanted ice which I opted for no ice since they asked. Nachos, we'll check out the picture. Very weird. No nacho cheese on them just some sprinkle cheese. The tomatoes aren't even chopped up and it's mostly just tomato skin it almost seems like this was the scraps from cutting up a tomato. Came with a tiny side of sour cream and guacamole which was mostly tomato. Green salsa was good for their "hot" salsa. The mild is just a standard salsa also good. Overall I'm not sure I'd come back. read more

They don't listen to the orders. They do whatever they want. I order no onion, they added onion. Ask zopes with no meat, they added meat. I order in Spanish so it's not a language issue.. It's a they don't care about ur order. They will give u what they want. Called to complain about it. I was left on hold for over 10minutes. read more

Best decision I made all week! So happy to be back after all these years. Large burrito chips and salsa and a large Horchata for $14. Absolutely delicious. Packed with beefy flavor. My veggie burrito consisted of 4/5ths head lettuce, 2 tablespoons of beans, and some tomatoes. There was no rice in it at all, and there was a small piece of beef in my veggie burrito. My husband's chicken burrito and my veggie had no flavor whatsoever. We had dined there several years ago, and the food was good at that time, so evidently, they have new owners. Steak in burrito was cooked so long it was crunchy instead of steak. I asked for sour cream and they didn't put much of any on.

5 older ladies in our group. Option for table service or order pay and sit down. Since we wanted separate checks we were asked to order and pay first. We did mind this but didn't understand the logic. Especially As we were dining at least 7 tables of 1-2 people sat down and where the server took their order at their table, delivered their food to the table, gave the table their check and the bill was paid before leaving. Been coming here for over twenty years. This place used to be a staple. It is really gone downhill through the years. Last night was the last straw. My wife and I got steak burritos. The shells were stale and crumbled when I picked it up to eat it. This ended up being a blessing in disguise for my wife. She got guacamole in her burrito. The avocado seed was put inside of her burrito. Had her burrito not falling apart. She could have bit into it. Also the steak quality has really gone downhill here. Excellent food, outstanding service, reasonable prices. I have eaten in a lot of Mexican restaurants, including a whole bunch in actual Mexico. This place has authentic tasting and presented Mexican food. If you want to try something a bit different, order enchiladas with chorizo sausage and salsa verde, a cup of pickled jalapenos and carrots, and a bottle of your favorite Jarritos soda! I've been going to this place for the last 11 years. Ever since the price hike of their giant burrito, the steak quality went down. The tortillas were hard due to being under a sun lamp, the steak tacos have too much gristle and were heavily salted. The burrito's cheese was not even melted! Was going to give it 3 stars but I had to drive back because they gave me the wrong enchiladas ( not pictured, I asked for mole but got salsa verde). Sad to see the quality drop. *UPDATE*** Downgraded this place to 1 star, got sick after eating this and only this the day after. read more

It's been awhile since we last ate here. Unfortunately their prices have increased while the quality of the steak has decreased. There were way too many fatty/chewy pieces in our tacos. Seasoning was good, and portion was large, but due to the quality I will not be coming here again. The guacamole, however, was still great. Also, please note they now charge a fee for paying with a credit card. I hate that more and more places are doing that these days. read more

Ordered a torta and it was cold asf, at least it had flavor but still for the price it shouldn't be cold for any reason. I ordered a side of fries and never received it. Just had this awesome, big-ass steak burrito with rice and beans on the side and can't be happier! I was very hungry and now I'm not! It wasn't a gourmet burrito by any means but it tasted pretty good! Better with the salsa on. The hot salsa is moderately hot. Take it from a Gringo. The beans and the rice are goooood too. Wow. This place has gone waaaaay down hill. I've been frequenting this treasure for the last 20+ years and let me tell you, whatever decisions were made this year as far as the steak goes, it is a restaurant KILLER. I thought it was a hit or miss depending on what chef was making with the tacos, burritos, sopes, etc, the last few months, but it turns out that increasing the price, nearly two dollars for a steak burrito, also decreased the quality of the steak cut. What used to be a delicious, marinated skirt or flank now tastes and feels like a stew cut usually used for a slow cooked barbecoa, except there was no slow cooked, and there's noticible hunks of fat EVERYWHERE. There is no longer a place for nostalgia with this place. Get better food across the street at Cilantro, a block away at la placita, or literally any other taqueria on lake Street in Addison. Another landmark Addison eatery has killed itself. read more

It's easy to find a deal on Taco Tuesday, but last night was Monday and I wanted some Mexican food! We drove by and saw a sign for $6 burritos. Sign me up! I ordered the steak burrito, and we got a side of guacamole ($5). Since we dined in, we also received complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was spicy (nice!) but watery (not nice!). The guac was seasoned alright, but was too purèed for my liking. Too bad it had chunks of tomato instead of onion. And the burrito? I'm a fan, but only for the once-in-a-while-pig-out-after-a-night-of-drinking. I have been coming here for as long as I can remember, which is surprising after crazy nights. Instead of recanting the already stated pleasure of the food, instead I will regale you readers in a tale of murder that took place late night in 2006. A street fight in the back lot of El Burrito left a 24 year old man to die in the hospital of several skull-crushing blows to the back of his head. There is a small shrine outside on the back wall (North East corner) to mark the incident. Just an interesting story that few people are aware of. read more

I live close by, so I go there when I'm craving Mexican food that is quick and cheap. Their burritos and tortas are great. Steak anything tastes good. I always get takeout because it's not the cleanest restaurant around. Steak burritos are staple here. Great steak tacos also, or try some cow tongue if you wanna be a bit more adventurous. The salsas are made frequently, although a few times I have picked up an order that gave me bad heartburn or a bad stomach ache. English and Spanish are spoken with ease. Stop in and try. This place has amazing hot sauce. If you dine in your get free chips and salsa. What more can you ask for. They even have the extra large cups which is a huge plus!! And if you ask you can get a free refill. The food doesn't take long and it is a big portion. I've had the flautas, tacos, and burritos. They are all really good and flavorful. One of the few good places. Only down side of this place is the dessert menu. Most Mexican places have really long lists of desserts. But I guess I can't complain. read more

I went here the other night because I had a very similar name to the Los Burritos Tapatios in Streamwood. Unfortunately this location (I am pretty sure they are related) fell quite a bit short of my expectation. I got my sure fire staple the steak burrito dinner with the chips and salsa. While the food was not bad it just tasted like it was missing something. The steak needed some more seasoning and was a bit dried out. There was a good amount of it but I have definitely seen more. As for the chips and salsa the chips were great but the salsa was pretty much tomato water. It was in need of some serious help. With so many choices for authentic Mexican food up and down the street I would pass this place up and try a new place next time.
